Tia’s Cafe is a gem in Cerro right on the way to the Wild River’s area of the Rio Grand del Norte National Monument. They serve delicious Northern New Mexican food (especially the stuffed sopapilla). We started with warm, thick chips with salsa. Then we enjoyed the Stuffed Sopapilla (first photo) and Combination Plate with Tamale (second photo)…both were the epitome of satisfying comfort food. We finished our meal off with a warm sopapilla with honey butter. Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was an amazing meal and we highly recommend Tia’s for a taste of authentic Northern New Mexico home cooking.

I’m really sad to post this because I love the breakfast burritos here. Never open when hours are posted. I placed an order later in the day and told them when I would be there to pick it up they said that was fine, I got there 10 minutes before the time I said I would be there and they were closed!!!! Next time I went I asked what happened? All I got was “oh we closed” 9 out of 10 times they always forget the bacon in the breakfast burritos and I always have to go back or my order is often wrong. I have been here many times while I should have stopped coming a long time ago just because of the experience with no apology or discount for the multiple mess ups. But I have spent money here because I have enjoyed the food. This morning I called at 9:40 to place an order. The woman answers “hello” I thought I called the wrong number at first. She said “she isn’t here call back in 20 minutes” ok, fine no problem. Called again at 10:00 (20 minutes later) to a woman answering “hello” again. She said she isn’t here she will be in later” well I don’t understand the inconsistency of this restaurant I really don’t. How any place can stay open for so long with this service is beyond me. I’ll miss the food but never again will I eat here. Sorry but I have had enough.

The food and the service are outstanding. Especially love the homemade sauces. Prices are very reasonable. Clean as a whistle. Full takeout. Love this little local restaurant on the way to Del Norte National Monument.(which is a great place).

My husband and I just happened upon this place and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and needless to say we ate way too much and brought chips and salsa home with us! Yum!

Tia’s is a true find in northern New Mexico. We’ve dined in and also had food to go. Highly recommend their tacos and burritos. Very superb service! (As with any restaurant during pandemic times, it’s always smart to call ahead to check hours)

Pretty good little restaurant in the middle of nowhere! We wanted to try the guacamole, but they were out. 😢. Everything else was delicious. The enchiladas were fantastic.

Tias literally had us ooooing and awwwing with every bite! Brought left overs back to colorado and ate it again last night and oooed and awwed all over again. Sooooo goood! Go you wont be disappointed

Posted hours were 'til 6 pm. Four of us opened the door and walked in at 5:10 pm, woman at cash register said, "We're closed." Don't go out of your way hoping they'll serve you.
