I have a dog with Addisons Disease and they have been taking care of her. She goes once a month for a shot. Always friendly, professional, and takes the time to answer all my questions. Highly recommend!

Dr. Gutierrez and his staff completely misdiagnosed our pet dog for having pancreatic and digestion issues over clogged intestines. Our pet was prescribed antibiotics, anti-nausea, and a pancreatic enzyme. The visit was a lofty bill - some for the visit, most for blood work that reflected normal (albeit commonly low for the breed) pancreatic levels. The antibiotics and anti-naseua medications helped our pet’s symptoms diminish. However, we still needed to purchase the enzyme powder and this clinic tends to throw a fat markup on their medicine, and will promptly play a game and dance with you knowing their “policy” is to not work with common third-party providers or clinics. They know you’re desperate, so you gotta buy into their offerings. From a place of deliberation - they KNOW it will take a week for the third party to receive their correspondence (thankfully we live in the information and technology age).Well - we waited for them to just go through our third party to receive that supposedly life-saving enzyme. Turns out my dog died before the enzyme ever even came-in. My dog didn’t die from a lack of enzyme in his pancreas. My dog died, and my family was goose-chased, because of Dr. Gutierrez’ extreme display of negligence in his practice. Your practice used to be worth of something, and based off of our experience and several others coming through the woodwork - you lost your passion for profession.Marcos, I want my money back or I’m going to the state district attorney’s office and your licensing board.

Our dog, Gertie, has really bad car sickness so the drive to the vet is miserable for her and she gets so scared. I have to sit with her comforting her, holding her barf bag, while my husband drives. But when we get to the clinic and she recognizes the place and the staff, she is so happy. It really warms our hearts to see her reaction to the staff because animals have such good instincts and they know good people when they see them.

Refused to further look into and properly diagnose a family dog. After a HEFTY bill and refusal to allow medication through Chewy(WAY cheaper), his diagnosis WAS WRONG. We ask specifically to check for what inevitably killed our dog, and he said specifically no.Horrible situation that could’ve been prevented had he done his due diligence. 💔😭

Corrales Veterinary clinic is absolutely the best place to go for your ailing pets.Dr. Gutierrez has done a few surgeries for me and every time everything is perfect in the end. He just did eyelid surgery on my Doberman girl Lucy and it looks like a plastic surgeon has done it.The entire Staff is Professional, Friendly and very Caring.I highly recommend Corrales Veterinary. Clinic and Dr. Gutierrez. 💯

Used to be a great vet. I took all of my previous pets to Dr. Gutierrez, including my childhood dogs. Unfortunately, his clinic is not what it used to be. Please proceed with caution going to his practice. He no longer has face-to-face visits, instead offers curbside visits where you wait in your car and the tech takes your pet inside to be examined. The Dr. or his "liaison" will then call you on the phone from inside to discuss treatment. Zero contact visit is $72.With my dog in particular, Dr. Gutierrez preemptively diagnosed him with EPI and did not want to perform an X-ray. He only ordered tests in line with what his misdiagnosed him with, no other tests to rule out other possibilities. The full organ blood test and pancreatic screen (+office visit) were almost $600. When I spoke to Dr. Gutierrez within the next couple days, I asked that he walk me through how he ruled out testicular cancer or intestinal blockage (He was aware I have a toddler in diapers that could have potentially been ingested) given the symptoms my dog was having. He reassured me that it was an issue with my dogs GI tract and/or pancreas and that intestinal blockage "would have passed by now". He urged me to proceed with the treatment plan and administer the medication he prescribed.I am convinced he no longer has an X-ray machine at his clinic and instead gives an excuse as to why your pet does not need one—I believe he is unable to do X-rays now because no proper vet would dismiss such severe symptoms without doing other diagnostic tests such as an X-ray. Other reviews have shared a similar observation. Two weeks after my German Shepherd went to Dr. Gutierrez, he became so ill that he had to be carried to our car and taken to urgent care. I shared with the urgent care doctor the same symptoms that I told Dr. Gutierrez. She said German Shepherd's typically has digestive issues but that this case was much more than that. She ordered an x-ray and revealed that he did in fact have intestinal blockage, as I feared. The urgent care doctor reached out to Dr. Gutierrez but he was "out sick". It breaks my heart to share that my sweet German Shepherd had to be put down. He was only 5 years old--Dr. Gutierrez failed him. He had the duty to do more and to rule out other potential causes before guilting me into accepting his misdiagnosis. I could not be more heartbroken with this situation because the outcome was completely avoidable. Also, it should be noted that Dr. Gutierrez does not work with online pet pharmacies such as Chewy or Allivet--instead of approving online prescriptions remotely from his office, you must mail in a written prescription and wait upward of a week to receive it. Dr. Gutierrez said it is a policy choice to not work with third-parties. For reference, my dog was prescribed a 12oz container of Epizyme powder: $135.99 on Chewy/anywhere online, but Dr. Gutierrez charges $240 for the same product. It is extortion and he is taking advantage of patients who do not know any better. Not that the powder would have resolved my dogs intestinal obstruction, but I also want to share that because I had to mail in the prescription, I did not receive the medication until after my dog had passed away.Shame on Corrales Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Gutierrez. Your misdiagnosis, misplaced confidence, overall complacency, and lack of empathy for your patients cost us hundreds of dollars, the opportunity to have time for the proper treatment for my pup, and most importantly, robbed our family of a companion and furry family member.Disappointing to say the very least.

