Room was a bit pricey for the condition. Woke up to water leaking out of ceiling over the shower. Some staff were much nicer and more informative than others. Great location if you are traveling on the Amtrak.Safety: Dont forget to get code to back door for entering the building at nighttime. I didn’t get that and was locked out one night, temporarily.

Excellent price for such a historical experience. Small town vibe. Bar and eatery across street has monthly live music.Nearby activities: Walk down the street 2 blocks to Vegas' best breakfast, Charlie's Spic and Span.

Everything about this hotel is absolutely fabulous! If you want service that's second to none in Las Vegas, NM this is your place! Fabulous food, rooms, desserts, rich in history, super friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you any possible way they can then you should check out this hotel, gift shop, restaurant and bar/lounge.

So I really think the owners and staff are doing their best, but the location is not that great. We heard the bar across the street until two am and the guys racing up and down the road until about the same time. That is not the owner’s fault, just know that it’s not a relaxing nights sleep. The ac unit is a residential window unit, so the sound just creeps in at night. Now the room, it was basically clean but the shower is small with no shelves for soap or shampoo. The plug in for the bathroom didn’t work and there was leftover popcorn in the stove. We were warned to park in the parking lot so our car wouldn’t get damaged, well maybe since they have a camera. I’d really think twice about this place, it was not for us. I will admit, the coffee shop was pretty good.

Cute! Wonderful piece of original history. So many neat things about the building that are still intact. Rooms are well appointed. Very clean for a vintage building. Linens were wonderfully soft, and the beds were super comfy, although on the soft side. We met the owner in the hall while leaving our room and she took a minute to show us many of the original pieces of the hotel and give us some brief history. Incredible experience all around! We will definitely be back.

Really a nice stay. The 1920's vibe is just different. You can feel the historic characteristics of the hotel and it was enjoyable. Old but excellent amazing clean, quiet and relaxed.Staff are friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed hanging around at the lobby with that atmosphere vibe and the talking with the staff. This is definitely the hidden gems in this town that doesn't show up on any of the booking websites.

I mean honestly for the price of this hotel it wasn’t worth it in my opinion for 200+ dollars you might as well keep driving everything here was kinda on the disappointing side from the food and just the overall town it’s self was kinda of depressing. From here on out any hotel that has historic in its name will not be entertained because from the knobs on the shower to the televisions in the room everything was definitely old. Don’tNoteworthy details: There is nothing noteworthy that I can think of when referring to this hotel.

Upon arival the place appeared to be a nice historical place to stay!! When we got to our room it did not look like it had been cleaned at all except for clean sheets and towels!! The bathtub drain was full of hair and a huge rust stain around the drain. When I walked on the bathroom floor it felt grimy and my feet were filthy. The room had a strange oder that I could not recognize. When opening the curtains they fell down. After leaving we received another bill of $283. When we called them to enquire about it they said we smoked in the room and they had evidence. When we aske them to send us pictures they were very rude and said hold on I have a customer and then hung up on me. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you just need to board an animal. Still trying to get a hold of them for justifying the smoking charge. We did not smoke anywhere inside there.

If you're allergic to cats you might want to steer clear they literally roam the halls like a common pet . I didn't mind them to much I thought it was kinda funny but someone else might have a reaction. As far the hotel itself the rooms are kind of run down I'm sure in its hayday it was something to see. If anything stop by and sit in lobby and have some coffee at the little coffee shop I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We had a wonderful two-nights at the El Fidel. All of the property staff that we met were beyond helpful which set the mood for a warm and welcoming stay. The lobby of the property is gorgeous and complete with comfy furniture - an excellent place to sip a drink or read. Oishi, the hotel’s onsite restaurant, was excellent, the yakisoba deserves a special callout. The complimentary coffee available to guests at the lobby’s coffee bar was also an especially nice touch. The coffee shop also offered a variety of pastries and cookies available for purchase and everything that we tried – from the scones to the oversized cookies – was simply delicious. The weather was pleasant during our stay which afforded us the chance to sit outside in the hotel’s courtyard both in the evenings and the mornings – it’s a great space. Our room was very quiet and comfortable, the décor and fixtures playful yet reflective of the property’s history. Everything in town that we wanted to see was a reasonable walk from the property!

A one of a kind, beautiful hotel with amazing owners. My family and I were traveling through New Mexico on Thanksgiving day when our car broke down. We got towed at night to Las Vegas and had to find accommodation that same night. From there on, Michelle and Chico, the owners of the hotel, took it upon themselves to help us find an open car repair shop for our car, and a way back to Denver where my wife was starting a new job a few days later. Michelle even gave us a ride to a town 100 miles away so we could catch a bus to Denver.During our improvised two nights stay, we were amazed by the character and charm of the hotel. I am from France, and everything took me back to the unique style of Europe, from the indoor tiles to the decorated facade of the outdoor patio. The room was clean, quiet and decorated with style. We will definitely come back and stay there again!

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. I wanted to like it and the reviews persuaded me that I would. In short: the first floor window to our room did not lock, the back door to the building did not close properly and the bathroom sink did not drain causing it to be full of standing water within a half hour of our stay. We left as quickly as we could in the morning. The hotel was not expensive by comparison to big cities, but it was much more expensive than it was worth.

Absolutely beautiful historical hotel. Everything was very clean, the owner of the hotel was so nice, friendly and accommodating. She let my sister and Me sit and play the piano in the lobby for well over an hour. I am already looking for an excuse to.come.stay here again.

Took my husband to the ER in Las Vegas where what we thought was a minor health matter, required lots of tests and treatment. With a dog in the car and no vacancies in town, Michelle was an angel! So helpful and sensitive to my situation. With so much uncertainty, she held a room for me. Arriving after midnight, her staff made sure I got in safe and secure. Very clean and comfortable. This quaint, personal hotel with such charm is a hidden gem in Las Vegas. Appreciated the much needed Bible in the room, too.

Must visit if you like historical architecture. Opened in 1920 (1923 depends on the source ;) ) and was never closed single day. You can get good coffee and some pastry at the hotel lobby. The building and furniture are certainly worth a visit!

I didn’t have the great experience that others have experienced here. However mine is pretty recent. My room was pretty poorly equipped. There was no television or refrigerator when I got there and I had to ask for it. Bathtub was full of dog hair which may account for the clogged drain . I cleaned up the bathroom that first night and they did manage to get the drain open after a few days. Internet access was very poor. When I had to walk downstairs to the desk to report the problem I got ‘ well it’s fine down here ‘ . I guess they thought that was pretty funny. I barely could make calls from my personal phone. They didn’t have a phone in the room. I was to stay there 13 weeks for a healthcare assignment but internet services were so slow there, it was hard to conduct any business there. My room was so far in the back I felt like I had to hike to get back and forth. No elevators in service. Not even a water fountain in sight. Customers are to park in the dark dirt alley way in the back. I paid for a month but left after about 10 days and didn’t get a penny refunded. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but it depends on what you’re expecting I guess. At their defense I did not see that it was a 2 star.

Great ambiance, beautiful architecture and decorations. Reminds me of old, western photos. There are also these amazing plants that you can tell have been around for years.

A Las Vegas couple (Chico & Michelle) have recently purchased the grand old El Fidel hotel and are transforming it into a modern miracle. Dinner features sushi & japanese dishes like chicken teriyaki, while by day they have a coffee bar with lattes and mochas, as well as a lunch menu. Haven't seen the rooms yet but I hear they've been redone. Quite a place.
