Great place. Great location. And happy hour every day! We were there for Thanksgiving and enjoyed a huge potluck with our fellow travelers and permanent residents. Fyi... for you rock hounds, the open space on the way to the lake is full of cool gemstones. Reasonable rates but it pays to stay a month.

We so enjoyed our time at Caballo Lake RV Park.Residents are quiet but friendly. Close to the main roadway but far enough away that interstate noise is negligible.CJ, the owner, takes phenomenal care of the park; the landscaping is impeccable! Hookups are well-maintained, recycling is encouraged, and you cannot beat her pricing!We overlooked the Caballo Mountains and Caballo Lake and could easily walk down to the lake or watch the sunset

Very, very rude owner. We used to love staying here on our trips to AZ, but not no more, will bypass every time. Nobody leans in my face and says are you kidding me!!! You need to call ahead, and I had called ahead and she admitted not answering my phone call cuz it was after 6 and the office closes, it was about 5:45 when I called. And not only once did she say that but 3 times.

We stayed a wonderful month in August 2016. The park is neat and clean and the owner is very friendly. It was nice to get to know other people in the camp at the meet and greet happy hour. I would recommend this RV Park to anyone who wanted to stay in the area.

UNTRUSTWORTHY—-BE AWAREOwner gave our reservation away after we verified 2-days prior! We had driven 6-hours to get there. Then the owner did not have the decency to answer the phone or come out to provide an explanation! Would not recommend this place at ALL!!!! Also heard this was not the first time from a local at the next RV place we found in Caballo!Much better locations for camping and Elephant Butte has a great location in Aqua Vista campground.

Owner picks and chooses who deserves respect and who to be nice to. It is very sad to be honest. We spend good hard earned money here, and yet still get bad service. I don't recommend this place to anyone ever. We are a strong military family, we are all United States Marine Corps family. We have honor and dignity, why can't they?

Nice friendly park very friendly owner place is small but immaculate. Close to lake very reasonable price. Snacks at owners home in evening,nice get together. Sites are large and level. Nice dog park, just a nice oasis in the desert.

Caballo Lake RV park is clean, friendly, priced right, close to lakes for fishing, mountains for exploring. Interesting area with wide open spaces, Old West history, ghost towns, lots of things to do. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere if you want to take it easy. Love the 'Happy Hour' at the park in the evening weeknights to meet other guests if you like to socialise. Had a great time, definitely will be back. Would recommend when you are in the area.

We had a delightful stay for 6 days in April (2016) en-route from Tucson to Fort Collins, and on to OR for the summer and we plan to stay there a few months, if possible, this winter. We actually went back in Nov., 2016 and stayed through April, 2017, and plan to stay there again this winter. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay!

This is a very nice RV park run by the owner (CJ). We stayed there a week in March 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. CJ has an evening meet and greet so you can get to know others in the park. From the meet and greets we found out about a ghost town (that was very interesting) a local winery (which we enjoyed) and some other neat places to go. If you want to keep to yourselves you can or get involved it's up to you. If you're looking for a nice place to stay you won't go wrong.

We had talked to the owner a few times she said she would have a spot for us When it came down to it we called to let her know we were on our way. We were told she had two spots available she did not take credit cards only cash or check and it was first come first serve and that if we wanted a spot we should not dink around having lunch. We were only an hour and half out. We discussed this and I was so damn pissed by her attitude I said screw it called Deming Road Runner and came here instead. I was so excited about staying there from the looks of the pictures BUT HER MOUTH SCREWED THAT UP BIG TIME WILL NEVER EVER STOP THERE AND WILL TELL OTHERS TO NEVER EVEN BOTHER GOING THERE

CJ built this park by herself. Apparently Grover Cleveland used to own this particular piece of lands. Well she took over and converted into a quaint little rv park that easily accommodated my 39' fifth wheel and truck. There are no amenities (showers and bathroom). When I asked her why she said it was simple "I didn't want to clean it". Makes sense to me. Sites are level, full hookups 30/50 amp service. People are nice and it's close to the lake for fishing boating etcetera. I'll will stay again.

Miss CJ is the owner,and she's a sweetheart. Small quite resort. No amenities,but has FHU's and very economical. Shopping and restaurants are 18 miles away in Truth or Consequences. Propane delivery comes to the park,or drive 1 mile down road to get serviced,where there's also a very small store. Caballo Lake is within walking distance from your RV site.

Rasu access from I-25. Small quiet park with large wide sites. VERY CLEAN. Everyone here is super nice! There is a path to walk down to the lake. We will definately return!

Nice clean adult only Park on the Caballo lake. The only thing that would make it better would be showers and bathrooms, but the price is more than reasonable, a great place to stay.

The lake and the river are beautiful, pretty much nice weather year round, the fishing for white bass catfish walleye and a few other species is spectacular I highly recommend this place I visit as often as possible.

Easy access to the Rio Grande down river from the dam. Kind of useless after the dam closes in late summer though. Great spot while the dam is flowing.
