During the couple of months I was a part of the Pet Planet team I loved working every shift! If you're looking to board your furry friends or want to work with the cutest guests I would definitely come here. The Pet Planet team loves their furry guests, and take really good care of them. They work hard to offer an environment that is a second home for your pets. Don't forget to catch a glimpse of the office cats, Ninja & Boots, I'm definitely missing them! :)

Boarded our big baby German Shepard here; they loved on him and made him feel totally at home!

Bottom line: If you’re boarding choose a place that actually cares about your dogs and you can do far better than this place. We attempted to get to a good resolution with management, but honestly the management was just as bad. At no point did I feel like we were valued and I know our dogs weren’t treated that way.Full story: We are new to the Cruces area and were planning a vacation. We checked local places and saw Pet Planet’s reviews and thought our kids would be fine here. We have 2x German Shepherds and rented a king room (with a camera) so our pups could have indoor/outdoor access. We dropped off Wednesday evening.Thursday: we get a phone call: excuse me, did you guys bring your own food? Us: yes and medication too that was supposed to be given in the morning. It’s almost noon at this point, and our kids got breakfast after noon that day. They were fed dinner 4 hours later. You figure, just a one off mistake right? We notice the kids don’t seem to be using the dog door at all.Friday: basically a repeat, except we are checking in on them more. The dogs don’t get taken out all day after breakfast. They still aren’t using the dog door. We call and ask and are told our dogs are “lower priority because they have a dog door to go outside.” We explain that they haven’t used it or haven’t been able to use it. They let them out at the end of the day. We also find out the dog door has been shut this entire time.Saturday: our kids, yet again get breakfast after Noon and dinner at 4pm. Dog door never gets opened. We call multiple times. We find out the dog doors broken because they left a hammer in there. We ask to talk to management.Sunday: the only day that goes well with what supposed to happen all along. Was good service and you think things are better.Monday: manager actually calls us, says she will look into it. Asks for pictures which we oblige. Kids still get fed after noon and at 4. They’re short staffed, like this makes it okay. Manager says she needs more time to look into this.Manager proceeds to not call us back. We call her the next day. She informs us she “let someone go” and tells us that’s not what was supposed to happen on Saturday. She says she’s charging us for a queen room for that day instead of a king. We inform her again, that this happened for multiple days. She apologizes and says she will look into it. She proceeds to call out the next day(family stuff happens), but the day we go to check out. I’m fairly sure that we were charged for every day.And you know what, it wasn’t even about the money. It’s the fact that obviously something went wrong with our pups stay there. She recognized an issue. Fired someone for it. But never even bothered to give us a real resolution. Her message back to us is that they were understaffed and they’re sorry for the door malfunction. Both of those led to the fact our kids were clearly not treated the way they should have been. The fact that manager is near impossible to get on the phone and unreliable at best to actually return a phone call while there is an ongoing problem just adds undue stress. This stay with pet planet was infuriating.Your day campers are probably fine here, because they’re clearly the priority. Board elsewhere. If an owner that cares wants to talk please give me a call. Otherwise the manager is no better than the employee they fired. Just absent and enabling. Do better.

My Prinny aka Princess is a very introverted rescue border collie. It took me 2 months just to be able to pet her. I work long hours 10-12 hours at a local vet clinic and was sad about leaving my kiddo at home all day so decided to enroll her in doggy daycare. The staff took extra time to make sure she was appropriately cared for. At first she was very hesitant and scared... What surprised me was how truthful the staff was about her behavior. She's a tough cookie to accommodate for but they let me know in all honesty how she did throughout the day and that she was more anti social towards the end of the day and hid under the play equipment during he first few daycare sessions. Its very easy for places to lie and just say "yup your dog did great see you later."...and I truly appreciate the feedback.I kept bringing her and sure enough after about 6 daycare sessions she's starting to really enjoy it and even wags when we arrive. I'll definitely be boarding and using these daycare services long term. Thanks for all the care guys! I truly appreciate it!The curbside is A+ (and hard work for all of us essential employees). They're always out in a timely manner. The employees seem passionate about their jobs and everything so far has been perfect for me. I hope my kiddo really starts blossoming more do I can bring her a few more days per week.-Amanda

I am Grateful to have brought Charlie in today for Day Camp. I stopped in a couple weeks ago, and was impresssed. Front desk staff were excellent, and again today! You owe it to your dog to stop in and see this great boarding and day care. The water play area is a huge bonus. We need a Water Dog Park here...