Normally, the staff is pleasant except for one circumstance where I called to share some concerning symptoms my dog was exhibiting and the woman on the phone rudely cut me off, showed zero sympathy or care, and told me they 'could do nothing' for a week. I get it. They are booked and busy but she didn't even give me a chance to say that I would want to schedule my dog at their soonest availability- just told me where Algodones was. Rather than argue, I hung up and will be transferring all 3 of my dog's records elsewhere. Additionally, a few other visits were off-putting- it seemed that there was little to no care or consideration to our pets symptoms. They take the dog inside while we wait in the car, come out and tell us what the doctor said, and leave us no opportunity to ask questions. This alone wasn't enough to make us switch, but the super rude woman who interrupted me on the phone is enough of a bad experience to make me reconsider who cares for pets. A note to management: Yes, one disgruntled staff member and one bad interaction can make or break an experience and a relationship. You won't miss my money, i'm sure, you have plenty of other clients, but I hope they don't experience this same poor treatment in distressing situations.

I started taking my pups there about 6 years ago after Banfield told me to wait 5 weeks for an appointment to check a tumor on one of my pups. It was the BEST decision I've made for my pups. Since then, Dr. Gutierrez has done a total of 3 surgeries between the two pups. The staff is amazing, and you are not rushed when you ask questions and things are explained in ways that are easy to understand. I love the small town and family owned feel, and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pets like family.

My Toben had such a great first visit at Corrales Vet today! He is usually so scared, but he was great today and even stopped shaking. The techs were amazing and I was so happy they were able to trim his nails!I think Toben really liked that we could wait outside and then when we were inside he wasn’t shut in a room with no windows. He could see who was coming and going and loved to look out the window. So happy we found this amazing clinic!!!

Local vet, convenient, but as a senior is not a friendly nor credible business. My 8 yr old Yorkie had draining fissure on rt cheek below eye not resolving. Advised was due to cracked molar that needed extraction. Was quoted fee of $700-800 to do dental cleaning and extraction if more than 1 tooth needed pulling. Required pre-op blood panel of over $300.Post surgery told tooth not pulled and "may need to do next dental cleaning". They did no X-ray of cracker molar or area of fissure. I was charged me full estimate w/o extraction, $700+ for small dog just a standard dental cleaning is about double fee in this area. Two subsequent visits notes in pups record had no observations about the continued draining fissure still 2.5 months later. I was told things looked fine no further TX recommended. The Manager was hostile when I question fee given no extraction, and no x-ray, lack of progress notes of 2 f/up visits addressing draining scabbing fissure. This was primary reason for my initial contact here.Manager said dental cleaning estimate is $700-900 standard for dental cleaning there!!Friendly enough when I do not question practice and fees, but hot when raised these issues. Told not overcharged and go away. Why do I feel ripped off and his fissure continues draining. They ignored my email questions where I wrote these concerns so had to phone. Then told to go elsewhere. Apparent getting no resolution for his medical problems here. Am finding as I age that more people plan on my good nature and do not hesitate to take advantage. I am slower to assert myself as they seem amused with me. They don't realize I have a fully working mind. I tend to watch and see. May delay asking questions but am still on track. Was very disappointed and my pet still back at the beginning. No benefit here at all, and they gained over $1300 with added costs of visits.

PLEASE READ!!!!!I recently had my first visit with Corrales Veterinary Clinic. My Pepper was hurt... etc...Having been a Vet Tech in my early career. I have come to know what to expect from a poor clinic and an exceptional clinic.Corrales Veterinary Clinic is most certainly a exceptional clinic. The staff is nice and courteous. The practice is straight forward and to the point. Often other clinics prey upon the owner's fear and anxiety when our pet is injured or sick. The vet tech addressed my concerns but also my fear and anxiety. When training other Vet assistants and techs, I often said we don't just treat the pet. We also address the owner. They made me feel that I can trust my furry friend to them and have earned my business for a life time.Thank you to all the wonderful and capable (and easy on the eyes ;)) staff.

Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable caring veterinarians. They take time with their animal patients and are gentle with skittish animals.I was there with a close friend and her two small dogs. They knew them from previous visits and made sure to accommodate their unique needs. One her little dogs was so fearful. The table side manner of the veterinary assistants was very reassuring to the animals.

My friend loves this place. Despite Abernathy's claim in Rio Rancho, this isn't that far from them and can see you much sooner, and for much less! 2 dogs, first time visits establishing visits for both, about $87. Insanely good price this day and time! I can't even look at my vet without it costing $60!

I probably owe the staff at Corrales Veterinary Clinic the lives of one, possibly even two of my dogs. I recently had a situation arise where two of my young dogs ingested some roach poison. I called Corrales veterinary clinic and the receptionist quickly took down pups weights and details of the poison. She tracked the vet down and called back immediately saying that I needed to get the poison out ASAP and asked if I had any hydrogen peroxide handy. I told them that I could run and grab some from the store, which would have been about 20 minutes. They told me to just run by the clinic (3 minutes from my house) because that would be quicker and they gave me everything I needed right there, didn't even charge me. I got home and my dogs were puking all night. Later that evening, my youngest pup was having tremors, but that's the worst it got thanks to Corrales Veterinary Clinic and their quick, compassionate service. It's scary to imagine what may have happened if they hadn't been so responsive and helped me act quickly in an emergency situation. Picture of my two troublemakers who are still around to love on my children because of this veterinary clinic that went above and beyond for us.

Very polite caring staff. If a procedure is recommended and your pet will be going under Anastasia be sure to check your pet 100% to be sure nothing else needs to be done while your pet is under. They saved my dogs life no doubt , were completely honest of possible outcomes. The only thing is she has now been under 3 times within a years span of time where if myself or they had looked her over 100% it would of led to less procedures needing more work done while under Anastasia. I wouldn't bring my pets anywhere else as I have been to quite a few clinics between abq and rio rancho.
