Melissa is an amazing employee! She was very knowledgeable on what we needed to get for our iguana. She also used her own personal account to use a coupon so we were able to afford the light we needed for our lizard baby. Will definitely be coming back again.

Terrible customer service in the aquarium department. Clerk was unpleasant and not interested in selling fish. Most fish were not available due to sick/ quarantine. Won’t do that again. Miserable experience

I recently visited what turned out to be the worst Petco location I've ever encountered. My primary issue was the lack of available assistance. Upon seeking help, I was told by an employee at the counter to wait until she had handled the current line. After patiently waiting for 10 minutes, I noticed there was no line at all, only to find her laughing with a coworker in the office. This complete disregard for customer service was not only disappointing but also disheartening.Furthermore, the condition of the reptiles raised serious concerns about their welfare. It was evident that essential care standards were not being met; the turtles and lizards were without UVB lighting, which is crucial for their health and well-being. Additionally, the bearded dragons were visibly underweight, further indicating neglect.This experience has left me deeply concerned about the animals' welfare and the store's commitment to customer service. I hope that by bringing these issues to light, improvements will be made to ensure the animals are properly cared for and customers receive the assistance they deserve.

I purchased 2 large dog beds. You need to provide larger carts. I had a terrible time making it to the checkout balancing the beds on that tiny cart. The young man who checked out for me told me to go get my car & he would load them for me. He was kind, friendly & I truly appreciated his help!

So Petco cam in, an eventually drove out all the mom and pops, and now they're the only game in town besides the crystal corner. At first I thought comparing Petco to Walmart was accurate a soulless corporate monster, but now it feels more like the dollar general of the pet industry. Our Petco was understaffed, had a limited selection of supplies, and no one was even trying to help the customers that wanted to help.

Was there waiting to be checked out, no one there for awhile! Some young girl named JESSICA was on her phone texting! Took her awhile to check me out! Plus I said HELLO and no response! She was mainly focused on her IPHONE! Bad customer service!

Welp. I drove here all the way from durango to get told they can't sell me any saltwater fish because the tank cycle crashed. I understand that things happen, but the tanks at this location are always dirty. Either way I could of still been sold a fish and slowly acclimatize him to my fully cycled tank. Much better than him suffering through a fish in cycle. Or they could of added beneficial bacteria back to the tanks and tested the water to get parameters straight. Seems like they just didn't want to deal with me since there was 4 of them doing a water change. I know they were so occupied. I will just go to my local fish store from now on.

I was in their store last weekend and I was told that if I wanted the items I was purchasing put in a plastic bag I don't know any other store in this town that charges you for carryout bag I was told it was their headquarters who brought the order out.

Today was the second time in a week, I have gone into Petco and couldn't get customer service in aquatics. It's pretty sad that this store will soon be the only pet store in Farmington. Shelves are bare and dusty and is under staffed. Nikki is really the only helpful person there.

They always have exactly what I need for my rabbit and my dog! The employees are super helpful and I love the fact that you can try dog food out and bring it back if your dogs do not like it! That really helps me out especially with my picky eater! :)

Terrible experience. One cashier open and 8 people in line. There was a problem so the cashier was helping with that. Two others walking around the front arguing over a tip in grooming. Put my dog food down and left. We’ll never be back.

Mediocre selection. Staff is helpful and polite. I think is more to do with Petco as a chain vs this particular location. Petco seems to have gone downhill in quality the last few years. I will be looking at other pet stores for my needs, but Petco will do in a pinch 🤷🏻

So sad. All the reptile tanks are disgusting, the fish tanks are falling apart and appear to be leaking. Store is dirty. Petco used to be a great place to get pets, I would not recommend getting any from this one sadly.

Used to love it here Not anymore that’s for sure. Never any help when I need it. Always so rude. I have to hunt people down all the time Melissa who used to be the grooming manager used to be cool she’s gotten real rude it has gotten to the point I won’t shop here anymore.It’s sad been a loyal customer for years.! I even wanted to look at a guinea pig and I waited for over 30 min for someone to help me and nothing! I have even Called the store more then once and nobody ever answers the phone. I have seen cashiers just stand there ignoring the phone It’s extremely annoying when I try to come in here and I need some help with a Purchase or I need help with little animals and nobody will give me the time a day. Product all over the isles blocking the isle nothing on the shelves I mean seriously guys come on! This place is always a mess employees smoking outside all the time. The only reason why I still come in here is because my dog loves Hannah in grooming. She’s definitely a sweetheart, such a shame if I were the store manager I’d shut this place down till it was cleaned up and organized right GET BETTER EMPLOYEES IN HERE!!!

