This is the only place I will take my dogs too. The groomer Matthew is amazing. He did a great job on my dog. I can’t get over how great she looks. He took his time and she looks amazing. And they were very kind to her for her first time being groomed. I would go here again.

When you have huskies the shedding season is year round. I greatly appreciate this place for being patient and professional. They had a cancellation and were able to fit him in. My guy came back soft and fresh and has a brushing 2 weeks later which is awesome.

My very elderly dog often is stressed by groomers but Matthew did the best job while putting her at ease. He got her done quickly and she looks better than ever. Highly recommended if you are looking for a groomer in Albuquerque.

Our dog is a very tender puppy so when he gets his nails trimmed it’s pretty stressful. He goes every other week to Zia Pet Grooming and they get him in quickly (no stressful waiting!) and are patient, kind, and gentle with him. Would highly recommend.

Zia has done such a good job with our standard size goldendoodle! Alex is very gentle with our dog and is accommodating to our unique vision. Scheduling last minute appointments is quick and the facility is clean. I’m so glad to finally have a place where we can keep taking our dog!

We have taken our Yorkie to Zia a hand full of times. The first 3 were okay with the third time being the best one. On the fourth one our dog was completely shave and cut down! His face was cut down to the point where he just looked like a basic terrier all his features of a Yorkie were completely gone! We gave them another try because stuff happens and we requested a four on his body, a trim around his eyes and ears and for his legs to be cut and shaped. When we picked him up it looked like they had just done a quick snip around the eyes and no clippers were used on his body and his legs were also barely touched and they had him for 3 hours! Was he forgot and them pulled out at the last minute. We will no longer be using Zia, they do or not do what they want not what you request.

Alex and the entire Zia staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Baby (my elder blind long-haired dachshund) loved them. And they loved her! She smells good and looks great after a trim.Convenient location, their shop is spotless. Reasonable rates.-all explained ahead of time. (Parking can be slightly full because of all the El Vado shops-just depends on time of day.)

Nicole and Alex are simply amazing! I take all my doggies to them. They are so loving, gentle and you can tell this is their true passion. Took my little man Leo in today for the first time and I was so happy with the outcome. He went in really nervous but by the time I picked him up he was happy and excited to see me. (Not nervous like he has been at other places I never returned to) Alex did an amazing job! Leo also really liked him. I will definitely be back!!

We took our 2 dogs in to be shampooed and shed treated and they were very professional And took care of both of them. They knew how to work with Jaxx whom didn’t like the dryer so they let her get used to it and patiently took care of her. We were very pleased with the outcome of both the babies and are planning to bring them again and again.

When I took my Nala here Nicole and Alex were really good with her. Nala is not a high maintenance dog but she looked brand new, her coat was so fluffy and clean, smelled good. Nala came back to me the same way I dropped her off, happy and so playful. Of course I didn't want to leave her, because we are never really apart unless I go to work but I know she was in good hands. =) I will be bringing my other dogs here as well =)

Just moved to Albuquerque, and found Matthew and this place. He did a great job on my Pomeranian, is willing to work with my 15.5 year old Great Pyranees who can't stand very well and suggested deshed treatment for my lab, who sheds a whole dog's worth of hair every day.So happy to have found a good groomer in my new town. Reasonable rates, too.

I got my dog in here once and was very pleased, but there is no way to contract them again for another appointment and the groomer said that he could not set up future appointments.

I made an appointment and when I arrived I was told I wasn’t put in the books. Both the man and woman seemed annoyed that I was there as if it were my fault that they messed up the appointment booking. When I came in again the next day I explained exactly what I wanted to the lady who took my dog. They did absolutely NOTHING I asked for. Called and said his fur was matted too much to keep it the length I wanted, so they just shaved my dog to almost the shortest length. Then proceeded to charge me for de matting, when they didn’t de-matt but just shaved him completely down. On top of that the worst part was that they CUT MY DOGS EYE, his lower lid and didn’t even mention it happened. I know why it took much less time than usual now. It was very obviously a rushed job and my poor dog not only looks ridiculous but now has a wound on his eye. I would venture to say they weren’t very kind to him because they messed up booking and had to work him in to the schedule. All and all 70 dollars to shave my dog the same way I can at home and a nasty gash on my dogs face. NEVER AGAIN. Don’t waste your money or time or put your dog in their hands!

Do not bring your pets here, actually no the owners are good really good people but Matthew is horrible. They need to fire him asap, my mother inlaws dog has been going there for a few months now everything was good until August 3rd yesterday she picked up zema Matthew dropped zema almost on her head. That was fine accidents happen, well she came home we thought everything was okay till she wasn't being herself... my mother in law treats this dog like a queen never once was she hand shy nothing now she got scared when my mil tried to pet her while drinking. Okay that's just one thing maybe from being dropped, no now when food is around she wants nothing to do with it and that's not normal. She is usually in ur face ready to steal the bite out of ur mouth, all day since she got home she hasn't moved just lying down depressed. something happened we don't know what exactly happened but this dog isn't the same. And her changing like that isn't from an accidental fall. Fire him zia pet grooming for zemas sake. Our dogs will not be going to any groomers because of this we will learn to do it ourselves, we will not put zema in that situation ever again nor any of our dogs.Update: the owners are trying to brush off our concerns as if we are making them up, the owners are not doing anything about the issues. Alex and Nicole are doing absolutely everything to cover up everything so their business doesn't fall... they do care more about the money than the animals and it shows.

I will never visit this shop again. Although the staf might have been friendly. This experience is nonetheless for my dog. My dog still has an odor like she wasn’t given a bath. She’s a Yorkie and the hair around her face was all chopped up looks nothing like I wanted it. I don’t know if she got her nails done either. The groomer also nicked her ear while cutting her.