Pet planet is the only place I trust in Las Cruces to take care of my babies. We leave our 2 dogs with them multiple times a year for about a weeks time and every time they come back exactly as we left them. One of my favorite things is being able to check on my dogs through the cameras and receiving the report cards.

Usually this Hotel and Day Camp is amazing. Until this last week where we boarded both my pitbulls and we were very disappointed. We get a call that they were given the wrong food (involving strong medication due to an autoimmune disorder one of our pups has) and that bag of food with medication could have been given to the other dog or could’ve been given more than the intended amount, causing an overdose and when asked about this issue to the employees they said they didn’t know the details and couldn’t give us answers. Then our dogs are very well trained and never have accidents unless we aren’t home for long periods of time to let them out and even then they hold it and go out when we get home. We get informed both of them peed their beds and they gave it to us wet. We trust our dogs with this place because of the reviews and their staff seems trustworthy but obviously they cannot handle taking care of dogs on medicine, or who need potty breaks for more than two days. Save the risk and hire a house sitter or a different boarding place.

Been a big fan since they opened. I ask my dog if she wants to go play with the kids and I can hardly keep her contained to get into the car. I come for the day care most often, but have also used overnight stays. Nothing but praise and kudo's for the team. Lola gives it 4 thumbs up.

Very dangerous place for your pet , My dog left injured, given back to me with a 1 inch gash on shoulder bloody and matted fur. No one said anything, then denied any wrongdoing on the staff’s behalf. As their offer of compensation, they would comp the weekend stay , but I and my dog would no longer be welcome at Pet Planet.Dangerous environment for your pet,

Dropped off my two dogs to go on a mini vacation. Day two of the vacation we get a call asking about food because they may run out. My wife labeled and bagged each dogs morning and evening food with medication. Mind you she wrote it in big letters on the bag. So they ended up giving the food and medication to who knows which dog? Had to calm the vet to make sure they will be ok. On the way home we get a call to pay and also get notified both dogs peed in their beds. That means they were in their place longer than the plan we paid for. Lady taking the payment asked her supervisor and we were given no discount or credit. We most definitely will not be using their facility anymore. I am not one to post ratings but this was too much. Zero attempt to make anything right.

Best place in town to board your furry family members. I have been a customer for 5 years and never had one problem. The owners and employees are friendly and professional. My dogs always have a good time and sleep like babies when the come home from doggie day camp. The rooms have video cameras so you can check up on your pets at any time. There is a military discount too! Five stars! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

This past weekend was my first and last time boarding with Pet Planet. Before I dropped off my dogs, I signed up with the app they use for their cameras to make the process easier for when I dropped them off. When I dropped off my dogs at 7:20AM, I was told that later that day I would be given access to the cameras. On that day, I called at 1:44PM as I still did not have access and was told it was still on their to-do list. At 5:36PM, I called again as I still did not have access and was about to board a flight, so I wouldn't be able to call again before they closed. I was told that it was still on their to-do list, but that they would put a star next to it so they didn't forget. Later that night, I had still received no access to the cameras and there was no communication about this whatsoever. On Saturday morning I called again and I was told that the cameras were broken in their room. I was then offered daily pictures instead, which I said yes to. I spoke to someone again on Sunday around 9:30AM, as there were no pictures on Saturday, and I was informed they forgot again. They did upload the pictures later that day around 5PM. The day that I picked them up, they had used my dogs bag of food for breakfast but hadn't given my dog his medications. At first I was told that they didn't eat their breakfast, which I told them was impossible because I had packed the bag for breakfast and it was used. Then, I was told that they were preparing food and they stopped in the middle of it, as I came to pick them up. This explanation makes sense, but it is very concerning that there was no communication about this until I counted the pills and called because there was an extra pill. My entire experience was extremely unprofessional and I was really looking forward to utilizing their services, so it's sad to see the lack of communication so visible in my first boarding reservation with them. Their lack of communication and unprofessionalism is why I am unable to recommend their services and trust my pets in their care.UPDATE: I have viewed the owner's response and decided to edit this post. The only information that I was given is that my dog snapped at another dog and he did have a puncture wound so my dog was given a first warning. My dog can get really protective over his personal space and can sometimes snap at other dogs when the space is invaded which is not a good habit. My dog is not aggressive and has been to several daycare/boarding facilities and had no problem at all. The only reason I wanted to try Pet Planet was because of the camera feature, but that was before your unkind response. In fact, my dogs have been to Pet Planet for daycare before and were in daycare for 2 full days before this incident occurred. This was all the information I was given on Sunday. I think it’s interesting that you say severe aggression, as this is not the definition of that. I also think it’s interesting to hear that you use shame and resentment, as that is not what I feel. Instead, I feel anger at the lies that you have included in your response and the false claims you have made against my dog. Never was I told that I was not allowed back. Instead, I told you that I didn’t want to come back and you twisted that to make it seem like I was not welcome back. I find it very interesting that you were so desperate to cover your unprofessional behavior that you would make up a lie about my dog that I know is the opposite of true. I urge all people away from this business as these drastic lies are unethical and it's extremely terrifying that a company would lie this much to save their reputation. I hope you take what happened in the situation to drastically improve your business and better your responses to customers who did not get the service they requested. Your accusations will not silence me and I hope you choose to be open-minded instead of defensive and evil when receiving honest feedback from your customers.

