I love to stop here for beer and a pizza after a long day on the mountain….and sometimes I just drive up from Albuquerque because the vibe is great! Superb outdoor seating amongst the forest, occasional live music, phenomenal pizza and delicious beer! Rumor is the ideal spot for a pit stop when passing through Cedar Crest.

Great spot in the East Mountains for pizza, beer, and even wine! Located right off some great hiking trails too. The folks who work here are so friendly! Dog and kid friendly as well! Highly recommend trying this place out if you're in the area!

As others have commented: the setting is cool, the space is rustic, but nice, and if you're in search of a relaxing pint, stop by!But if you do, PLEASE GET A PIZZA! The place has magnificent pizzas that, if they weren't sliced, feel genuinely Italian by design. The crusts are thin, nicely colored and charred, and there is obviously some thought put in to where they source their ingredients. The toppings are fresh and harmonious in flavor.Sometimes the humble salad gets ignored when the pizzas are a hit, but not in this case. The chef’s salad is respectable in terms of ingredients without being overwhelmingly stacked with stuff. The greens are crisp and expanded well beyond iceberg---always a treat.Drink some brew, get a pizza, and if you visit in the winter, bring some warm clothing and enjoy the front patio.

Absolutely beautiful brewery. They have delicious artisan crafted pizzas and a few great beers! The manager was very helpful and friendly, also had a great crowd of patrons. If you're passing through or near to cedar creek/albuquerque and you like beer, it is a definite stop you should make.

Everyone's pizza was totally burnt. Not just our table. The girl working at the window said she knew nothing about beer when I asked her what was closest to a porter on the menu. The kombucha was terrible. I brew my own and darn proud of it now. Sorry to be so blunt but I consider 3 stars average and this was just a bad experience for everyone at our table.

I have been coming to Rumor Brewing for a couple of years now and the environment is welcoming and friendly. There are so many regulars who continue to come back because of the food, the beer, and the people. Robert and Noah are such a fun and down to earth crowd to be served by. I recently hosted a graduation party at Rumor and the owner, Patrick, was not only accommodating to all my wild requests but he also offered some additional food options at a great price. It was a pleasure working with Rumor staff at the party. Spencer and Evee were so helpful and on top of it. Even when there was a Saturday rush of people and party guests, Rumor staff did an incredible job at providing exceptional service in a timely manner. Would recommend this place 100% and it’s a great local business to have in the East Mountains.

I had a pretty good time here when I visited this past June - there was live music and a pleasant vibe on the patio. There's open seating at large wooded picnic tables; at first it felt weird finding a spot to sit because I didn't want to impose on anybody else's space, but everybody was chill and didn't mind others sitting near them.We didn't have to wait long in line to order or get our drinks, and the food was ready pretty quickly. The staff seemed friendly and we didn't have any issues with anything.The beers that I drank were large, tasty & strong. The pizza was a bit small and I can't say that I really loved the crust, but I'd say that it's probably just personal preference. The taste of our food made up for it, very flavorful with fresh ingredients!

Rumors used to be a great place! Then during the pandemic it changed like so many places-staff shortage, the pizzas became a lot smaller or couldn’t be made at all, orders were messed up! Today we tried it again! Driving back from California we were pleasantly surprised that we could now order online! Which we did! When we got there we were told that in spite of receiving an order confirmation our order never made it to the kitchen because the printer wasn’t working! We were offered to have the order made in 10 minutes ( which we seriously doubt) but since we couldn’t really park our RV in the crowded parking lot we had to decline and leave with an empty stomach!I am all for supporting local businesses but too much is too much!

Great place! Good food (the grilled cheese is yummy and I added Bacon!) Great beer and very friendly people. Lots of seating inside and out. It was a cool rainy evening when I went and I sat outside with some rain (the outside seating is covered) and fresh mountain air smell. This place is definitely worth checking out. Also they are very pet friendly!

Update: the business has “cleared up” the misunderstanding with the musician, but the valid criticism of the food taking to long to prepare, orders being wrong, and service being sub-par has not changed. A (still) well deserved 1 star.Original Review:This establishment is withholding an owed payment to a local musician (see the unacceptable behavior from the establishment in the photo below).Also, it takes them way too long to prepare food, the order is often wrong or incomplete, and the service is frequently sub-par. A well deserved single star.

