Google was mistaken to suggest this in response to "liquor store near me", even though a lot of groceries around here do carry alcohol. Nevertheless it's a fine small town grocery and the dude minding the place at the time was friendly and helpful. Booze was about a mile and a half up the road at Caballo Tavern.

Small but stocked quite well for essentials. Prices a bit high but that’s expected in today’s time. Friendly staff and convenient for those in any of the near by campgrounds.

Nice people. Just wish the prices were a bit lower and more fresh meat not frozen. Produce was a bit low but they have some amazing spices and other things.

While the staff and selection are great, it does not justify the prices of good throughout the store. Everything is marked up more than retail price. Walking in with $50 will only land you with $20 worth of merchandise. Also I shouldn't have to be charged to use my own money due to "processing fees". I'd rather drive another 5 minutes to T or C and get my money's worth for goods rather than being price-gouged on basic food and drink.

This is a small store, run by some very nice people. Used to live in area with wife, moved away 5 years ago but go back for family. This place is great if you want bare essentials plus a bit more. Especially if your in area and on way out to go fishing!!Staff is best thing about thus place. Never once got a grumpy person...that says a lot!

These people were the nicest folks I had met in New Mexico, I stopped hoping they had diesel and they didn’t but the owner and the young lady were so sweet. They went above and beyond to help us out. Tiny grocery store in town. It also has a small gas station and sells propane. Looks like there's also a restaurant next door. Convenient stop for people camping at Caballo Lake State Park and Percha Dam.

Since my original review was taken down I will put it up again last year my husband and I were traveling through derry quite often and Baqueras grocery qnd the little Cafe next door were our favorite stops . Every single time before our last trip we had been allowed to use the bathroom every time we stopped on this particular day (we had been through 4 times that week and had used the bathroom bought drinks and used the atm to get cash to pay for food next door ) my husband waited at the restaurant and I walked over to do the usual routine bathroom,drinks,atm ,food . As I checked out that day I asked to use the restroom and I was told "we aren't lending it at the moment because of covid " I said oh well I've used the bathroom here 4 times this week and she called me a liar and refused me use of the bathroom ... ok no problem covid had made everything less accessible so I walked back to the restaurant and told my husband we would have to find another restroom . He said fine and asked if I had remembered to get him some candy and I said no so he walked over to the store to get his candies while checking out I guess he forgot what I had said and asked to use the bathroom and like magic the girl handed over the key . The only difference in my husband and I is that I am a white passing (blonde hair,blue eyes light skin ) Hispanic and my husband is darker and well he's a guy . SoI have to beleive one of two things either they purposefully discriminated against me because I appear anglo or that they purposefully discrimated against me because I'm female . Either way I have never dealt with such rude treatment and now when we pass through we stay on the freeway and go to hatch .
