If you're traveling through Corona, NM, and need to take a break from the long open roads, El Corral Café is the place to stop. Cristina is the hostess, cashier, busser, you name it! She's part of the family business, and it shows. She's got a very positive personality and is friendly to everyone who walks thru the front door. I stopped here 2 days in a row because of work. The food was made fresh and worth every penny. The first day, I ordered the cheeseburger with bacon and was not disappointed. The next day, I ordered the NM steak w/ fries, smothered with red chile, and that was even better. El Corral Café gets 5 stars from me for their great food and excellent customer serviceI would recommend them to anyone who's traveling thru Corona.Parking: Plenty of parking out front or the neighboring street. If you're in a big rig or even an RV, there's plenty of parking just across the road.Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms are not typical for anyone in a wheelchair. I saw a ramp going into the men's restroom, but it was not easy to get to. It's down a really narrow hall next to the kitchen. I didn't see a ramp going into the women's restroom, which was a little easier to get to. I also didn't notice any of your basic things like grab bars or anything else to really grab onto it needed.

Stopped in around 12:30p hoping for breakfast, but disappointed when we had to order from the lunch menu. Both breakfast and lunch menus are limited, so we assumed it wasn’t going to be what we needed…a good meal while traveling. Boy were we wrong! We “settled” on the chicken tender basket w/frys for the little one, and the combination platter, w/relleno and green sauce for both adults. It was SO good! The fry’s and chicken were also very good! Christine, the only waitress serving, seemed a bit standoffish at first, but then warmed up to be extremely friendly and efficient! We could then tell her initial demeanor was due to focusing on the lunch rush! We will be stopping here again on our way back through!! Cash ONLY, so bring enough for tip!Parking: It’s tight to park during the lunch rush, but it started to clear out around 12:30p.

Corona, NM, is such a small town that you can easily drive through it without noticing it. However, if you can find the El Corral Cafe, you will be treated to a warm and friendly restaurant hosted by a Senora with the biggest smile in these parts. Among her guests are genuine cowgirls and cowboys who find room to park their cattle trailers on the other side of the highway. After Thanksgiving, on the way home to Colorado, my wife and I stopped by the El Corral Cafe and found the perfect wood burning stove to warm our hands. We ordered pozole soup and chili rellenos that were delicious and satisfying. You will never find another restaurant with more authentic New Mexican cuisine and hospitality!

Family run and outstanding! We stopped on our way to Alamogordo. Everything was homemade. I ordered the green chili soup which came with ground beef, onions and cheese. It was a huge portion and delicious! I also had a chili relleno with amazing crispy batter smothered in delicious red chili enchilada sauce. I recommend this restaurant!!

Cute little cafe right on RT 54, easy to park our coach along the road. Busy Sunday morning when we walked in but almost immediately it thinned out with only two other tables occupied. But yet we waited seemed a long time to get our meals (bacon, eggs, oatmeal etc). There was lots of talking in the kitchen but I guess not much work, it shouldn't have taken that long for our simple orders when there were only two other tables occupied and they had already eaten. The bowl of oatmeal was HUGE, but she said kinda soupy. My scrambled eggs were a little burnt but I ate them anyway. Hash browns were nothing special. My bacon was crispy as I asked. All in all it was nothing special, but it was edible. Don't go out of your way to get breakfast there. Maybe they're known for their Mexican dishes. Oh yes, our toast was burnt too.

10/10 and definitely recommend if you’re traveling through the area. I had the combo meal with a taco, enchilada, and tamale. This is by far the best Mexican meal I’ve ever had. It is a little hole-in-the-wall + in the middle of (a beautiful, scenic)nowhere, but I believe this adds so much character. You can tell the pride and love cooked into the food.

This place is a real gem. Owned by a woman, Christina, whose sister does the cooking. Excellent food, good atmosphere and very clean. Everyone in town eats here. We camped nearby for two weeks and came here to eat several times. If you’re passing through and don’t stop, you’re really missing out. Need something in town? Ask Christina and she’ll tell you where you can get it. Such nice folks here!

Very tasty NM steak. Ground beef patty with green or red sauce rice and beans. Had the green and it was very tasty without being overly spicy.Beans and rice were good but not special. Best item was the tostada chips. They were good enough that there is real possibility they make them fresh.Service was especially friendly and the atmosphere was uniquely NM diner. My kind if place. Will definitely keep it our list of good places to stop when we are driving by.

Stopped by this establishment for a quick bite and food was phenomenonal. Outward appearance has traditional Mexican diner look to it. Inside appearance was all about food (to include poster about Hatch, NM and their renowned Chile).Tacos and rice were amazing. Both mom and daughter devoured them.Son was flip-flopping between choice of drinks. So the server (Possibly co-owner) and her daughter actually took him back with son's mom to the fridge so he could pick out his own drink.Burger and fries were delicious and very filling. French fry seasoning was some of the best I've ever had.Chips and salsa were good appetizer and had just enough to hold us over until food arrived.

Wonderful food and great service. Loved the mushroom Swiss burger. Tasted fresh. This was also the ONLY clean bathroom we have found in New Mexico.

Great family run restaurant. Looked like everyone from Grandparents down were there/helping. We stopped on a Sunday around 1230 for lunch. Was starting to get busy, but didn't have to wait too long. We had Mexican food, which was delicious. They look to have a full menu with breakfast, American, and Mexican choices. Will go again when we are in the area.

We can hardly wait to go back.Parking: Right in front of the entrance Kid-friendliness: Got to speak with the owner's son while there. He mb made a good impression on both of us.

I had lunch here in September 2019. The food is absolutely great. Nice atmosphere.Closing time was normally 3PM.June 2022 a sign had new hours on the door showing they are closed Saturdays, the day I stopped. Sign said open Sunday mornings but when I stopped they were closed.Still a great place to eat.
