Not hunter friendly! Management was very rude and accusatory towards my military veteran husband. There was a miscommunication of a question we asked. The "owner" was very rude and was very adamant that my husband was lying and "doing what he wanted too". He wouldn't listen to my husband's explanation, just kept saying he didn't believe him and that he was lying. They made no attempt to resolve the issue and kicked us out of the RV park and would not refund us for 4 nights and 4 days of parking. When I made the reservation for 6 nights, there was no mention or charge for parking. They charged us an extra $89.00 when we checked in for parking. Also, the bathhouse is permanently closed. There was no mention of this on their website. This RV park in the past before the new owners was always full of hunters. Not anymore, which is sad because Chama has a lot of hunting in the surrounding area. Their loss.

I would like to start off by our camp site was really beautiful we got a pull thru site by the river. We were here for a wedding and wanted the wedding party to go by for dinner. We were told we could only have two vehicles at our site so we wouldn't be able to, plus it was $5 a day for a pass each vehicle. We paid for a late checkout so we could make some brunch for some family that paid the $5 to come in. I'm not sure if it was the owner or a worker but as the time got closer for us to leave he was standing there watching us the whole time tear down camp and when we finally pulled out of the spot, yes we were out of there by 1:12 when the late check out was at 1 (our fault for getting out of there a little later than we were supposed to be). I was confused on where to leave because the lady at the front desk drew out on the map where I was to go through but the road was closed off and said do not enter, so I drove over to the guy staring at us the whole time and asked him if we could go out through another area since we couldn't where she had told me to. He starts off right away by telling us were not supposed to be back in that area, they don't like people driving back there. He said you're supposed to back up out of your site and I told him that I couldn't because the people next to us their vehicle was in the way and he said you could have knocked on their door and asked them to move it or came and got me and I would have made them move it. I was confused at this point because the lady at the front desk told us differently and I couldn't go out through where she said because it was blocked off. Plus on top of that we paid for a pull thru site, we shouldn't have had to back out of there. He was rude the whole time talking to us. I even showed him the map where she drew where we needed to drive to and he still insisted that I was in the wrong. Not sure if we were treated differently because we were locals compared to the other comments on here but we will not be returning to this campground.

I am puzzled by the negative reviews and can only comment that the campground policies are clearly stated in the email I received when I checked in. If you violate the policies you should expect consequences.I found the site to be pleasant and peaceful. Many sites are on the lovely river, they are level and hard gravel. WiFi is great (30mbs) enough to stream Netflix. We did not use facilities but enjoyed our stay and would stop here again.

5, 4, 3...Stars, because, I will get to that in a sec. This is a beautiful, well maintained, good enough location and nicely staffed park! A 5 Star start to a place I recommend! However, the WiFi is junk. I assumed it was usable for low requirement workloads the week I was there, but it is not even surf-able. Minus 1 Star. To their credit, they are installing fiber throughout the park, which will be awesome, but for now, do not count on it. The second Star deduction is the most troubling, to me. When I reserved in June for an August stay, my credit card was charged. Okay, I will keep that in mind. Fast forward to check-in. They claim I have not paid. So I am charged again. I have paid twice, for the same exact stay. After the next three days of back and forth, including talking with my credit card provider, Little Creel still insisted I prove my card was charged! Have you ever heard of that? I took photos of and provided cropped relevant sections of statements, but LC made them suspect. All this after a search ON THEIR COMPUTER, found the charge! Fast forward again to about a month after the stay, including an ignored email, a few phone calls, then one last opportunity, I receive the credit. Nobody should ever have to go through something like this from a reputable business. It will forever tarnish my experience, and I will never understand why. But again, despite all that, I would recommend this park.

LaTryle was extremely helpful and accommodating. We stayed 2 nights in a lovely shaded spot, just a short walk to the Chama River that circles around the edge of this campground. It is a family, kid, and pet friendly place; we really enjoyed all of the children playing, folks fishing, and families gathering. The weather was wonderful and it was peaceful at night.

