Do not take your dog here to be boarded. I left my dog with them for two weeks last summer. When I came to pick my dog up she was covered in feces also the bedding I left for her was completely covered in urine and feces stains. She also had terrible diarrhea after her stay. Then they had the audacity to spray her with perfume before bringing her out to me when I picked her up…hmm it’s almost like they felt guilty about something? I can’t imagine what kind of conditions they had her in for where she sleeps to just be covered in urine and feces which I know she would NOT do if she couldn’t help it! I feel sooo guilty for leaving her with these people for those two weeks that we were out of town.. This place needs to be shut down!!

I do appreciate them not wanting to cause more trama to my baby, but as a place that advertises grooming, they were not able to preform this service. They did bathe my baby, but gave him back still wet. They did not brush him out, to a point that my car and myself are covered in hair. I was very hopeful as we just moved to the area and we have never had trouble getting our baby groomed before, groomers love him, but I am very disappointed.

Ashley was great with grooming and shaving our almost 20 year old cat! Our girl is so happy and feels so much better, thanks to Ashley! It’s very hard to find a person who will shave a cat without sedating them at the vet. This Lady is amazing!

It's like taking your animals to a trusted family member. I'm, like most animal lovers, scared to leave my animals with anyone. But Ashley had taken great care of my dogs and had given me great updates each time I called. Her grooming is great, my dog had hated getting a hair cut but she took the time to understand and get to know my dog, now he will sit through the hair cut and loves seeing her. She treats each animal with love and respect and will be the only groomer I let touch my babies.

Ashley has been seeing my dogs for years. She cares about our baby more then just grooming. When my oldest dog passed away not long ago she made a picture for us with his name and framed it for us. She is the nicest lady and always does a great job.

I have baby girl Prissy!!! (She isn’t a baby at 14 but she is my baby) I have never left her at a boarding place before.. she would face time me and send me pic, just to put me at ease. Ashley’s daughter love that my girl loves her purse, she would pack her around and, Prissy loved it. My sister also used Ashley’s boarding for her 2 bulldogs and my brothers German Shepard’s . Ashly even was my baby grooming. When you meet Ashley she will make you fur baby is just like one of hers. You won’t be disappointed .

I recently boarded my maltese puppy at Ashley's. They treated him like he was their own puppy. He had playtime with other puppies and Ashley, which he really loved. They bathed him before I picked him up and did a great job. I will definitely continue to use their services and highly recommend them to anyone that needs their fur babies cared for or groomed.

I can't say enough good things about Ashley! Her grooming skills are amazing, her love and care for the animals is unlike anything I've seen from another groomer, and her willingness to work with people who are in a rough spot is unmatched. She got my dog to calmly get his nails trimmed. He used to have to be muzzled and held by me while the groomer wrestled with him. My dogs didn't mind going to see her, and I know it's because they knew she loved and cared for them. They're not just clients to her.

Ashley is great with my pup's, she is the only groomer my baby's will let groom them. My Chihuahua is very nervous around new people and my 2 year old pup came from her and she will only go to Ashley no matter what because she so good with both of them when they are nervous, so it's great that she has the ability to make pups feel so comfortable and safe. Ashley and her sister Amanda where so sweet with our husky. We originally thought we would shave our husky because his hair was so thick, we thought he would be too hot. They both where wonderful at explaining it wasn't a great idea because double coated breeds shouldn't be shaved, me and my husband had no idea.now we will only be doing the de-shedding treatments they offer. They did a good job on our sweet boy he looks great and was so happy.

I came from out of town to get my pure breed shihtzu groomed. The place is a dump. Outside the house smells like feces and had multiple litters of puppies outside. Once you walk in you can smell and see the feces covered in the house. Once I got my fur baby back his tail was MATTED. I had to brush him for a good hour to get it out. They did not groom his face nor his feet. He didn't even smell like he was given a bath just perfume. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

I’ve taken two of my dogs. Gentle isn’t exactly what I would use to describe their methods. After they bathe the dog, they put them in a kennel with industrial fans to dry them. Their communication is abysmal. I had made an appointment using their online system, which requires your telephone and email. I took my dog the day of my appointment, I was informed that their water was not working and that they tried to contact me to inform me. No phone calls, texts or emails were attempted. There are many other better options in Hobbs/ Lea County.

This was our first time there and she went above and beyond for my Mac 🐶. Very caring and patient. We have had horrible experiences with other groomers so I was a little concerned but she eased all my worries and explained her process step by step to me which was such a plus. I am definitely taking my pup back and I highly recommend Ashley!!!!

This is the best place to take your fur babies! They are based out of a home so your fur babies feel at home! Family ran business so your fur babies are treated like family! My fur baby Kit Kat loved staying for spring break! I highly recommend Ashley's and have them in my address book now for any future needs!

Ashley watched one of my dogs when I had to go out of town for a 5 day trip. He is a large breed special needs dog who needed medication and special treatment. She took great care of him and sent me pictures and updates on how he was doing while I was away!

We have boarded our dog a few times over the last five years when we go on vacation. We are originally from Houston and boarded her with the vet. We were going on vacation again beginning June 24 and I called our vet in Hobbs a month in advance and unfortunately they were booked. We booked with Southern Utopia Kennels/Southern Utopia grooming AKA Ashley’s Grooming and boarding as there are minimal options in Hobbs. This was the BIGGEST MISTAKE we ever made. Ashley Johnson, Mark Johnson, Nick Johnson and Amanda Johnson are negligent individuals and should never be allowed to be near animals. They abused our dog and broke her tail!!! She is a Champion bloodline Staffordshire bull terrier who is only 5 years old and now needs her tail AMPUTATED because of their abuse!! When we picked her up her BONE was exposed!!! We are now out $4000 because of their cruelty. We took her to the vet today and they also told us that Ashley’s shaved my dogs tail!!! We did NOT authorize this!! Clearly they were trying to cover up what they did! The vet also said this was NOT caused by happy tail as Ashley’s claimed! My dog has NEVER come home with injuries until now. They are negligent and do not deserve to board or groom anyone’s dog ever again! She also came back with a rash all over her stomach and skin was missing from her feet!These people are trash, abusive, ignorant and have ZERO knowledge of pet care! I have also spoken with multiple individuals whose dogs have either DIED or have been injured under their care. They applied tape directly to my dogs tail! This is far from over and obviously I would never recommend this place to anyone! They deserve to be shut down!!!!! Do NOT leave your animals with these vile individuals!!!

They called to tell me my pup was ready for pick up but when I went, he was still wet. When I pay for a wash and dry ... I expect him to be dry
