Today, we went to the St James Hotel in Cimarron, NM EST. 1872. Located on the Santa Fe Trail and National Historic Landmark. The Saloon, Lambert's Place, was opened in 1872 and became known for bullets, gunfights, and famous patrons. At least 26 people have lost their lives in the hotel saloon. Today you can see the bullet holes that still remain. Many on the ceiling. In spite of this, hotel rooms were added and became known as one of the finest thriving business . The history lives on at Lambert's and TJ''s Bar at the St James Hotel. Some padt guests were the Earp Brothers, Buffalo Bill Cody, Lew Wallace, Ben Hur, Zane Grey, Jesse James, Clay Allison and Annie Oakley! A must see from the past. You'll see the rooms they stayed in. Really cool!

First time buying Western ware, and they couldn't have made it easier. 5 stars because the woman at the counter who helped me was very polite and helpful without being overbearing. It was a little pricey, but as she said, "It ain't cheap being a cowboy." Very happy with the selection available there, and will certainly be back next time I'm in town.

If you need western clothing, boots, hats and the like, this is the place. The very best. And they have good prices. Always good service, and they have a leather shop for custom or specialty needs.
