I always make a point of stopping at the Pepper Pot anytime I drive through Hatch, NM. Why? Because of the delicious authentic New Mexican food, cute outdoor patio dinning, and friendly service. This trip I ordered the steak and enchiladas for lunch and was amazed at the quantity and quality of the steak in particular—cooked just right and oh so flavorful. I can’t wait for my next trip there!

We really enjoyed our meal at Pepper Pot. My husband had the steak - it was a little tough but well seasoned and medium rare, very tasty. I had the combo plate with Enchiladas (one red, one green, both delicious), one taco (ok), one chili relleno (a little tough but tasty), and rice and beans (fantastic). The iced tea was also very nice. When we sat down all the tables were dirty, but a waitress came out right away and cleaned the table we were at. She did a good job with our order and the food came quickly. One note - the food is a little more spicy than most American/Mexican restaurants, but absolutely worth a visit.

What a great place to eat! In the middle of town with parking in front snd back of restaurant. Handicap parking in the back makes it easy to enter for those of us who need easier access. The staff was so busy,but were very friendly. The menu has breakfast choices until 11:00am. Also,they have a daily special that includes dessert. We did have a bit of a wait after ordering,but the food and atmosphere was worth it. This is the place that comes to mind when you say New Mexico. It smells soooo good. It's the best red chile I've ever had. The green was a little disappointing. Our server was sweet. The place was slammed so we had a long wait but nothing unreasonable. Some people came in after they closed and they graciously accommodated them. The grilled cheese was huge and my kids loved it. My husband said his hamburger steak was a bit dry and he would have preferred enchilada sauce or gravy. He did like his steak fries and I ate his cabbage which was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend.

I put a picture of the entrance because it is all I saw of this establishment besides the very rude waitstaff. I waited out on the patio with 2 pups to see if they had availability serve us. My partner disappears for about 15 mins while he was ignored in hallway. Another party comes in and is seated even though they arrived after. ?? Then he asks if we are supposed to seat ourselves and the waitress tells him to go sit on patio and MAYBE someone will come out. So…we are supposed to sit out there and wait in the hope that someone MIGHT bring us food after waiting already for 15 mins in hall? I asked the waitress the reason for this treatment and she replied that they “were slammed” and then walked away while I was talking to her. She told me the manager wasn’t there either (which probably wasn’t true). But if the owner reads this, you should staff your restaurant better or fire your terrible employees. This was the only low point on our road trip.

Nice place, they have plenty of variety in the menu. The food was good, I got the Combination Plate (burrito, green chile relleno and a hard shell taco), sorry I missed the photo! But hey I got you a photo of my dessert; Sopapillas which are a fried dough with honey.The only opportunity was that they are low on staff but that doesn’t impact the experience at all.

Our server was slow but the food was amazing. I might pay for it later but oh well you only live once. My husband had the chicken enchiladas with the red chilies and I had the chicken enchiladas with the green chilies. So so good. Way too much food but omg it was tasty

Delicious! Friendly, helpful staff. Not to busy at about 11:30am, 40 bucks with tip for us two. Relaxed environment, clean, nice decor, easy to find, plenty of parking in back. Yummy food, fair prices, good portions, good selection. Green chilli was fantastic as was the red chilli, but i prefer green, heck just try em both we did....

First time here. Daisy was our waitress and was in a great mood which made us feel welcomed. The Food was excellent for a small town like Hatch. I ordered the Green Chili Stew and a side of Chile rellenos. Delicious. Especially the stew, I was in flavor land. My friend had the Chile rellenos with Chicken and the red Enchiladas. For dessert I had the banana pudding and that also was great. Overall all great food and service, better than Sparkys in my opinion. The only down side was we just made it in, the place closed at 4 p.m.

Eh...super pricey for the food, since it's mexican dishes. The chili is hot, but they have strong seasoning like throughout their food, which makes the dishes taste the same. The building is a bit confusing on placement entrances which makes seating or waiting for seating a bit out of place. Also you can easily miss the restaurant do to it looking like a house. Parking is great and spacious. The staff, though they are friendly are everywhere and nowhere. When we see them they are quick efficient, but not around when you need something more. Also drinks are canned soda, not a fan.

Food is very good. Service is great. Green chili sauce is outstanding. Wish I could make it half as good. Will stop in next time I am in the area. We had a large party and everyone had a great experience. Highly recommend

Eager to savor a meal using genuine Hatch Chiles, I chose this restaurant mixed in with retail vendors of Hatch Chile's.. Menu choices are many and a stacked enchilada smothered with the own HOT red chile sauce. The server said that it was hot, but not unbearable. The enchiladas were extraordinarily delicious, the sauce was reminiscent of chiles from my childhood, deeply flavorful, hot and bearable. Not too hot to eat, yet hot enough for tears. Excellent food, Mexican ambiance, serving Mexican-American food and definitely worth returning to sample the many menu choices.

It’s a nice spot to stop by and refuel your body we stop by for breakfast and as you can see I got the ala mexicana with no potatoes and was not disappointed with taste and portion plus our waitress was very friendly. In a cooler day you could opt to sit outside which is available.Love it!!

Cute and quant. Welcoming service and great atmosphere. I got green chilaquiles which had a little kick but had good crunch and flavor. Also got potatoes on side that could have used seasoning as they had none. They wait time seemed a bit long but not bothersome.

Service for 5, I ordered the steak and enchilada plate. Everyone but me was served in a timely manner. The waitress became aware and went to the kitchen to find out what had happened to my order. She returned an told me that it was coming. Well, it hadn't, another long wait, I assumed they were cooking a fresh plate. Nope, when I finally received my order, visually it was beautiful, the steak was thick and large, cut into.it and it tasted well seasoned but it was cold, I tasted the beans and they were cold and I could tast the can. So, last time for me, everyone I know has been told not to waste your time with the Pepper Pot in Hatch, NMI also asked for a tea refill but I didn't get that either. Also on a last note, the restaurant was at less than 50% capacity. Overall rateing is negative 5 stars

Delicious! I asked to have my relleno with both green and red and it was so good. They called it Christmas style. Loved the cute patio outside. So glad we went here.
