The room was comfy. Helped out with my technical problems...(couldn't connect to wifi) professionally. Oh! Getting the room and getting into our room was super easy! Showers and water worked great. Was a good spot to spend the night after a long day of driving.Thanks for helping us out Barb!

my family (toddler, husband, and i) had an extended stay at the y motel from may - august 2022. barbara was so accommodating and quick to help us when we were in a rough spot waiting for a rental to pop up. we rented room 14 (1 bedroom, kitchen, living room, and bathroom) and it was the perfect size for us-and that’s with everything we own in it too. the location is perfect!! grocery store across the road, gas station to the right, and a short drive to down town for some food and shopping. our place was extremely clean when we moved in and i loved having access to a spot in the backyard for our son to play and explore. i always felt safe and secure and it felt like home the whole time we stayed. i’ve never met people with such kind souls and big hearts. if you’re looking for comfort, affordability, safety, and convenience, the y motel is your spot!!

2 stars for Barb who was sweet & helpful. Room 1 was extremely small, refrigerator had melted goop and bug droppings in it. No hot water, no heat - the carpet was gross.It is hunting season so the price soared & with taxes it was $99.The TV worked.

The rooms are very warm comfortable and inviting. The price is reasonable for the location. Right across a grocery store and next to a gas station. The owner is very sweet and does an amazing job. She was more the helpful at 2:30am. I'd say it's kid safe but like I said the location is also busy. I will definitely be returning to this motel in the future. The service was fast and simple. Honestly I was very happyly please with the over all experience. Stop by and stay hi at THE Y MOTEL

The room didn’t look like the pics online and was very small (barely fit a queen size bed). The interior walls were paper thin. We could here the folks in the next room every time they went to the bathroom including throwing up at 5:15 am. It appeared that only the folks next to us and my wife and I were the only ones there so separating us would have seemed to make more sense considering the thin walls but instead they put us in rooms right together. There was a coffee pot in the room but no coffee? The room was clean but otherwise I can’t recommend this place.

Barb was awesome. She is so helpful. The rooms were comfy.However, the cleaning lady was a legit psychopath, and she left a sour taste in our mouths so we changed hotels after one night.

I stayed in the single bedroom, now I cant attest to the quality of the bigger rooms... but this small room really reflected the cheap price. Coffee maker in room, with no instant coffee! Shower and sink with no complimentary soap! Shower was tiny and couldn't hold temperature; it kept switching from sweltering to freezing, at will. No tissues in room, half used toilet paper, sketchy people constantly making racket in the rooms next door, and the room was built so cheaply I feared someone could break the walls down. The service was nice and professional but the front office was crowded, messy and outdated. It's okay if you're on a budget, or if you just want a quick place to lay your head for the night; but they miss the mark in a few key areas. I might return if the conditions require it. I mean, what else would you expect from a hotel that costs HALF of what others in the area cost?

The room I rented looked like a jail cell! You walk in and have a bunk bed, small fridge, and a microwave. Than I walk in bathroom and no shower. Would anyone really take a bath when who knows who has been in it! We call the lady to ask why there is no shower in the room or air conditioning..her reply is that none of the rooms have air conditioning and that most of Chama doesn’t either. Not even a fan in the room to cool off in the summer or screen on window. Wow! Than I go to my friends room and I was just so disgusted. The room had not been cleaned before it was rented out..rags were thrown on the side of the sink in bathroom, trash behind toilet, the mat in the bathtub was moldy!! So awful! Fridge was dirty with someone’s milk who left it in there and the smell was not pleasant in the room at all. They were told the housekeeper never showed up and that they had sent someone else to clean it. But nope, never was cleaned and who knows what other rooms weren’t cleaned before they were rented out. They are contactless rentals. My friends and I were just blown away that no one had checked the room to make sure it had been cleaned before they rented it out. We were all in disbelief! I would not recommend reserving from them in advance or even to stay there. Very poor service. Tear it down and start from scratch. Put in air conditioning and showers in each room and make sure they are CLEAN before renting!! Stay away!!

We stayed two nights (two adults & 2 children.) We had a lovely room with 3 beds, 2 queen and one twin. It had a kitchen as well. The room was nice and cozy. It had a sectional. The owner was so sweet. We loved our stay here. The room was clean and well kept. They are in the process of upgrading the property. The prices are so reasonable as well.

