I love this place and will never stop camping there. They have electric outlets in all sections including the tent area for EV charging. This place attracts a friendly crowd of people and has quiet hours, which is convenient for those of us hoping to hear nothing but outdoorsy sounds while we sleep in our tents. The Internet has also become really good recently! The only drawback is that they generally don't allow wood fires, and often don't even allow charcoal cooking, so bring propane or electric grills for your food. For this reason, I'd select 4.5 ⭐'s if Google let me. Still one of my favorite campsites! . . . but maybe not ideal for all people and all moods at all times.

We’ve stayed here before and will come back. It’s a great location in Cedar Crest outside of Albuquerque to the east. We like the natural surroundings and altitude. The people are friendly and reasonable rates. They have cabins. There are many full timers here and some of the spaces are junky looking. Also, be aware the gravel roads coming in can be muddy if there have been rains or snows. This is our preferred place when we come to Albuquerque.

This was a superb stay. I camped in a tent. First night there was a wind storm and with the juniper trees it helped buffet the 40 mph gusts and allowed me to stake down the tent and ground cover without much fuss. This site has WiFi, which I did not use as the local Verizon tower has 5G-UW coverage and was extremely fast.I greatly appreciated the bath house. It is heated with an oil type device and it kept things from being a walk in freezer. The hot water never stops and you get 5 minutes per token which is fantastic after using CA state parks and their 2.5 minute showers. The stalls have a divider you can use to change and hang your towel and a small bench to hold your clothes and toiletries. They do have 2 rustic cabins with dorm style refrigerators and a microwave as well as a fan and oil heater. These are great for a small family of 4. There is a large cabin that has a built in shower and kitchen area. This would be perfect for honeymooner’s or a special luxury camping experience.I had no issues with camping relatively close to the RV sites. I never heard a generator going the entire time I was there.Overall, this is New Mexico’s premier camp site. You are only 20 minutes to Albuquerque and 50 minutes to Santa Fe. Not to mention the dark skies you get being in the shadow of the mountain. Come, relax and experience the healing power of nature and simple pleasures.

Amazing place to stay! The people at this campground were so nice, and I was amazed by all the amenities here, especially the sink with soap and sponges for dishwashing. We drove over from Phoenix for the solar eclipse, and they told us that we could watch the whole thing from our campsite, which we didn't know, but we ended up doing that and it was amazing. The location, the suggestions from management, and coupons to local businesses in the area all make this place a must-stay, whether you are in an RV or tent or would like a cabin. They have it all, and I would definitely return here.

Nestled in the heart of Cibola National Forest, this camp ground offers scenic views with a family atmosphere. Just outside of Albuquerque and minutes from the Sandia ski area, you won't have a problem finding the getaway you've been looking for. With tent, rv and cabin rentals this campground has you covered. There is a grocery and hardware store nearby to accommodate any odds and ends. Madrid , a charming town with great restaurants, is about half an hour away that has live music often and is where the movie wild hogs was filmed. My cousin and I planned on staying here, but as we got off the exit our truck broke down. With the extended stay, we made new friends and cannot express how thankful we were to the entire staff at turquoise camp ground. Rob and Chuck helped out immensely and as well as Felicia, Megan and Emily in the office. I can say this is the best campground in the Albuquerque area and would highly recommend a visit. I will definitely be visiting again in the future and the friends and memories I made will be forever.Nearby activities: Madrid

We journeyed from the heart of Michigan, our original plan being a rustic weekend under the canvas of our trusty tent. However, the bite of the chill air on our arrival, coupled with the encroaching darkness, led us to a different decision. We opted to embrace a cozier retreat, opting for a charming cabin rental. This delightful dwelling became our haven for the entire weekend. The cabin, adorned with quaint charm, welcomed us warmly, setting the stage for a truly enchanting experience. Throughout our stay, we reveled in its comforts and coziness. Pristine cleanliness graced the bathroom and showers, contributing to our overall sense of well-being. The people we encountered, those stewards of this rustic haven, exhibited nothing but the utmost friendliness and hospitality, making us feel like cherished guests. The campground itself maintained impeccable standards of cleanliness, a testament to its caretakers' dedication. In this serene and tranquil setting, the cacophony of city life faded into distant memory, replaced by a soothing symphony of nature's own making. If you seek an exceptional escape, an oasis of serenity, I implore you to explore The Turquoise Trail Campground. Nestled in the embrace of Albuquerque, New Mexico's scenic beauty, it stands as a paragon of excellence among its peers.

