Those RV park is the best one we have stayed at yet. Immaculate restroom and showers; great water pressure. Felt like camping at a luxury park with lots of green and trees, big fields of wild grass, a large fenced in dog area to let your dog go leash free. The hosts and owners were AMAZING - so helpful and friendly. We can't wait to go back in the late spring/early summer. Quiet spots right along the river, or away from the river, too. Lots of deer, and one practicallybwalked up to our RV window! Also lots of lovely flowers and chipmunks!!

We stayed a week at Sky Mountain and would highly recommend it. We had originally booked a riverside spot but had some mechanical issues and had to postpone a couple weeks. Unfortunately, there were no riverside spots available when we arrived and we were placed in a pull-thru. The park is clean and well managed, has beautiful trees and lots of shady spots. Unfortunately again, we didn’t get one of those. It was usually around 7:30 PM before the sun would get down far enough to enjoy sitting outside, even with our awning. Just a thought….if the coaches were parked the other way on the first pull-thru row, patios would have afternoon shade 😉. We didn’t use the restrooms or laundry but everything else we saw as meticulously kept. We would stay again but not in a pull-thru.

There's no better campground in Northeast New Mexico! We've stayed here many times to enjoy the sites and sounds along the Rio Chama River. Friendly staff, spotless restrooms and ample things to do in the area; all found under the shade of huge cottonwood trees. Come and experience what camping is all about, you won't be disappointed!

Sky Mountain RV is one of the nicest RV parks I have stayed in, and I have stayed in a few. It is clean, peaceful, quiet, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The Chama river is a stones throw away and the view is amazing. Sky Mountain RV park is tucked away off the main road which makes it nice and quiet. I had a rough drive getting to the park due to weather and found the host and staff there to be refreshing and helpful. This will be my go to RV park in Chama. My family and I had an amazing time and we can't wait to go again.Walkability: The walk along the Chama River is peaceful and beautiful. There is easy access from the RV park.

This RV Resort is one of the most relaxing, quiet places we have visited. We had the most coveted location at the resort next to the forest and the river, we felt like we were in heaven! I can not comment on the bathrooms/showers/laundry as we never used those facilities during our stay, however I am certain they are in great condition. I will say, if you stay in the middle of the park with a longer rig, there is limited space for your towing vehicle. This rv park is a gem in Chama! Thanks for an amazing week!

This place is a hidden gem! It is beautiful, clean, and everyone there was so friendly. While we didn't have our fur baby on this trip, many did, and the park is so accommodating to pups! The also have the sweetest pup to help you check in. The location is perfect and you can tell by how pristine they keep this place that they truly are owners who care. We were guided into our spot (we're newbies) and couldn't have been happier with out spot under the canopy. (spot 9) We will most definitely be back! Thanks for a great vacation!!

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the park and wish we had stayed even longer. The park is well maintained and the bathhouse and laundry facilities are very clean. The Chama river was beautiful and right behind the campground which was amazing. We enjoyed seeing the deer and birds. The staff and other guests were very friendly. We were traveling with two teenagers and a puppy and had no issues. The park is pet friendly and as long as your children are respectful to other campers and the park you shouldn’t have any issues. We will definitely be back.

I stayed here for two nights while the city was replacing a water line at my home. This is a very friendly campground with a clean restroom and shower area. Check in was seamless with a guide taking me to my site and directing me in.Nearby activities: Cumbres and Toltec Railroad is located close by. It is an awesome trip. The campground is located on the Rio Chama although the recent high water washed out part of the riverbank.

Fantastic location. Super friendly owners. But what impressed me most was the shower building. After having travelled all over the place for years these were without doubt the cleanest, I mean spotless, facilities I’ve ever used. A strange thing to focus on maybe? But I was just blown away. Did I say super friendly owners? Short drive to restaurants in town. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Really helpful staff. Level sites. Convenient FHUs.I really appreciated the sign up for the laundry room. Works really well. Great idea. An electric problem was repaired as quickly as possible. They do enforce their rules which is nice to see. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.

Love this place! The owners are the nicest people, super helpful, the park is so clean and the chama river runs behind it , if your lucky to snag a spot by the river, you can fish from your yard, so awesome. It was memorial weekend and they had a band, such a nice touch. They sell adorable handmade items for the locals in the office, you can pick up gifts or souvenirs because they are quality items .I can't wait to come back. The only negative was , some of the guests were to lazy to go around so they were crossing through occupied sites, camping etiquette people!! Even though it clearly says not to on the rules they hand you when you check in, read them people.

I have nothing bad to say about the facility it is very nice and well kept up. The issue I had was with I assume the owner my son and I where passing thru and wanted to just drive thru the grounds and take a quick look to possibly make some reservations. We normally dry camp but thought it would be nice to have hook ups. When we arrived we were met at the entrance by an older gentleman asking if we were staying there I explained my request and he hesitantly said ok that he would get me a visitors pass. When the gentleman returned he was a but aggressive and continued to tell me he didn't want any partying going on its quite and he plans on keeping it that way. I explained that it wasn't my intention to "party" but he kept on with the lecture. I feel it was both rude and extremely judgemental not to mention stereotyping us. I will not be staying here with family and due the judgemental behavior I don't recommend you do either. We went next door to down home lodge and rv park and they were amazing and helpful. We will be staying there.

