The trailer was not clean upon arrival, especially the bathroom toilet, microwave, and couches, but, it was within walking distance of the ponds my family fished in (caught 3 fish in 2 hours) and where the rest of my family was camping in their own personal trailers. The owners did say we could get more towels if needed. The bathrooms and showers outside of the trailer are much cleaner would recommend using those. Kid and pet friendly, but I would advise bringing a leash for your pet as there are at least 2 dogs and cats that wander the site. A little noisy at night, but overall ok. Beautiful view once you walk out of the Cabins and RV Park.

The pics and descriptions of the cabins looked fine online, it said rustic, so I looked up rustic, and this cabin was nothing like the description and the smell was so BAD, it looked as it had not been cleaned in years, it was more like a shack, and it was very crowded, and the noise from the highway was disappointing. We checked in at 1pm and by 10 pm we couldn't handle it anymore we had to leave the smell was just to overwhelming. Please look at the cabin before you pay for it, it's cheap for a reason. The only thing that was good was the view. I would have slept out in the mud it would have been cleaner than that cabin.word of caution don't use the microwave its nasty. We will never go back.Rooms: Very very very DIRTY

A truly hidden gem. We had an amazing get away. The owners are so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. And the staff are just as friendly and nice.If you need to get away and disconnect from technology, this is a must you definitely have to experience. So quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our time here! The facilities are older with some issues but our group was able to still use as needed. The staff was nice when we had to meet them. My only concern were the fire pits, though they worked for us due to having 2 spots the next camp site fire pit was within 4 feet of my camper. I’m glad no one used it, lol. We will stay here again when possible!

Based on the number of favorable reviews, I'm hoping my experience was an anomaly, but we left after the first night to find somewhere else to go. We had reserved a tent spot, but after driving 8 hours to camp here, nearly all the tent spots were occupied...by UHaul trucks. To be fair, we were offered an RV spot, but we declined, as that wasn't exactly the "camping" experience we were looking for. Apparently, their UHaul rental side-hustle was very important, and it was made clear to us that we were second in line to making sure they had space to park more trucks throughout the weekend. We settled for the only tent "spot" that was left, which was more of a patch of grass just beyond the dog fence of a permanent resident, in between dirt roads and parked UHaul trucks. When we set up our camp stove on a picnic table at a nearby spot that was occupied by a large UHaul truck, we were informed that we would subsequently have to be charged for two spots instead of one. Also, fires were not allowed due to the water being shut off at our site; when I asked if our ten gallons of potable water jugs right next to the fire pit were sufficient for fire safety, the guy said no. It had to be water from the spigot...which had no hose and was thirty feet away. We made the best of that night and promptly left in the morning for a better campground. The groundskeeper did eventually say that he wouldn't charge us for the extra spot, so that did help a bit. My only hope for this place is that the owners were on vacation, and so we were dealing with a volunteer of sorts, and perhaps his attitude doesn't reflect that of the owners. But I can't overstate how disappointed we were with Sierra Bonita -- the website looked great, the reviews looked great...but I can't recommend this place at all.

Stopped by first thing one morning. Staff was very courteous and welcoming. The chicken strips are awesome and beverages ice cold. Taken care of by the absolutely gorgeous Stephanie:)

There is a small little restaurant close by, a little food stand, and it sells the most delicious juicy cheeseburgers and homemade fries. The NM green chile is delish!

Great place to visit. Water and electric hook up but they do have a black and gray water dump area. No cell phone reception for us here.
