We had booked room 3 for our stay and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised on how spacious and clean our room was. We loved the view also! We had a bit of a hiccup with our bathroom toilet and called after hour’s maintenance who showed up fairly quickly along with management. When our issue couldn’t be resolved, they upgraded us to a suite! We absolutely loved it and will return again. The only downside to the suite is how loud the generator is outside that made the entire bedroom vibrate and was a bit difficult to sleep, however the coffee and amenities made it easier to not care too much about that. We definitely enjoyed our stay and loved that it was close to the bakery next door and the restaurant down the road. Very clean, nice views, hot water was nice, just a nice place to stay. As a couple it was very charming and comfortable. Only thing that I would have liked to have in the room was a mini fridge and a microwave. Also there were mini peaches that were falling off the tree right onto the walkway so they stuck to the bottom of our shoes which were tracked into our room and they smelled since they had been there foe quite some time and had started fermenting. Yuck. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would like to stay again some time soon.

This is our third time staying at the Laughing Lizard. We always stay in the Sunflower Suite. The suite is just perfect..very clean and comfortable. We always bring food and wine and our favorite snacks.The Suite has all the kitchen basics you will need. Jemez Springs NM is such a beautiful quaint area..very quiet and peaceful. My only wish, is that it would be nice if the suite had a TV w/cable...it had one before..Highly recommend!!

The Sunflower Suite where we stayed for 3 nights was wonderful! It was very clean and had all that we needed. Liz, the new owner, was very accommodating with our large dog, and checked with us several times during our stay to make sure we were happy. The queen bed has a super comfortable mattress, the shower was hot and with good water pressure, the kitchen was well stocked... we couldn't ask for a better experience. The suite is located next to the office and in a very private setting. It even has a private yard with BBQ grill!

Loved sitting on the front porch enjoying the beautiful mountain view. Great location, clean and cosy room without much luxury but this is not necessary because there is a lot to visit in the area during the day. 4 stars and no 5 because I truly missed a coffee maker in the room, and the coffee shop (from which I heard is a must to visit) was unfortunately closed during the week. I will definitely return!

Clean and comfortable. Clear communication. Cafe next door with yummy breakfast & pastries. We ate at the Saloon in the evening—food and beverages were good. Glad these establishments were here! Our “neighbors” raved about their visit to the hot springs across the road. We were not there during hours they were open. We did immensely enjoy our hike into the San Antonio mountain side hot springs!

I was so traumatized It's taken a week to be able to write this. My daughter, my two grandkids, and myself had a very bad experience here. We were verbally attacked by the man and woman cleaning our room. It was only 10 am, checkout is at 11 am. As we walked toward our room the woman came out of our room yelling that the room was dirty and literally slammed the door in our face and said " leave you are not welcome here". I tried to explain that we were on our way to pick up the food and polish off the room. I tried to explain we were not ready and our food was still in there. They did not even give us a chance. The treatment was unbelievable to deal with as a paying customer. It is not worth the money, Goodluck if you stay here. I asked for management but I am afraid they may have been the "management"

The Sunflower suite was perfectly comfy for us and our pup. Super nice owner (Bob), and the suite has a well equipped kitchen. The location is pretty much right in the middle of tiny Jemez so everything is walkable, and right across the street from the Jemez Springs hot springs, which is excellent.

Very cute and clean! The water gets extremely hot!!! And the scenery is AMAZING! I would have given it 5 stars but there is no microwave or mini fridge and the only Restaurant in town Los Ojos serves big portions!

Bed was very comfortable and the sheets were really nice. Super soft. I will definitely return for more nights at this place. Perfect location too. Great amenities within walking distance...

Homey and quaint, conveniently located right on the highway. The affordable room was clean and comfortable and the A/C was ice cold. The managers seemed friendly, attentive and accommodating. The rustic front porch provided a relaxing view of the beautiful mountains and a place to have a cold drink while the monsoon rains gently fell. Giggling Springs was a two minute walk from our room. When I awoke, the smells from the bakery and cafe next door invited us to wake and enjoy the cool, perfect mountain morning.

I was pressed for a place to stay in Jemez Springs. It was early Tuesday and unbeknownst this is the day that all the motel and Inn owners go to the BIG town to buy supplies. I was having a cup of coffee The Highway 4 Cafe and the guy at the counter said he would call the owner of this quaint Inn to get me a room. Bob, the owner, who also happens to by the mayor came right by after being contacted. Great rate, clean, quiet, no phone or TV. Just what I needed. If you want to unplug this is the place.

Good rustic inn with a GREAT location! Definitely the right choice for a short stay in Jemez Springs. Walk, don't drive, to Giggling Springs from your room - it's literally right across the street. Also walking distance to the only bar in town (half a block, same side of the road).Spent the evening of 10/14 in room#3. Typical roadside inn, except very nice tiled reading nook with charming hand painted mural on the wall. Fair warning: no TV, and wifi is VERY spotty...luckily, there are plenty of books in the room, and things to do in town. I'm not a big "hang out in the room for hours" person anyway (I can do that at home for free), so this didn't bug me too much, but I can see others objecting.

Very sweet and kind owners, next door to local restaurant and bar plus great coffee next door in the morning. Beds were ok. Water was nice and hot. No tv. Very quaint, cute, and a good in between to all that Jemez mountains have to offer.

Loved this place. Sought at the end of long day of riding and it was a perfect place to stop for the night. And to boot I found the best pizza I’ve ever had just down the road. Jemez Mtn Brew House.

Quaint and rustic and conveniently located for forays to Bandelier, Valles Caldera, hot springs, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, etc. Its just the lodging now, no cafe, but the Highway 4 Coffee and Bakery is just next door (see separate review). Great place to stay for day-use of the local hot springs. Simple, clean, not elegant, value price.

We really liked this motel. A bit rustic but clean and all the basics were provided. Plenty of hot water, drinking cups, Wi-Fi, comfy bed, etc. Hotel manager is a nice guy, very attentive. Convenient having restaurants on either side.

Suprise! An additional 53 dollar cleaning fee after check out. Laughable indeed - at your expense. Where do we start? The hidden costs and inconvenience for this lackluster experience? Yes. Here we go: We didn’t use the shower, or the second bed in room #1, and left the room in perfect condition - minus not making the bed. There was no TV, no coffee maker - with exception of the single serving Keurig on the deck that had no coffee or creamer. If you enjoy leaving your room to walk the trash to the bin in your robe, or the tiny communal Walmart fridge and microwave on the deck, then these bonus amenities are for you. Not even a trash can in the room. The mini-split air conditioner and fan didn’t put out enough air to blow out a match. If you are looking for a zero frills ( expensive $164+ dollar, including the bogus cleaning fee ) place to sleep here’s your AirB&B. Hope you like traffic noise as the rooms are just off the highway, and echo into your room. Very disappointed. Total rip-off. Will never return to this con-artist tourist trap. We love the Jemez and Jemez Springs and visit regularly, but The Laughing Lizard Inn is off our list permanently. The laughs are the greedy owners laughing at taking your money you could have spent on a better place to stay. Didn’t enjoy driving 10 miles up the road to buy a cup of coffee. Go to the La Cueva lodge up the road. Don’t be fooled by the obviously paid 5 Star reviewers - who 5 Star KFC and Chipotle…. Avoid this alleged Inn at all costs!!

A basic room, nothing fancy and no TV. It was great! We went to Jemez Springs to enjoy the season and the Christmas festivities. The Laughing Lizard was perfect for the occasion.