This place is excellent. The day care has a lot for the dogs to run around and play, even water and shade areas too. The boarding is clean and they treat the pets like family. Also, they'll send pics of the pet and a daily report card. They are the best so choose wisely, choose Pet Planet

I would like to begin by saying that we have enjoyed the staff and the experience of having our dog attend doggy daycare. This is more of a review about client-staff relations. As a client it is frustrating to see staff belittled or treated rudely by other customers. I think that just as animals are given report cards/warnings owners should be given some sort of guidelines on there expected interactions with staff (during pick up specifically because it can get busy fast). It makes the experience less that desirable when clients are allowed to treat staff and other clients poorly because they are unsatisfied with their wait time etc.Just a suggestion. We appreciate the hard work the staff is putting in and don’t think that customers that are verbally disrespectful to the staff and other clients should be allowed to behave in that manner inside the establishment. But maybe I’m an idealist 🤷🏻♀️

First time going here, they are fantastic! Very friendly staff, they were great with my pup! I was so worried about taking him here, only because this was his first time at a pet hotel, but with their daily reports sent to you each day, my worries quickly vanished. They treated him so good, and he was so friendly with everyone, by the time I picked him up a total 180. He was no longer shy and timid. I swear he asked if he could stay one more day! Thank you for a great place to take my dog, I will recommend you to anyone in need of your services.

I just want to say my dog loved going to daycare here. The staff was always nice and friendly. But the owner needs to be more specific about their prices. I boarded my dog for 11 days and got the 11th day free. I brought his own food, bed, and toys. However, the camera wouldn’t work the first few days and then when it did it seemed like he was always in his room. Or they would switch his rooms and not tell me until I emailed them. When I arrived to pick him up they slapped me with a $610 bill. They included daycare which I was never told was seperate. I mean do they expect the dogs to stay in their rooms with no playtime. How can you not include that in the boarding stay?! Even on their website it doesn’t say anything about daycare not being included. It’s ridiculous. I’m a travel tech and have been to many daycares/boarding and this has never been an issue or paid this much. I will not be taking my dog back here again. The space isn’t nearly big enough for them to charge these outrageous fees and wouldn’t recommend anyone boarding their dogs there either. I should have been told that daycare is a seperate charge and not included in his stay

We are from out of town and Pet Planet was super accommodating to our golden retriever. He spent the day there and seemed to have a great time. They gave us an update on what our dog, Mac, did while there for the day in the form of a written report card. Also, they have curbside drop off and pick up which really made their services even more convenient during a pandemic. We will visit again when we are in town. Highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful! The pricing was great and the service was great. I was worried about boarding my dog because he's a rescue. Meeting the staff and seeing how much they care reassured me and I knew he would be alright and would hopefully feel at home. It's also great to see the other dogs that are there having a lot of fun outside when you near the building! It's awesome that they offer web cams and I was able to check in this way and keep an eye on my little buddy wherever I was. The best thing was that any concern I had they made sure to address it right away. Like reposition his kennel that he sleeps in to make sure he could get in and out easier. I was able to catch the staff a few times with him giving him some love. I also got sent daily reports letting me know how he did, how he ate and so on. They really helped ease my own anxiety about having to leave my furrbaby behind on our trip. I'm a full time student with a year left to go, so I plan on taking him back for daycare on days when I know I have big projects and exams so he is able to get activity in a great and safe environment.

We boarded our little guy for a night while we visited the state, and Kisho seemed to have had a good time! We loved the updates on his care, and we would board here again if possible.

To me, this is the best Pet Care Facility on the planet!!! Staff is so welcoming, friendly and show a genuine a care and concern for my Annie. The business is very organized and I just love getting the daily report and the ability to view the kennel camera makes me at ease. I never worry about my baby girl while she is there. When we arrive, my Annie jumps out of the car and the staff up front just welcome her with open arms and, remember her by name. I truly feel they have a passion for their job, and that is important to me. Also, the day camp is also such a treat for my baby. I HIGHLY recommend and rave about this business!! Thank you Pet Planet for existing!!!

