Very specifically told them NOT to cut ANY of my dog's hair on her head or tail but to only de-mat the areas as I like her hair long.Not only did they go ahead and cut it anyway, when I complained I was told that the technician said he didn't touch her tail or head with anything but thinning shears (despite it being obvious that her hair had been cut).Then they said since he denied it, what could I expect them to do about it.For 50$ a pop, they need to do the cut that's been paid for and NOT lie about it when confronted on their mistake.WORST GROOMERS IN TOWN!See for yourself...

For over ten years, my poodle would be shaking and grumpy anytime we’d take him to get groomed. A friend recommended I bring him to Rio Grande Groomers and for the first time ever he was completely normal and happy after I picked him up. I’m so grateful to them for being so gentle to my old baby on top of doing a stellar grooming job. Will definitely be coming back!

I have my Pom groomed at Rio Grande Pet Salon every 3 weeks. I adore my dog but have to admit that he is a handful with a deafening bark and no hesitation about nipping. Despite this, they handle him beautifully and he is always happy and looks great when he comes home. My other 3 dogs have short coats and so visit only periodically. My Mom takes her 90 lb Airedale every couple of months. We have nothing but good experiences to report. Everyone who works there is personable and cares about my dogs.

We've taken our dogs there for more than 16 years. We briefly tried another when we moved close to the mountains, but results were terrible: cuts covered up on pick-up with styptic pen and not disclosed until they started bleeding once home, traumatized dogs etc. It's WORTH the 20 plus minute drive to get the excellent care. The dogs are not keep in some dark back dungeon for hours, they're cages are right there where they can see all the action and close to the front desk. These professionals love dogs and most have been there for as long, or longer, than have been going there.

Long time customer of five plus years. Customer service used to amazing. Recently got booted for being hard to handle. Understandably he isn't easy. But for a long time he was manageable and groomed without issue. All of a sudden now he's too much and dropped just like that without any remorse or care. Great loyalty!

We've used this place for many years. Always felt our trust for their care of our pets was justified. Invariably nice work on the grooming to boot. Especially like the little kerchiefs given to the pets usually seasonal themes (Asta our small poodle/bischawn mix got a yellow one with pumpkins this week).

I've been taking my dogs to Rio Grande Grooming Salon for over a decade. Sadly, the cut of my last pup was not up the the high caliber that I'm used to seeing from this establishment. I asked for a puppy cut but the ears were left long, the face wasn't rounded, and the cut around the face and head was jagged and uneven. My poodle/pom mix looks like Jar Jar Binks with a handle bar mustache. Cute and entertaining... but not what I asked for. Considering I pay more for my dogs haircut than my own, I don't think it's too much to ask for my puppy to get the flattering look I requested.

I've been going here for years. It is probably not the cheapest, although not unreasonable, but they do a great job and are very gentle with any sore spots (bite, ear infection, etc). Totally worth the 30 minute drive from my house.

Love them, they are in the neighborhood, friendly and always professional. Great staff friendly faces and I always take me lady over to get her nails trimmed. Now I just need to get her in for a bath!

I was very disappointed when we got home from the groomers they both seem parched like they hadn't had a an ounce of water the whole time they were there. My little Pomeranian had diarrhea drips of heavy blood. I called them right away to let them know what was going on. No one had the decency to me a call to check on her again. She bled for 3 days only to find out that they ruptured an anal gland.