Absolutely beautiful location. New owner helped me find a spot and he was very welcoming. Woman at desk was fantastic!Road heading up there was rough, lots of potholes so be careful not to bottom out. Peaceful nights sleep. Sights are level and spacious. Some suggestion- Your nice sign on road needs to have turquoise color on it. Sign for lower loop needs to be before the turn. Have a list of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If I travel this way again, I will be back.

Very friendly staff and quiet campground. The bathroom and showers were clean, but the showers are coin operated. Our pull through site was pretty close to level and had plenty of room for our trailer and truck. The map shows laundry, but there is no laundry on site. The playground is not much of a playground, but has a few swings. The road to get into the campground is very rough so take it slow. Nice location as it is right off 40 and about 20 minutes to Albuquerque. I would not make it a destination to stay at for a long period, but a nice place if your passing through.

A very nice and quiet campground. Only a few minutes over the mountain to Albuquerque and you would never know. The 7,000ft elevation has the breeze always at a gentle blow. Everyone here is friendly and I have been here over a month (travel for work) and have not seen anyone have an issue. It’s safe, clean and beautiful scenery. If you need to camp near Albuquerque, this is the place to be!Nearby activities: Tons of trails to explore! Only a few minutes from Albuquerque. Sandia Crest is awesome! You can drive, hike, or take a tramway to the top!Safety: You have no idea a big city is close by. This is more like small town living where everything is peaceful and quiet. I have never felt this safe staying so close to a city before. Being on the other side of the mountain keeps Albuquerque close enough to be there in 15 mins (by vehicle) yet far enough away that the crime stays in Albuquerque.Noteworthy details: The roads in the park are plenty wide enough for super big campers. I have seen plenty of triple axle fifth wheels come and go. Also a lot of big (tour bus sized) Class A motor homes too. They have a lot of pull through sites with full hookups. Very nice!

This is an RV and tent camping campground. Super friendly and helpful staff. In a secluded, treed area with fairly level graveled RV sites, both back in and pull thru. Tent area away from RV area. Bathrooms and laundry available. Some elec and water only sites available. A sewer dump site is available close to entrance. Very reasonable rates.

Little to no water pressure.Entrance told the whole story.... VERY sketchy!Find another closer or farther away, just not here.Appears no maintenance done to grounds in years.Poor lay out.Dump site is in the main exit of park!. Way overpriced for what it was.At check in , we were told not to use the bathroom or showers unless we had too!End of site had old rerod sticking up just enough to get a tire if you cut it tight exiting site.....I hammered it in!Again move on and find another park.. very sad place.

We had a really long day and a very long trip. The lady who checked us in. Steve way up late into the night. She guided us into our parking area in her own car. The next morning after we checked out. She called us to make sure we got enough rest and that we were happy with our stay. This past trip we put over 5000 miles on our camper and truck. And stayed at many campgrounds. This is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed at. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this place.

Tent-camped for two nights during Balloon Fiesta. Good Wi-Fi. Campground and bathrooms were very clean with hot showers and very good toilet papers. Needed paper towels by the sinks. Very very nice people. I’ll take my whole family and friends next time I visit.Maria Revilla, CaliforniaNearby activities: Very close to AlbuquerqueSafety: Very safe area

The lady in the office was very helpful (she was not an owner), but tried to put us into a site with very low hanging trees. With a 41’ we would not have fit, plus my husband was not willing to take the chance of scratching our brand new Grand Design. She got us into another site which was a bit challenging, but we did it. Another lady (shorter gray hair) who also worked at the campground kept driving by our site on her golf cart and shaking her head. We had no idea what her issue was. Later that evening we received a call from her asking whose tent was in the bushes behind the sites. I informed her I didn’t see a tent and I had no idea. She again asked me if it was ours and proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t paid for. I again informed her that it wasn’t our tent. She then said, “well, your truck is partially parked on the grass”. We had no choice to park there or park partway in the road as they put us in a small site, which was extremely close to both sites next to us. This lady was a bit cranky; however, the lady who checked us in and the male owner were extremely nice. I am giving a 4 due to this ladies attitude and how close the sites are crammed together.

