I have tried to call and. Leaves messages about a dog at the petro truckstop. I have been through here twice in one month and this poor dog is still here. She incredible sweet. Maybe someone will see this review and take her in. Apparently this office ignores calls and posts.

I went to this shelter to find my dog who went missing. As I approached the door, I noticed a sign that stated to ring the bell once. I figured someone was ringing the bell over and over. So, I peered into the window and did not see anyone at the front desk. I pushed the ring button once. An older aged female came out of rear door and stood behind the counter. She looked up and screamed across the room just open the door, it is unlocked. I walked in and explained she should probably take the sign down if the door remains unlocked. She asked what I needed. I asked if I could walk in the back and see if my dog was at the facility. She never made eye contact and starting rapid firing questioning me looking through a folder. Fortunately a gentleman walked out from the rear and I asked him the same question. He escorted me to the back and was very generous. This woman is rude and doe snot represent the City of Grants.

Someone needs to come get these two dogs at the TerraCair truck stop

The first thing that hits you when you enter the building is the stench of feces and urine. The kennels are depressingly small cement cell blocks with terrible overcrowding. One dog is in a small kennel full of over a dozen piles of old feces and dried up diarrhea. There's no excuse for these inhumane conditions.

I adopted my dogs from here and couldn't be happier. The staff described the dog's personalities accurately and obviously were familiar with them. I am also fostering a cat with her young kittens as the shelter is full and encourage others to foster if they can. This shelter does the best they can with what they have.

I'm hopeful and a bit relieved to know that now Jerri is working there or volunteering. perhaps this place can turn around for the better for the sake of the animals and the community. The community can see how much she is doing for the animals and how much she cares.

We live in Grants near Nimitz and have three separate occasions that dogs have come to our house and we have called the "animal care center" for help for the dogs. Each time we were told there was nothing they could do that the "shelter" was full. We contacted the police, the sheriffs office and the vets office. there was no help to be had from any of them. We were basically told to just let them go. I quess the new euthanasia in Grants is a car going 40. I believe they just might be able to adopt out some of the animals and help alleviate the overcrowding problem if they were EVER open to the public. No matter when you go the gates are locked and no access. I just wonder what is going on in there.

We could not of had a better experience! Cheri could not of been easier to work with. The building was VERY clean and the staff very helpful. We are super pleased with our Sadie. The adoption cost, unbelievably fair. Micro chipped, spayed and first shots (we adopted a puppy). Were all included. If a new fur baby is in your heart...check it out for yourself!

They lie about the well being of the dogs they adopt out as well as the breed. I took a dog home later Saturday by Tuesday he was not responsive and limp. I took him to the hospital and was told he had a serious respiratory infection that he also passed along to my other dog. When I called to see why I wasn't informed of his condition I was told that he was in the worst shape the "rescue" had ever seen. Also, they advised that the chest infection was probably due to the change in diet....While at the hospital, they also advised the puppy I have claimed was certainly not the breed I was told when signing paperwork.A week later I received an email with a copy of the paperwork I was promised on the day we took him home. When I responded with my dissatisfsction i was instructed that any further communication would have to go through attorneys.Thank you, Grant's animal CARE Center. I will never adopt and continue to shop due to lack of empathy, customer service and human decency.

The director of this place lies straight to your face, as we adopted a little dog the director told us on our way out the door that the little dog did not bite. And once we got her home she bite my husband we figured it was an isolated incident and she bite my husband a month later again, she tried bitting me a few times too. So we returned her back to the shelter and the director was really ugly about it. We sent a friend in there too find out if the same dog was adoptable and she told her yes. So this place deserves no starts but If I could i would put a black star on them.I'm surprise that the city of Grants has such a person working for them!!!

Incredibly rude customer service over the phone. Sighing loudly into the phone and groaning “oh my god” when I asked a question (plus the other reviews on here) makes me want to stay far away from the place as possible.

Went on a saturday to adopt two kittens and they were not open, there was cars in the parking lot and they had the gate locked. Called twice and went straight to voice mail. Seems they are doing a disservice for the community by having irregular hours and poor work ethic, I wouldnt doubt because of their poor coordination that they are putting alot of animals down because they dont seem to have it together...
