The Wild Birdhouse took great care of our dog Monty. He isn’t a fan of getting a hair cut, so I appreciate them explicitly taking their time so he gets breaks. They did an amazing job going above and beyond, he smells lovely soft. I was pleasantly surprised to see a handsome little bow tie when I picked him up. Most importantly he wasn’t traumatized, like he has been in the past with other groomers. Can’t wait to take him back. I would highly recommend.

We made an appointment for 8am to have our pets groomed only to be told they wouldn’t be ready at or about 2pm, that’s 6 hours. We’ve been coming here for 10 years and NEVER had our pets stay that long. Furthermore, my wife asked for a specific cut for our female, exactly like she previously had (xtra $$$), and she came out looking like her brother. When I called about 12:15 for an update we were told our male was just finished, we were told he was started on as soon as he arrived at 8am, that’s 4 hours for a normal cut. Our female (with special cut) was done in about 2 hours. My wife brushes them (Shih Tzus) every day and was even acknowledged by the groomer for doing so. Today, the excuse was that they were matted up! Really! NEVER AGAIN!

The grooming is done in a great manner. My Bandita loves her visit because I usually get her some treats or toys whenever I take her. They're gentle with her and did a great job at a great price.

We just moved to Placitas and the Wild Birdhouse came highly recommended for dog grooming. We went today for the first time- great store with excellent supplies . Lexi was awesome...she did our two fur babies and they look happy and gorgeous. Thank you!

Kristen is absolutely amazing. I adopted a rescue pup from the shelter and he was COMPLETELY MATTED. He was an absolute mess and terrified of everything. Murray looked sooooo good after she fixed him up! She does a wonderful job! If you are looking for a groomer, especially for a doodle, make an appointment ASAP!! You won’t find better grooming services.

Omgoodness! I'm from Phoenix, but my mom is from Placitas. While visiting, I took her to buy her bulk birdseed. This place is fantastic! So many varieties of seed and suet. Feeders and even beautiful wind chimes! The other part of the store has everything you need for your furry friends, including a grooming service! Kind and helpful customer service, too. I wish I had a store like this in my neighborhood!

I brought my nervous dog here because their website said they could handle nervous dogs. Unfortunately, that was not the case for my dog. When I picked her up, she was not fully groomed. I was told she didn't let them work on her legs or bottom. This is a 5 year old dog that has been successfully groomed at many locations. I wont be back.

I would give less than one star if I could. When I went to pick up our dogs I was charged more than we were told by an employee. We went in a week earlier and brought our dogs to discuss pricing and fill out paperwork. The owner refused to acknowledge anything we said and was not willing to call his employee to verify any of what we experienced. When I got home one of our dogs had 2 cuts which we were not told about. In all the years of grooming this only happened one other time and we were given medication and a discount on the next grooming. We asked to clean our dogs feet and one of the dog's feet was not done. We were told he could not stand on 3 legs! I have clippers and sometime do their feet and I simply have them sit or lie down. The owner was rude and verbally abusive... I would avoid this place like the plague.

This is a great place to support local business. I have been getting my dog groomed by one of their groomers now for years and Tory is wonderful. (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly) I also buy my birding supplies, dog food and treats. Love my local Wild Birdhouse.

We take our dog here a lot to get groomed and he always comes out looking great!! We know he’s a pain for them but they still treat and groom him very well! Super nice staff with great prices

I would not recommend the grooming salon. I took in my dog (10lbs)for a nail trim and grind. I normally take him to Petsmart on a monthly basis for grooming. Never any behavior problems. I thought I would try a local business for a nail trim.. The staff checked me in quickly and I stepped outside to wait due to COVID. I reentered the store about 5 mins later and heard my dog cry out. I asked the cashier why he was crying. She took my money and said she would check. I told her I would stand in the front so he could see me. What I did not expect to see is a groomer spinning my 10 lb left to right as she was working on his nails. It was like he was an inanimate object. The cashier did try to calm him as he cried out a second time. When the groomer brought him to me, I asked her why he was crying. She told me his tail hair had got caught up in the grinder and that he had went pee and secreted from his anal gland. I will never take any animal to this location.

We used to take our other dog here and things worked pretty well. Now, a few years later, we have a new dog and she's been getting groomed here. Except my mom asked them not to clip her ears but, they still did so and didn't do a good job. They also did not let her see the dog until she had finished paying them. The first time we took the dog, they didn't do a very good job clipping her face either. My mom also says the girls were very snotty to her. It's a shame. We used to like it here.

I asked them not to shave my yorkie and they did anyway. My maltipoo needed shaving, but now she has a bruise on her back the size of my hand - she weighs only 8 pounds. It is a big, red bruise! Both of them were traumatised, so much that they are still weird a day later, and I cannot touch their feet. They are hiding. These are two of the cutest sweetest mutts on the planet! I wanted to like their work, they had products here that I haven't found elsewhere, but I just cannot do it. I expect a groomer to be able to befriend a little dog, or stop if they are being hurt by their own actions. I don't know what to do except tell the public. The bruise really gets me - how does a dog get such a bruise over 40% of their little back? She is pure white and with being shaved down to the skin, you can see it plain as day. It is just unnecessary. I will not go back there with her again.

Great variety of bird feeders and QUALITY no filler bird food. Bought a small birder feeder and the birds were quick to notice it! Highly recommend for a unique experience !

I tried this store as it is closer to where I live. Can say I was not impressed. It is a small store and customer service is zero. Never was asked if I needed help, nor were we greeted at all. At checkout the cashier never smiled and spoke as little as possible. Perhaps we came at a busy time or she was having a bad day. They have many products you can't find easily and that us what brought me in to the store. Will try it again and hope the service improves.

Nice store with bird food supplies, dog supplies and cat supplies. They also groom dogs and aree all around great. The biggest difference , everyone here truly cares a bout your pet! Love this place
