Booked room for 2 nights for my family and our 2 pups. The 1st night we were there, we were attacked by bed bugs, forced to throw away all the clothes we packed all our dogs belongs. Horrible managment wouldn't give me a refund or a refund for the pet deposit. Until threatened with a law suit. Also future guests the pet deposit is pocketed by the lady manager on duty. To buy her personal items, she was very rude and upset that she had to give my pet deposit back. I recommended the quality inn on down the road. 1000% better. Clayton motel needs to be shut down for bed bugs.

Literally we called ahead 30 minutes and they sold our room saying we should've made a reservation. The rooms look disgusting with random doors open with empty rooms. The managerial staff was unprofessional. If you can avoid this place you should just pay the extra like 20-30 bucks and get a good room that offers real amenities and are professional to guests. We found a Quality Inn maybe 5 minutes away and the difference is night and day.

I read many of the reviews and they range from great to awful. It's old and shabby looking and no Wi-Fi even though it's advertised.The window AC is not big enough for the room, though it eventually cooled the room down overnight. My husband had to kill 5 moths and 4 other flying bugs in the room. Stains on the carpet. The bed was kind of strange, as it was worn out so they put a thick topper on it, but better than some at more expensive places we've stayed. The manager was friendly and helpful.

I was happy when I saw my room. It smelled nice, not the usual musty smell that you expect from an older motel. The room was clean, cute & cozy. Loved the little touches like the vintage rocking recliner, and toasty gas heater. My pillows & bed were comfortable. They have directv too which is nice. I would definitely stay there again! Nice folks too; they have an unusual 10 am checkout time, but they gave me a later checkout when I asked nicely :) I enjoyed my stay. They run a nice motel!

Lady running it was sweet but facility was disappointing. Our parking spot was taken by inconsiderate neighboring guest, room was not clean, bed was broken in the shape of extremely obese former guest, no wifi, not even TV except for variety of infomercials 24/7, windows were not fully curtained, secure or lockable, plumbing was out dated so toilet kept overflowing, no plunger available and the room had no phone so we couldn't call for assistance. But still better than the inhospitable 2-star alternatives in town who employ rude, dishonest punks at the reception desks.

Here for three days on an unexpected stop in Clayton, New Mexico. The owner is incredibly pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are decently sized, with microwaves and coffee makers. Televisions as well- if that suits your fancy. It's four blocks from a delightful local coffee shop. 25 minute drive from Clayton Lake State Park. The prices were very reasonable, and I couldn't have been happier with this little unexpected gem. No bugs, and large, clean beds. The bathroom definitely have toiletries and towels, and the location is literally less than a minute from the main highway going through the town. Perfect for any traveler on a budget.

Boiler heat non functional...no hot water to the radiator...mattress was worn out years ago...I wouldn't return...probably nicer in my camper van other than a toilet to useThe room was clean, the location is quiet...had the room had a newer mattress and heat it would have been a reasonable visit for the price

Is funky, but it is the one place our family has always gone to when travelling home from our vacations to the high mountains of Colorado to Oklahoma. Rooms are always clean and have never had any troubles while staying here. Staff very attentive and we appreciate this family owned business!

Terrible motel. Sign says "cable tv". Room has direct tv with local channels and home shopping. No room phone. No heat. One available outlet in the room. Could have slept in my tent and gotten the same amenities. I got yelled at by the "manager" when I locked my key in the room. Then she threatened to call the owner, I said I wished she would but apparently she didn't.Would give a zero if the option were available

Me and the DooDaw swung in for the night. My little dog and I needed a nice clean room with lots of space and a quiet atmosphere. They delivered. We recommend the Clayton Motel to any and all travelers who don't need pools, sauna's, weight rooms, breakfasts and all that. Spacious room, courteous staff and clean, clean clean!

Tried to get a room earlier this week on the way out of town but the woman who was supposed to be front desk couldn't be bothered to leave her room long enough to do business. She didn't even open her door to rudely tell us to go away just said it through her window. I guess the whole family lives there because no one was at the desk but a woman said through her window the front desk woman was in a different room and that's when the other woman rudely said check in wasn't for another hour and to leave. I was already concerned when it looked more like a cheap shady motel turn run down appartments. My advice is to steer clear unless you're desperate or like subpar inn keepers

If I could rate them lower. I would. $60 will get you a room with a queen bed and 3 television stations. You won't get WiFi, bath towels, a telephone, a trash can or refrigerator. I'm not sure what happened to the great staff mentioned in the other reviews. But they definately were not on duty for my stay.

This place was better than sleeping in a car, but way far from a nice one. Probably not worth the money spent, but it was better to stay there than spending a night outside. Extremely outdated, it also did not smell well at all, and it was cold.

Way to pricey for this run down motel so save yourself a trip 4 blocks out of town to come to this trashy motel with poor service. I've stayed in nicer places for less. On line says $60 plus tax and fees $68 then when you get there it's $84 plus they want to charge you an extra $15 for pet fees I should have went somewhere else

The price was great for we burly had any money due to having to come ASAP because our Grandma was passing, I think total time we stood in the room 10 hrs , the lady that help us was awesome very friendly, well other then the room being hot as heck even with the little window unit ac on high cool, the chairs were disgusting who knows what was on them, we literally had 4 channels, I looked behind the tv see if the cables were connected and the wires were shredded, room states it had WiFi,nope they ain't got that either, went to the office to ask the lady that checked is in and no one ever came.. the sheets had blue pain stains on them we used our own blankets, pillows etc. The restroom had colorful duck tape for a fix on the toilet that burly flushed, the sink in the restroom was also broken and they fixed it with a rubber stamp and tissue.. so we woke up this morning my son was at a swing they have while we were loading up the car to leave, will this lady a couple rooms down goes out and starts screaming at my 9 year old son that was just swinging that he better not be throwing rocks, and where was he from, where did he belong??? My son was so afraid he walked back crying!!!! Mind you I'm just right there, this lady saw he was with us, we were watching him and all he was doing was swinging.. the people that live in that motel are very RUDE, I would of rather slept in our car then pay for that nasty room.. I'm not 100% sure but I think there are bed bugs, my children and I couldn't stop itching.. and I think it's funny they have an allergy sign when the room wreaked of MOLD..most definitely if you are short on money this place is for u, but I DO NO RECOMMEND STAYING HERE...Here are pictures,

My family had been on the road a while and was getting late and after trying some of the other places in the area that had no vacancy we stopped here to try and get a room. It was very eery and the people running the front desk told my husband that he doesn't want to be there and we should leave asap. It was creepy to say the least.

I have been staying here lil over a week and a half and have enjoyed the clean cozy room, friendly manager, and the convenience of the free Wi-Fi. I totally recommend this place if ur looking for comfort and affordable prices!

This is a real traveler's motel. Clean, cheap, and easy. Loves doesn't have beer, but the Allsups does.

Broke down and found Clayton Motel, the shop gave me a ride since I had no transportation. Check in was not until 2 PM but they let me check in early and I had a room for the night. Thank you, Clayton Motel

the location is on one of the edges of town so fits as a good location to be away from traffic. nice family enviroment extremely helpful.