Stayed there a couple of yrs ago on my motorhome. Very nice. Booked it for next couple of weeks for a few days had to cancel one of my groups RV’s. No problem. Then had to change dates, no problem, then when my motorhome broke down on the way had to cancel all together. Absolutely no probem. Very accommodating patient and understanding. Thanks much. See ya next time.Noteworthy details: This is an RV park not a hotel although they do have a few cabins.

This campground has become our go-to place when we visit Albuquerque, and we've been here 4 or 5 times in the past year or so. The staff is friendly and very accommodating, going out of their way to find us sites or make changes when we've had unexpected medical issues that have changed our plans. The RV sites are spacious enough and many have full hookups. Perched in the Sandia Mountains, it's pretty up there, quiet, and about 15-20 minutes to Albuquerque, depending on traffic. There are a few restaurants and other businesses nearby also. Also affordable, considering that it's close to a city.Dog-friendliness: No on-site dog park but many dog parks in Albuquerque.

This place was great. We didn’t have a reservation, as we were driving across the country and weren’t sure exactly when we’d arrive, but we pulled in on an afternoon and were told that they no longer had RV spots available. However, we were in a very small camper and they accommodated our staying there anyway and allowed us to park out front with no hookups (we didn’t care; just wanted a place to sleep). Honestly, it was great; we were away from a lot of the other RVs and this allowed for a little bit of privacy, plus it was super close to the restroom/shower. They also accommodated our friends who were staying in tents and basically only charged us for tent spots. I’d stay here again; they were so nice to us.

We didn't get the full experience as we were only there for a night, but Autumn was very helpful in finding us a spot on what was a very busy night with the balloon festival going on. The price $42 for dry camping was a bit steep for renting a parking space for 8 hours, but it came with a shower for each of us. That's why it's 4 stars. I'd expect maybe $20-$25.We ended up being right by the entrance road, but the view wasn't bad. They do need a sign to ask people not to dump stored waste in the restrooms, or at least to be considerate when others are using the facilities because the stretch fills the air in the restroom fast. Ideally they'd use the dump station.Restrooms: They need a sign to say. Campers, please be considerate and don't dump stored waste in the toilet.Bathroom near the office was clean.

This place is an absolute gem. Very quiet and actually feels like camping. We stayed for six months through the heart of winter and never had a single problem. The staff were absolutely awesome. Kevin the grounds keeper was so nice and so very thoughtful. Linda and here sweet dog were so genuine. Snowed several times and it was always plowed out by 6 am. Sledding and skiing was a quick 20 min drive up the Sandia Crest and the Local brewery had the BEST brick oven pizza we've ever had. This is the Park we compare all other to. No real amenities but the staff and scenery more than made up for it. We can't wait to go back!!!

This is a wonderful RV/Campground with extremely friendly staff. We felt so welcome like we were life long friends with Autumn from the first phone call to the park intro/reg. I wish all places we stayed at had someone like Autumn. It's tucked back away from the highway so not much noise can be heard but close enough that you can get back on the road in just mere minutes in the morning. I camped only one night but we really enjoyed the ample space you are given from other campers, especially for an RV/Campground mix. Other campers were all courteous and respectful. Staff and campers were also all respectful in regards to Covid, masks were worn and social distance was in play, we felt completely safe. The only small complaints I might have is that our campground had a bit of trash that we had to pick up before we settled in. And the 5 minute showers would not be enough time if we didn't have extra tokens. Maybe even just a few minutes more like 8 minutes in total would be enough. But we understand this is due to water restrictions. However for the price this is a perfect place and if we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay without hesitation.Recommended.

We booked our reservation only a couple of days before we we planned to arrive, during Balloon Fiesta, and were warmly welcomed. The woman on the phone (Tammy i believe), was incredible. She offered fabulous directions and she was so excited for us to be coming. When we arrived, we were given the opportunity to choose our campsite since we had arrived so early. The campsite was immaculate. Scenery was gorgeous. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. We absolutely loved the campgrounds. Check the wind advisory when heading to Cedar Crest, it can get crazy! It was relentless all weekend. But camp here and you'll still have a wonderful trip.

We really liked this campground! Rustic and quiet. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Just down the road from an easy in and out gas station and a couple of good restaurants (highly recommend Greenside Cafe's chicken fried steak). Water pressure at our site was a bit low, but not a problem when we filled our water tanks and ran the water pump. We would definitely stay here again!
