This store is very un sanitary and the animals are not taken care of correctly, the way they treat the staff members is so wrong. i had bought a rat and from here and when i brought it home i wasn’t made aware that it was sick and it i unfortunately died.when i was purchasing my items i witnessed a staff member opening a red container that looked like a freezer and what was inside was horrifying, i witnessed TONS of dead lizards and other animals fall out i was shocked. i would not recommended this pet store at all !!!!

My favorite store ❤️Acceptable prices. They will always answer any question and help you. Very attentive sellers. A very large selection of parrots, lizards, snakes, freshwater fish, salt aquariums, there are also sugar gliders, and a lot of accessories for any pets.

Amazing owner, and happy healthy animals. Variety of animals, and takes in rescues. Takes the time to answer questions and educate. They try to prevent the birds from picking themselves after coming from stressful environments and takes care after stressful molting. Let's the animal pick the owner, doesn't just give the animals to whoever. Keeps animals for years to find their perfect home! I hope this is all true, and if it is I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing little shop!

There was a strong, unpleasant odor upon opening the door that I have never experienced at any other exotic pet store. I asked where a heating item was and the person "helping" me acted like I knew nothing and that I was going to burn my snake alive. She then claimed that a lower temperature would be fine and that because snakes are cold blooded, my snake would adjust (that's not how being cold blooded works). She then gave me other advise that, if followed, would actually burn my snake. Her advise contradicted everything I know, what other reptile keepers have told me, what another reptile store owner told me, what reputable websites recommend, and what YouTube channels (including Snake Discovery) say. She also claimed that the store had been around since the 80's so they know what they're talking about. I didn't look at the reptiles to see how they were being taken care of but based on other Google reviews, I'm guessing this place has been doing it wrong since the 80's. I'm never going back and I would recommend others, especially those less experienced with reptiles, avoid this place.

Got a Hedgehog plus a lot of info and a starter kit for her. Also feel in love with many animals there. I highly recommend get a pet or supplies her they really care for animals!

I brought my pug in to have his nails trimmed last week. The young lady who helped us was so patient and kind and gave him the best nail trim of his life! We will definitely be back. While I was there I noticed a wide array of pet supplies and beautiful birds. Support this awesome local buisness!

Went in one time just to see if they had Hedgehogs. As an animal lover I was appalled at how horrible and poorly kept ALL the animals were. It was a depressing sight to see. I really wish I could rescue all of the animals.

I have went into this store ONCE with my girlfriend a few months back and will probably never go again to see how poorly all of these precious animals are cared for was awful some of the birds had been ripping out their feathers id assume do to stress and being kept so closely together. I am a tarantula keeper and own a bearded dragon whom i care for just as well as i would a child and to see the single tarantula they had back in the corner was Awful bald abdomen due to kicking hairs excessively and no webbing within the enclosure improper habitat setups within the tarantulas enclosure and all of their reptiles as well. If i could go back and take them all home i would but will never support this business in fear that they will just put another tarantula/reptile in its place ! And if you are thinking of supporting this place i strongly recommend going literally anywhere else.

The women here are absolutely rude and not helpful the big lady with the whiny voice was incredibly rude when I walked it she yelled at me and told me to get out of the store while their door was wide open. I told her I was just here for feeder rats and she told me no that I have to leave. I have purchased all my mice and rats from here and have never been treated like this at this location. Their pets look malnourished and the birds look like they need to be sent out for rehabilitation. Please take better care of your animals and your customers.

Nice local business. A lot of exotic birds. All the cages were clean. They have a huge variety of whatever your pet needs. Help support local business. Staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a large variety of reptiles and fish!

This pet store is a icon in the community and has been around for decades. I like their inventory, but I really love their customer service. They're friendly, knowledgeable and empathetic. I would pick this location over PetSmart all day everyday.

Owner is very kind, and I love how they take In rescues considering how many there are with exotic pets. It's been a well known fact for those in the reptile/exotic animal hobby someone will see a cute little baby that will eventually grow very large and have requirements that inexperienced keeper can't provide so these leads to a lot of exotic animal deaths. Fortunately though this place exists here in Albuquerque. Great place to support, have lots of exotic animals, supplies, aquariums/terrariums, and feeders!

I haven’t bought an animal here because I hadn’t discovered this place until after I had my chameleon for about a year. They have so many birds and reptiles that are so pretty for sale here, but I go here to get crickets for my chameleon because it’s close. They’re more expensive than Clark’s and the chain pet stores and they didn’t even give me how many I asked for. I asked for 30 and they gave me a bag with just shy of 20. Also they were extremely small, weak crickets that didn’t last long whatsoever. Next time I’ll be going to Clark’s

This is the best pet store in the world!! The owner has the kindest ❤️ she literally went out of her way to help our poor pet parakeet who got attacked by our dog. It lives because of her. Thank so much for being so kind! Being there and helping us and not expecting anything back! Very few people in the world like that. God will bless you for being so selfless & amazing!!

I brought my Jack-chi puppy to get his nails done. He was scared because he'd never been to this place before.We we're checking it out.The lady was very patient with him. I held onto him. Even though she put a muzzle on him.I have to say I've never had a problem getting his nails done before. My puppy and I had a good experience. Unfortunately I have to bring him to the last place where he was not scared.

Updating my review because this is my preferred pet shop. While there's little space to move around, the prices are great. Kinda regretting that I spent twice as much on heat lamps for my snake at Clark's. They're also super friendly and helpful.

Purchased a python snake and all accessories here yesterday, spent over $400.... came home and set up his new home only to discover he has mites! Called the store to notify them and the worker didn't show any care at all! I told her I was mostly concerned with the care of the other reptiles there and she just rudely said they're all fine. I wouldn't recommend buying your animals here, we're very disappointed in this shop!