Excellent spot for pizza and beer near trails. They also have live music. On Wednesday's the bartender is Rex and she is delightful, we try to go every week just to see her. We just moved out here this year and our Wednesday trips for beers and to hang with Rex has helped make it feel like home! We've met a lot of locals who do that same thing, this is the place to be on Wednesday.

Seeing the reviews from a year ago, compared to the one I'm about to make, shows just how bad it's gotten. A year ago, I would have made the same stellar review. We used to love going to Rumor, from when it was called Ale Republic. We'd bring out of town people here. Before I made this review, I reached out to the manager and let them know how things had been really bad for the previous three visits: long waits with only two other customers in the place, orders not put in or forgotten and dough not stretched to the original size. That last bit has resulted in under cooked pizzas, that are half the size of when it was good. The manager was very apologetic and promised things would get better. They have not. The sauce used to be excellent, with a little spice. Last night it was just ordinary but really salty. It's disappointing to see a great local place go downhill.

Rumor, we love you and were so disappointed today. Whoever was cooking must have been on something. We watched him leave the kitchen to go out to his car, with orders to make. It wasn't a lot, maybe 2 tables were waiting for food. The server was new to the system, frazzled, tried her best, but took no accountability for the situation. It should never take over an hour for a sandwich and garlic bread. Seriously, what is the cook smoking? It's mind boggling. Nothing was being communicated either direction. We had to cancel and leave hungry. I really hope this never happens to anyone ever again. We need this pizza and brewery to thrive in this community.

Rumor Brewing is a weekly destination for my family. We go every Wednesday, specifically to see Rex. She is the most warm, fun, and energetic beertender around. We feel incredibly welcome every time we go. Other breweries spend tons of money to emulate the homelike, down-to-earth, atmosphere of Rumor. This is the best place to eat and drink east of the mountain.

UPDATE:2/15/24:Went back for an after valentine, Valentine's brunch. I asked if their would be an issue since the ingredients were missing last time, I was told they are under new management.Cool, cool. Ordered bites p, Margherita pizza, sandwich, and some beer. Being the only customer in the store at the time made it even more relaxed than last time.Played some pool and shuffleboard, pizza showed up.....heads up. Margherita pizza may differ, I've always known it to be one way, large mozzarella slices, basil leaves, sauce. We got it with green chile. It was shredded mozzarella with shredded basil (fresh), green chile, and some sauce, not enough for me to love it, but that's my personal opinion, I ain't knocking nobody for that.Bout halfway through, my wife said she wanted to get pesto chicken pizza for dinner, I ordered one. Couple more beers, shout out to the monk. In the beginning, we were told the Focaccia bread was gonna take 30 minutes. All good, looking forward to fresh bread and hummus!!We had been there about an hour, hour % 1/2, maybe a little over. So our second pie shows up (Pesto chicken), I had asked for green chile on the side as well. I wanted a bite, open it up annnnnnd no green chile, no onions, annnnd no chicken. I caught who I was told was the manager (she was so kind and understanding) she explained that new staff in the back and the Focaccia were experiencing technical issues due to dough being temperamental. Too salty.We paid, and the items we didn't receive were removed. Staff laid back and relaxed. For me, the BIGGEST problem is this:The first thing we ordered was Focaccia with hummus. When an issue arose, communication would have been the simplest thing, but not until the end did we find out that we weren't getting that dish.TL;DR: Decent food, amazing chill vibe, staff is both helpful and non communicative. I'd advise you not to agree to wait for something. You may not get itPros: Beer cold and delicious, and they have food.Cons: No communication, some food isn't available.

This hidden spot was a great find! They have a nice variety of local craft beers on draft and in cans. And you can get BBQ from the Ribs place in the shopping mall next door. Nice minimal decor inside. Pool table. Foosball. Picnic tables. We didn’t like one of the beers on tap and were given replacements free of charge. Highly recommend the elevated ipa! Yummers.

Easy-going, fun! Yummy food, beers on tap, and live music. I love the atmosphere. Watching Wednesday night live jazz guitar is a great way to unwind in the middle of the week. Our dog loves the guitarist!

Nice set up for a smaller place in a remote area. Pizza was great (suggest the BBQ pizza) and enjoyed a few pints of beer as well. The staff was very friendly and the location/atmosphere was beautiful.