Although we were only here for one night as we made our way to Utah, we LOVED this park! The owner was sweet enough to upgrade us to a site right on the river with a deck and a beautiful view. It was a little tight pulling through since we didn't want to unhook our tow, but we just made it. The bathrooms/showers weren't open when we were there--not sure if that's a covid thing or something else, but we would have taken advantage if they had been. My kids had fun playing in the stream and my husband did a little fishing--a perfect way to end a day of driving. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever passing through.

I live in Albuquerque and have been coming to Little Creek since 2003. This past weekend I went to Chama to help celebrate the passing of a well known and loved Chama resident. Most know her by Patsy. I was appalled at the disrespect received from the owner's. They insisted on charging family members 5.00 per person to just visit not stay just visit our campsite. Sad. No compassion to the family members. Just pay or get out. Won't come back ever again.

What a nice family owned and operated resort/camp ground. Our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. Despite being outdoors, the facilities and grounds were very clean. The cabins were very cozy, tidy, and well kept. The owners (Brandy and Stormy) were very kind and hospitable, they welcome you like you are part of the family. More than happy with our decision to stay and will return in the future to Little Creel.

Not perfect but pretty darn good and getting better all the time. The staff is wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. Want to wake up at dawn and go down to the river and catch a few trout for breakfast. This is your place! Or if you just want to relax in the peace and quiet while you watch the river flow. There are new owners and they are working hard at making this place live up to it's potential. The restrooms were clean and the showers hot. I stayed for a week and it was very relaxing some of the nicest people around and I felt very safe (single woman with a small dog). It is a very beautiful area, great place to get away from the heat in the summer, and don't forget to ride the train. It's an experience of a lifetime.

Very poor customer service. We (3 RVs with reservations for 2 nights), stood for 3 minutes while the lady was on the phone inviting someone and her folks to a party her son was going to host here. We explained we had reservations, she couldn't find them. She told us the pull throughs were all empty..drive through--find a spot and let her know. We go back to pay and find out we have to move tomorrow, our spot is booked. We will move on tomorrow, not returning.

Such a nice rv park. Sites are level. When we checked in we wanted to switch to a different site. Management quickly resigned us to a better spot. No questions asked. Cell service in Chama is excellent. However rv park needs to add extender to reach the entire park.Make sure to ride the train when you are here! Fosters bar and restaurant was a greT afternoon hang out for us.

Perfect for families. It's very clean, easy to park your RV, and all the sites are awesome!!! The staff is great and so helpful. The small river behind it is right out the door for fishing. It is a must visit!! Convenient to town but far enough away to come back to relax at.

I was there for the weekend and had to cut our stay short because of racial profiling by a worker. I never felt that disrespected in my 60 year in Cham till then. It was a man that assumed I was Mexican when my race is far from Spanish. He tried to speak Spanish to me and I was shocked because of how someone could just be that oblivious to my culture.

The owners of Little Creek were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for a wonder get- away, including making sure we had a beautiful camp site by the river which we could hear at night. We saw deer in the camp, racoons on the river and many different birds around our camp. It was more than what we anticipated. We would definitely recommend their campgrounds.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Little Creel! It was everything that we wanted in a nice mountain campground with a beautiful river running next to it. Our site was level, clean, good utility access, fire pit and average space in between neighbors. WiFi was good and available throughout the campground.

Little Creel campgrounds is clean, maintained, with an amazing staff.A common comment from our friendly camping neighbors is the number of years the have visited this campground.A special thanks and gratitude goes to the proprietor Ray. We had a mechanic mishap with our RV that would have left us stranded for days. Ray allowed us the use of his tools and gave us his time to help us through a truly difficult situation.Quiet & convenient book online Little Creel campgrounds should be your first consideration when camping in Chama.

