We have consistently been pleased. Two of our daughters are in 4H, and the people at Old Mill have patiently answered question after question, ordered "odd" breeds of chickens, and given helpful advice covering chickens, cows, and rabbits. And they frequently have what the girls need for their animals, even when it's an unusual item. We're very happy to have such a great option in our little town.

Called Twice looking for chicks and was given two different dates, The last date given was 3/7/24. I googled the business and saw they are open until 6:00pm. I leave work slightly early in Albuquerque to arrive at 5:32 at Old Mill. Upon arrival the gates are closed and two vehicles of employees are getting ready to leave. I told them I wanted to get some chicks and their business states they are open until 6:00 online. Her response is sorry no they close at 5:30 until after daylight savings. I then go back when they first open today at 8:30 to purchase chicks, I go inside see the chicks tell them the 6 I want and their response is sorry those are all reserved. I leave wondering why did no one tell me on the phone the two times I called and yesterday upon arrival that if I was looking for chicks that I should pre order them to have them held for a future shipment date? As a business owner this is extremely frustrating knowing I waisted so much of my time.

I always see high school kids working and running the entire shop. I Love it. They're always very helpful, don't make me feel dumb for asking dumb questions because i don't know about certain country things. I very much enjoy my shopping experience every time. Thank you for being efficient and welcoming.

FFL fee(s) constantly change. Great customer service and nice people but evey time I go back there's another fee. I've asked about fees after every transfer but the very next time I get tagged with an additional fee. Used to be $25 for up to 4 firearms, additional fee if multiple assault rifles. Now an additional $20 each for second, third and fourth weapon. I didn't question the $65 fee this time (3 weapons, $25+$20+$20), I just won't be going back. They also won't call when you shipment arrives. I've had several weapons sitting for a while and I had to call to confirm they were there. I was also told they did not receive a rifle when calling, I confirmed shipping with the carrier and called back several minutes later and it was in fact there. Don't mean to hate on small businesses, just my experience here. If people ask of an FFL in Edgewood I would still mention Old Mill but I'll be sticking with my local guy (BlueLynx FFL) down the street.

Our 1st visit to Old Mill, we got some great treats for the dog. Prices on outdoor equipment was fair.. What really impressed me was the folks running it, particularly the young lady behind the counter and her helpful information on my getting a firearm transferred over from Kentucky, also for a fair price ($25). We’ll definitely be coming back!

We were there to get some chicks. They happened to have a breed that is a heavy laying breed. I was wanting some eggs this year, and these were quick layers as well. Very excited!They also have local honey products...honey sticks 3/$1!!!

Stopped by to contribute to local economy especially in today's troubled times as I firmly believe in that. I will NEVER spend another dime in this place. If I had employees that treat people like that they would be unemployed. I will go to Tractor supply across the street from now on.

From the first time (of six times in 3 months) I entered this store, it felt like I was privileged to even look around much less spend my money. I had gone in on a recommendation from a friend. I had intended to purchase chicks and all the equipment and feed for raising chickens. At first, I thought it was me and continued going in to try to order chicks and left my information and specific requests and was told I would be informed about those requests. I got no return calls. I was told, "I don't remember seeing your information, and all of the chicks in our next order are sold." I am disappointed to say the least as it is now getting a bit late for me to start my chicken project. I will not return to the Old Mill and will certainly advise my friends to do business elsewhere. It is a shame to be treated this way when you are trying to support a local business.

I have been to this store twice...The first time when I first moved to the area. I requested hog show feed and layer feed. The lady asked me what I was feeding and I told her my Juliana pigs.She rang me up and I had to drive around to pick up my order. The lady had changed my order to matzuri for potbelly pigs. I was livid! Firstly, I order what I want too. I have a BS degree in Animal science, I had 3 pigs that were pregnant and needed what I ordered. I was pissed the lady thought she knew so much more and I must be an idiot because she needed to change my order.I never ever went back til this year, where I was met by a younger version of the lady, a upper tennis or early 20's who argued with me about medicated chick feed is no longer available without a prescription. I have bought it from Walmart Mart and Onate where I buy my horse feed. it's rediculous how stupid they assume their customers are and then how they will change your order to what they want you to have. I will never ever shop there again.