Sky Mountain Resort RV Park is as good as it gets. If we could give it more than 5 stars, we would. We were welcomed by Julia & Bill as soon as we arrived, and have felt "at home" ever since. If you're looking for peace & tranquility, this is the place to be. We feel fortunate to be on a river site, but all of the other sites are lovely too. You can't go wrong staying here. Our only regret is we didn't schedule more time for our stay. We will be back!

One of our favorite places we stayed on our vacation. We spent 2 nights at the Sky Mtn RV Park and wished we had stayed more. The park is just outside of Chama and within driving distance of some beautiful Northern NM and Southern CO scenery. All the sites are full hookup and most seemed very easy to access. We stayed in the tree area and I would definitely choose this area again. The public restrooms and laundry facility was clean and within reasonable distance. The dog play area was great. It is divided into 2 areas so dogs could be separated if needed. The area was roomy enough for most dogs to expend some energy. The owners were super nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this area to anyone who may be visiting the area. After returning to the 95 plus degree TN heatwave it is tempting to load up and head back up to the cooler temps of NM.

Another amazing trip is in the books! A great time was had by all. There’s a nice dog run for the dogs. Ample hills and flat lands where the boys can ride their bikes. The river provides a peaceful ambiance (we’re so not the fisherfolk). It’s a great escape for the family, and we won’t go anywhere else. Bill & Julia are by far the best hosts we’ve come across! They’ve given our sons ice cream, helped us with a broken bicycle, aired up our spare tire after helping us change a flat camper tire, and (prior to COVID) always provided great entertainment for the entire park in the middle of their beautifully maintained park. We highly recommend Sky Mountain—wish we could give it 10 stars.

We stayed 8 nights on spot 6 along the river and it was amazing! Bill and Julia are the owners and they are the best! You can fish in the river or just enjoy the soothing sounds from your camper. There are 10 or less river side spots which are big enough for large motor homes. The tree canopy spaces are nice too. The laundry area AVS bathrooms were closed due to Covid. The gated area for dogs was nice. We did use bug spray often due to mosquitoes. It is a short drive to town to the grocery store. Chama is a cute but very small town. We could have easily stayed a month here! Many of the people we talked to have been coming to this campground for years. We will return!

We have always loved staying here but there is no personal correspondence anymore. All reservations are online and then a note to say, NOPE with no explanation. We would love to talk to a real person but they don’t answer their phone. Do they have new owners? So sad!We are sorry we did not know you could leave a message or get a call back. It stated online reservations only. We assumed we had picked an area that was not available and because we were not staying long enough . Just a reply saying that this was a busy time in Chama would have been nice. I’m so sorry for this misunderstanding, and yes, we are very kind, but the lack of personal response was very sad to us. That was a different response for us.

The owner's and their park helpers go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible! This sets the tone of the park!! Everyone is so friendly!! Within days you feel like family! This is a wonderful low key park to visit when you need a beautiful safe place to relax and take in the local rusticness that is Chama! The park is small but the sites are bigger than most all other parks we have stayed in anywhere! Which is what make it so charming! Restrooms and laundry are very clean! Bonus! There are sites for all tastes! Sun lovers, shade, river, pull throughs and all on very nice gravel pads! No mud yeah!!! Every year it gets more beautiful!! Cant wait to come back!!! Very happy camper!!

Sky Mountain is on the Rio Chama and was my home away from home for years until I bought a local cabin. Proprietors Bill & Julia treat you like family. Excellent shower facilities, abundant hummingbirds and even a dog run. Great place to unwind and get back in touch with nature. You won't be disappointed!

We also were told a site was available and when we arrived it was not. The owners seemed to have used this scam in the past. Do not sign a waiver form until you have seen the site. Please report this practice to the Chamber of Commerce and the New Mexico Tourism if it has happened to you. The campground is okay but is not a resort by any standard. The owner charged my MasterCard immediately and I had to contact them to have the charge disputed. Do this immediately. If your reservation was made from a different state you can also contact the Interstate Commerce Commission.

We spent a fantastic week at Sky Mountain RV Park, week of July 17-24. 2016. We have never experienced a campground so quiet. Only thing you hear is numerous hummingbirds, and the beautiful Chama river running along the backside of the park. We were in site 13, in our 32 ft. 5th wheel. We had plenty of room. Park stayed full. I have nothing but high praises for the owners, doing a superb job. Thank you Bill and Julia for a memorable week. Hope to return next year.

I read the reviews about kids. I have 12 grandkids and we have 6 campers in all. Looks like you cater to out-of-stater tourists that stay longer in your park. I hope more people read reviews like I did. It's a shame that we in state residents that have been locked up and our kids have not been able to enjoy camping won't be allowed in your park. Those kids did not hurt anyone I'm sure. I'm sure Little Creel accepts kids in theirs.
