We like to eat local while traveling. This came highly recommended.I had grilled porkchops. My husband had the brisket. Our salad was good, crisp, cold.Porkchops were so dry. Dipping in the BBQ sauce helped a little. The brisket was even worse. I couldn't eat the mashed potatoes, they were like glue and the gravy had an odd flavor and did not help. We were too tired to complain and try a different place.

We tried the smothered burrito, smothered burger and corn dog.The green chili was not what we were expecting. It tasted more like enchilada sauce than green chili. Our favorite was the corn dog.

Chicken fried steak was nasty. Greasy. No flavor. Mashed potatoes were like lumpy glue. Green beans mushy. Salad and salad dressing was warm when it came to the table. Didn’t try the calf’s fries. Testicles aren’t my thing. Spent over $30.00 for food I gave to my dogs. Dogs gave it 1 star. Will not be back.Wheelchair accessibility: Appreciate it.

The environment was cozy and welcoming, the service wasn’t so nice. We were passing through on a Sunday and it felt like a few locals were joining us in the restaurant. Our waitress was a little abrasive and rushed with us, but was laughing with other tables. The food was delicious, exceeding my expectations. My husband said his dish, however, was good but was cold, as if the meat was made the day before and just heated up. Overall, a good, quiet place to stop.

Worst place I’ve ever been. Steak was not not made from steak meat, salmon was just warmed in the microwave, no spices no salt. Awful. Look at this chicken fried steak)))

I can't speak to the steaks but I can speak to the Mexican menu. They serve some of the best tamales I've ever had. My wife agrees with that assessment as well. Service was good but they weren't very friendly. That didn't mean the service was bad, just not over the top. Food quality was excellent. Green chili was amazing! Just enough spice to make it enjoyable but not a tongue burner! Great spot for food on Wed and Sunday.

We were here while on an overnight stop. This appears to be a local favorite. There was a friendly, community atmosphere. The food was very good. Service was efficient and friendl, though busy. We like to chat with the staff about local stuff as part of our travel experience, but that did not happen here; the server was too busy to stop. No complaints.

We stopped in while passing through on a Sunday. We both had the tamale plate. These were some of the best tamales I've ever had! Green chili sauce was excellent as well. Even the beans and rice were seasoned well. Service was quick as well. Overall a great dining experience. We will be returning!

Not a bad place to stop when traveling through. It wasn't busy, the 1 staff there was taking orders, serving, cleaning and running the register and the phone. The burger my husband and I had was a good burger and the meat patty was very good. We just had water.Clayton,NM doesn't have many options late in the evening. We will probably eat there again.

So we were somewhat disappointed. The food was not bad just not outstanding. Mexican is only available Wednesday or Friday, I believe. Although we did see some locals eating Mexican on a Thursday. So if you are local you might get hooked up with Mexican. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. She was very busy but took good care of us. It was a place to eat in a town with very limited options.

Thank goodness for Wild Horse! Got stuck in Clayton during our recent travels (thank you crazy snow storm). Food was average, but man it was warm and comfy. I will say if you find yourself here, most of the food is over priced BUUUT you gotta get the Okra!!!! It’s absolutely delicious!