I just cant leave a good review, because good is an understatement. These new owners deserve an AWESOME review. READ MORE. to hear about my families awesome experience.$15 got me the following:- Tent campsite located next to the river- Free firewood (not the block stuff but scrap wood, still free)- Mosquito repellent sprayed around campground- Hot showers (best part)We were right next to the river and peace and serenity were all around us. We were in our own area, pretty good distance from everyone else. To say it was perfect would be a lie. I wish the temperature was about 5 degrees cooler during the day (can't change mother nature). However, the night time cooled off pretty well. There were mosquitos from 5:30pm to 9pm (since we were right next to the river). However, what the owner did was completely unexpected. He came over with a mosquito repellent spray (garlic stuff) and sprayed the entire area we were camping at. The owners did whatever they could to make us feel comfortable. You also couldn't beat the campground. It was so nice. We had our own space and were able to peacefully fall asleep next to the river. The thing that would have made the trip better was our 2 kids (8 month old and 2 year old) staying asleep. My wife and I were looking at US forest campgrounds on our way from Colorado and those were right next to the river, filled with mosquitoes, far from everything, campgrounds on top of each other, and no showers for $20 a night. We are so glad that we made Little Creel Resort our place to stay. We will be back in the future.

Very nice campground and the owners are so friendly. Some of the sites are on the narrow side so if you set up outside you may have trouble. Awesome playground for the kids though!

We were so fortunate to have been able to spend the last 2 summers at "The Little Creel"! We loved our cabin #2 and being close to the Rio Chama. Definately the best value in town. The owners, Ray and Stormy made us feel like family. Can't wait to return in May 2020.

This is the greatest park. Lots of trees and a river goes by it. We got a site right on the river, with a patio deck and picnic table. The owners were extremely nice and all the other campers were just as nice. It has quiet time from 10pm. The evenings were so cool. Went to sleep listening to the river.

We made a reservation 3 weeks ahead of our check in date and were told we would have a back-in RV site, on the creek with a shade tree. When we arrived, we were given a pull-thru site, no room for anything but sitting in front of our 35 foot Class A RV and NO shade tree. There were other sites with some shade, but not ours. When asked about our site and shade, the owner said the camp was full and we just had to deal with it! We didn’t make the trip so we would have to sit in the RV with air conditioning for 3 days. We could do that at home for free! We inquired about the other sites that were vacant and shaded and were told again, the park was full. We said we were leaving and we were given a full refund. We got a site at Rio Chama Park in Chama with shade, enough room to put out our grill, chairs and relax and it was about $50 cheaper. Also, my husband told me that the woman in the office at Little Creel told him that because of the unrest in the country right now, we were going to have to change our last name! Our last name is Black and we don’t appreciate anyone politicizing our family heritage. We will never darken Little Creel again and we certainly won’t recommend to our family or friends!

Perfect is all I can say. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. They made our stay just what we needed it to be. We had a large group and were there to celebrate my Dad's life. He would have been very pleased! Thank you so much!

The Camp Host was very nice and helpful when we first got there. On Sunday when some of our friends were scheduled to check out, she turned into a whole different person. They wanted to stay a couple of hours longer and she was not nice at all. My husband left for a while and when he was coming back in through the entrance she stopped him and grilled him about where the others had gone and why their wives were still sitting at our camp site. She was very unprofessional and rude. We will not be staying here again in the future.

I'm a CDT hiker and I was looking for a cheap place to stay. I paid $15 to camp here which is pretty cheap. Most campgrounds that I've been to charge around $25. The folks at the office were extremely nice. They told me where everything was and even gave me a free sodaThere was also shower and laundry available. Laundry was $1.50 to wash and dry

Nice place to camp but the wifi is pretty much zero. If you need wifi bring your own hot spot! Other than that, it's a nice campground with the river on the property. Nice town and close to Pagosa Springs if you want to take a drive. Would camp again.

What a pleasant surprise !! NEW OWNERS !! Nice quiet park right on the river. Clean restrooms with wonderful hot showers. We came in the 5th of July and it was already cleaned up from the 4th. The new owners are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. (No, I'm not a relative - a Texan) 😊