I want to thank Barb and Chad for everything 😊 The customer service was beyond phenomenal 🤩 We live in Florida.. Barb sent me pictures and room rates… She communicated with my guys until their arrival… She had everything ready for them before they arrived and even informed us about local places to shop and eat… She took extra care to make my guys feel like they had a home away from home.. The room was so clean and cozy 😍 My husband works for OCI and they really made him and his cousin feel welcomed.. I would recommend anyone and every one to this hotel… It’s a little piece of quite heaven… Thank you again for welcoming and taking care of them during their stay… ❤️

To make a laundry list of what's terrible about the Y motel would be a novel. Barbara was kind and courteous on the phone, the room wasn't dirty and the key was waiting for us just as she said at 9:30 at night after 18 hours driving across America. But it's obviously decision time- either enjoy whatever LCD clientele that return to this standard of lodging or completely reboot the existing structure at enormous expense or get the local bulldozer guy to come in and start over from scratch... naturally great commercial real estate. She knows her lodging market...i don't. This experience was south of one star.

I stayed there a couple nights and I liked my stay in the old school Y Motel.I want to thank Mike for his kindness and hospitality. We spent some time conversing those days I stayed and I realized us know thats why I got to get out travel and talk to people, you find out interesting things about them. Rooms are a little small and its nothing luxurious but maybe its not supposed to be, so don't let that scare you off, like I said its kind of old school probably dating back the at least the 1960's going by the vintage sign and even still had an old phone booth out front. Man you never see those anymore. So the spot has charm. Pretty quiet at night too for the most part. Thanks again Mike.

It’s a classic, I like old properties with history, this has been home away from home for me with all my travels. It’s clean, affordable and quiet. This motel has came a long ways with professional friendly management, and I love opening my window above my bed and smelling the pastures, horses, mountain air. Thank you Y Motel for always having a room available for me, late nights on the road. :)

It was perfect for $43 a night. Shower didn't drain and the beds were uncomfortable but what can you expect for that price. Awesome for getting out of the rain and drying clothes on the heater. Lady was nice at front desk as well.

Stayed 13 weeks, so I got to know the nice older, hard working, diplomatic owner and the manager is the total opposite...lazy , lying, flaky, fake smile, & crazy. Good rate. No Wifi, no sport TV, no room service for 5 weeks out of 13 weeks, how can she forget that we agreed to clean the room & exchange linen once a week? Said I am confrontational because I asked " why wasn't my room clean for 2 weeks as agreed?"

You get what you pay for haha its $60 you can't expect much. The bed was actually pretty comfortable and the fridge and microwave worked. The little table was nice and convenient.Rooms: The shower in room 2 was very sketchy looking and the walls between the rooms were very thin.Walkability: The grocery store is right across the street and the gas station is next door

Really bad broken down beds, old old furniture (what there was of it) and no electrical plugs. We went and bought lightbulbs because we could barely see. I had to clean years of dead bugs out of the light shade on the ceiling when we put it back up. Owner nice but this place needs a lot of work. Only stayed because nothing else was available and should have paid 1/2 of what we did.

Room looked very lived in clean sheets and towels and a place to lay my head 38 dollars for 3 bedroom didn't need.I couldn't get the heat working not sure it does 27°not nice slept in clothes. You very what you pay for and Ann was nice and fun to talk to.

The lady running this place Sheeon (sorry for any misspelling!) is so gracious and welcoming. She has a great dog who will visit if you’re nice. And the prices are affordable. What more could you need? Good vibes, would recommend.

As a long distance hiker, I care about price, cleanliness, and proximity to laundry. This hotel had it all. The owner hung out with us on the porch and told us stories about her very cool life. The laundry is just across the street and there are great food options nearby. While not near downtown Chama - this is the place you should stay if you are hiking the Continental Divide Trail and need a rest day in Chama.

She is the reason that we decided to stay. She helped us find a place to keep our horses over night. We will definitely be back.

Stepped on a USED needle in my room. Owner refused to address issue, made up any possible alternate scenario and called me a liar as though I could benefit from making that up and really wanted to go to the doctors 3-4 times to get tested for bloodborne disease for fun. Accidents happen but their response to this incident in my opinion is reprehensible. Suffice it to say that I don't think much of the place. Don't stay here.

Loved Sheon, the GM, have great places for an overnight, and also have kitchenettes from 1-6 people. Right off the "Y"! Food King, Speedway and quaint! Were BBQing with a deer(unbeknownst) right beside us!Definitely going back!