Was not impressed with Petco in Farmington, New MexicoIt was more expensive, in my opinion, than other Petcos that I have been to. There aren't as many options as other Petcos.Was never asked once if we needed help! When we did have a question we couldn't find an employee to ask our question to, it also smells bad, not because it's a pet store, like they don't clean it.I tripped over a piece of flooring that was coming up.

We want to thank Melissa for helping us with what we needed for my sick Kitty "Boo Boo". My Grandaughter passed away and we've had her Kitty since he was a Baby. If anything would happen to him it would just make me so very sad.

If I could give zero stars I would. Couple complaints. I get my super worms, mealworms and crickets from here for my bearded dragon. When trying to purchase super worms, I found all the containers in the cooler ( putting them in the cooler kills them). Then while looking at the bearded dragon babies, I noticed that one was sickly and not in good shape. I bought these issues to the cashier but he didn't seem to interested in what I was saying.

I got my dog groomed here and needed to write a review just to thank the amazing groomer Janet. I got a dog from the shelter that hadn’t been groomed in years. His hair was overgrown and knotted and I was desperate to get him help. Janet agreed to groom him on short notice and was such an angel. He was scared and getting unruly but she just had a way with dogs and was able to get him calmed down enough for a hair cut. Janet gave my dog the love and comfort he needed and I have never felt so grateful. Many groomers would have given up but she persevered and gave my doggy possiblythe first hair cut in his entire life. Thanks Janet you are the best!

I really do not enjoy going to the Farmington, NM store. Every time I visit, the store is unorganized. There are always pallets of inventory all over the floor. It is difficult to walk around and at times hazardous. (Lots of trip hazards.)It is difficult to see what is available because there is so much stuff in the way, especially near the dog food and litter which are near the back of the store.When I first walked in yesterday, I thought they were having a sale on pet clothing. There were 3 carts full of items. I was told the rack broke and they hadn’t had a chance to hang them back up.A dog had an accident in the aisle and I let the cashier know about it, but no immediate call went out for cleanup. I don’t know if it was because she planned on getting it herself?The store never smells clean and there doesn’t seem to be enough employees to do the work that is needed. They need a better manager to crack the whip and get that store back in shape!I would rather get my dog food at Walmart and I hate going to Walmart!

All my boys from here are wonderful, Tristan is extremely helpful and polite. All the animals here are well cared forEDIT: My newest rat boy I got was terribly injured and sick when we got him, he passed soon after we adopted him. At least he had a good last few days in a good, loving home that actually cared and took care of him. He died in terrible pain, I will no longer even step foot in this store. It takes forever to get help from staff, they don't take good care of their animals (Found dead hamster in one of their cages a few weeks ago) and the fish tanks are filthy.

I came here looking to get fully set up for a new aquarium. Their website seemed to indicate that they had everything I needed in stock (it said "free pickup"). Most of the stuff wasn't there. The shelves were pretty bare and looked like they hadn't been restocked in a while. I wonder what would have happened if I selected all of those items for free pickup. The store was dirty, boxes stacked everywhere, not an employee in sight other than at the registers. The entire store looked like a mismanaged disorganized mess.

I was walking around Petco and decided to look at the isle with the rats and mice. I found a small cage with two large rats in it. There was feces all over the cage. The workers seem to not be cleaning the tanks. this makes me sad that the animals look to be in poor living conditions.By the way this is at the Farmington New Mexico branch of Petco.

Animal enclosures are so dirty I feel bad for the animals there. Management needs to do something about this store. Everytime I've been in there over the last 6 months it gets progressively worse. Each time the store is dirtier, messy, unorganized and the shelves are bare. The bird cages and fish tanks were disgustingly dirty when I was there 10/28/23.