I have taken my dog about four times before this experience and I loved everything about them until this experience. Sadly because of this I don’t think we can trust them again. On their website you can make a reservation and then a couple days or hours later you get an email saying that it’s confirmed. When I dropped my dog off they didn’t mention the hotel being full this weekend while she’s there nothing was brought up. The second night my dog was there we got her daily report picture and she was in a cage with her bed her blanket and toys. The next day I called to ask why she was in there and they mentioned it was Father’s Day weekend so a lot of dogs were boarding in kennels. I had made my reservation ahead of time with a queen suite and was not notified what so ever that my dog wouldn’t get that for a night. Why was she moved around to so many different rooms during her stay it makes no sense to not have her in one room first of all the entire time, but I will give the benefit of the doubt that that’s just how they run it is moving dogs around constantly. However she was in the requested room for the first night. The second night in an overflow cage. The rest of the time she was in the requested size of room. Why was she there first yet got thrown out of her room into overflow? What is the point of reserving and having it confirmed if they’re going to move the dogs around no matter what and “try to fit you in the right room”. The charge for a cage is $10 less than the charge for a whole room. The room she gets her own space her own time her water food and potty breaks. The cage she gets her food, water, potty breaks but is in a room with a bunch of other dogs in crates. I also had to ask what happened to her bed because it had lots of new stains and a tear on it. I understand dogs make messes but this tear is obviously not from a dog it’s a clean tear to the seam and the strains looked like bleach. I had to ask what happened they guessed that it had been washed and got bleach but why would her blue bed be washed with bleach? In the past she’s come home with red paw pads that were sensitive. This happened again she has red raw paw pads like she was running around on hot concrete all day. Yes it is hot outside and yes we asked for her to be a day camper while she was there BUT this facility is made FOR dogs so why are the proper safety precautions not being taken like the type of flooring for the sunny outdoor yard. I am very understanding but I wasn’t notified what so ever of the situations I had to find out through her pictures. The same with the bed I am understanding like the first time she stayed here the worker told me she had gotten sick on it and they washed it that’s why there was a stain so I went about my business, but this time no one said anything and this wasn’t even my dogs doing. I’m very disappointed with this facility.

I use pet planet for my dog's play dates and have him bathed on occasion. Very nice staff. He comes home tired. Buster is a senior Lab mix. I wondered why he was so thirsty when getting home. I know they have water access everywhere. He may just not find time to rehydrate with all the adrenaline with the other dogs.

Our first experience with Pet Planet was absolutely amazing! We had our Nikolas “Niko” the pug, check-in to the pet hotel! The staff was very professional and kind. I loved the app and the warm feeling of checking up on him when needed. The daily reports were great and seeing a few pictures of him! He also participated in day camp which was awesome as he loves being outside. Niko had the best time at Pet Planet. He can’t wait to go back!

These people are horrible. If there are any problems, the owner won't return your phone calls. I actually was physically assaulted due to the negligent supervision of this establishment. DO NOT TRUST YOUR FUR BABIES WITH PET PLANET HOTEL!P.S. I read the owner's response to my review, and he doesn't even understand that I have a civil action against Pet Planet according to the police due to their negligence!! At this point I should make it clear that the assault on me arose due to an employee who I was told was working there on behest of the criminal justice system who directed another vehicle to back up into my vehicle. I have not pursued a civil action against Pet Planet because I have better things to do, and the swelling finally went down in my left eye after the altercation with the person who almost hit my vehicle at the direction of the Pet Planet employee who was working there on some type of probation according to other Pet Planet employees.

I'm very upset with this place. I boarded two cats here and when I picked them up, one of them was injured. His hip has been displaced, and he's barely able to walk. He isn't eating and in constant pain now. I'm not sure what they did to him, but I'll need to take him to a vet now.Edit in response: The cats are Murphy and Leo. We picked them up yesterday. There is no doubt he was injured under your care. There was something clearly wrong with him as soon as we brought him home. I'm not sure if the staff never noticed or they injured him trying to get him back in the crate. He's clearly walking with a limp and can't even sit to eat. There's something very wrong with him and based on my observations, it seems to be a dislocated hip.

Great place for boarding our dog. He's been here several times, and they always take great care of him, including daily updates with photos. Love having them give him a bath before he comes home, and he loves playing with the other dogs. Definitely recommend.
