I've been to this groomer several times in the last few years. I have a dog that was abused when I first adopted him, but every time I've taken him in I've been charged around 70 dollars for a full bath and cut. I recently took him in and they charged me $127! He is a miniature Australian Shepherd and weighs about 32 pounds. He is very timid and didn't like going to the groomer, but I've never had any issues with this place before. On their website they charge over $120 for the largest sized dogs and yet they charge me the same amount??? I was told when I picked him up that I was charged $15 extra because it took extra time because he kept moving around. I should have been charged $85 for his size and the additional $ for the "extra time" to groom him. Why not call me and let me know that they were having issues with him and let me decide where to go from that point? How is it possible that he has been there before and they are familiar with him and yet I get charged the most amount for the sized largest dog when mine is a medium size? He also had broken blood vessels in his eyes when I picked him up. The owner did mention this to me but it made me seriously concerned. I'm in the process of moving out of state, but if I weren't, I'd still not return after this experience. I get that not everyone's going to have the same experience that I did but I felt I needed to share mine in this review.

Our St. Bernard, Jughead always looks and more importantly SMELLS like a million bucks when he comes home. Our dog is enormous and previous groomers took 8-10 hours to groom him. Granted, our guy is crate trained and not stressed out it’s wonderful to have him in and out in a reasonable amount of time. He is dog aggressive and the team does great making sure we get him in and out without drama. We get the bath and tidy for Jughead every 2-3 months and cannot recommend this location more!

They were awesome with my boys. We had them bathed and tidied while visiting. My boys are smelling wonderfully nice for our drive home. I would have appreciated an approximate timeline, as the website says four hours and they called me after 2 hours (which awesome service!) But bummer when you have to pay extra if you re more then 30 minutes late. They called right as we got our food at lunch. I get the need for a late fee but a helpful timeline given at drop off would have made it easier to plan our day. However, totally worth it for the excellent care given to my boys!

I am coming late to give a review to this awesome place! They gave Bugsy the best haircut of her life and she’s had a few since she’s 4! She came out looking awesome! She gets diarrhea every time she’s left at the vet or for a haircut and here I got her groomed first time in the morning while I had a wonderful breakfast at the French place next door!

I love this place! Always consistent with price and quality. I've been taking my first dog here for several years. And for the last 2 years I take both my pups at the same time. They always come back looking great. Marilyn does an awesome job!

This place is horrible they can’t ever get my dogs cut right they always leave his toes full of fur and can’t even trim the butt than they think they have the right to save your credit card on file without asking and make random up charges to your card… days after your dog is done they will call you and say they forgot to charge you for something but won’t tell you for what and will just charge your credit card without permission. when they can’t even do a simple trim This place scams you out of your money.. the owner Marilyn is on drugs or something cause she out

This is the second time I've brought my three long-haired Chihuahuas to Pretty Pets and I'm feeling lucky to have found them. A staff member at my vet's office recommended them so it was a recommendation I trusted. My pups look wonderful when I pick them up and most importantly they seem pretty relaxed, not stressed. Another thing that is important to me is that they don't have to be dropped off in the morning and left all day. I have a set appointment time to being them in and I get a call when they are done, just a couple of hours later. The atmosphere is calm, the space is clean and you can tell all the staff are animal lovers. My pups give Pretty Pets paws up!

The most comfortable I've ever seen my poor, anxious pup in the care of someone who wasn't me. Nervous as he was, and always will be, I was told he was very good, patient, and quiet! Some things I've never heard from the vet before. I believe they have fostered the perfect environment to let even the most nervous of dogs relax.Best value for the money. Highly recommended!

In my opinion, the best groomer in town. Marilyn truly cares for each pet she grooms. Our Yorkies look beautiful when she is done and they are happy. Love this place. It took me a long time to find a great place where my fur babies feel safe and comfortable. I won't go any place else! Thank you Marilyn and staff for taking such good care of our family members. You all are the best!

We moved to NM right before the pandemic, and finding services has been incredibly difficult. So grateful to have found this groomer, as I had zero luck finding anyone in Placitas (one woman didn’t return my calls or messages, another service wanted $85 to “groom” my 5 lb, short-haired dog, and that did not include expressing her glands, which is one of the main reasons we need a groomer). Pretty Pets made it easy to book online, and they were quick, professional, and very kind and gentle with my nervous little Chi. A basic grooming included nail-clipping, bathing, ears cleaned, and anal glands expressed, and was very affordable. The best part, however, is how well they took care of my dog. I was a little nervous before I walked in, but once I met the staff and saw how relaxed and happy all the dogs inside were, I immediately felt at ease. At long last, we have found our new groomer!

I'm so grateful we found Pretty Pets Grooming! We moved to Albuquerque a few months ago and had a terrible experience at another groomers. When we walked into Pretty Pets Grooming the environment was so calming, no anxious pups to be seen, and everyone there seemed like they were happy to be there. I am so appreciative to find a place were I feel comfortable leaving my sweet pup for hours at a time. I know he will be cared for and loved in a calming environment.Glad to leave him in the hands of people who genuinely care for and love animals.

Very upset. We came today 07/01/23 at 10am because it said online they were open but nobody was in the shop but there was a sign said “Nail Gridding Sat from 11:15am to 1:15pm”. We decided we would stay on this side of town and come back. So we come back and still nobody’s there and their voicemail saying “We are busy with customers” Umm… no you’re not, there is nobody even there! Never again. Tried to stay local but not like this.

Me and my boyfriend have been taking our dogs here for a little over 3 years now. Mainly cause of our mini schnauzer and our other little chihuahua got jealous so we would just take him for a bath too. Recently our dog passed and when we scheduled our dog to just get a bath we had let them know. We received a letter when we picked up our dog and it was a card saying how sorry they were to hear about her passing and I just want to say on here that she loved going here and getting her fur cut and the people who work here care about the service they provide and everything they do earned them a customer for life. You guys rock and I can’t say how grateful I am to find a place that treats my fur babies how I want them to.

I took our two Huskies in today to get groomed! So here are my thoughts:Cons:I wish more hair had been cut from the hindquarters area on one of the dogs. But it could just seem like a lot right now because she is so fluffy!Pros:Told me it could take up to 5 hours for both dogs, but they finished in 2.5 hours!Both dogs look amazing! So soft and they smell great.I explained that both dogs were rescues, and one was abused before they took him away from his previous owner. I told them that they both get anxious, and they were very receptive and listened to my concerns, and were so sweet to our babies!I left treats for them, and they definitely gave them some for me :)Both dogs looked so happy!! And that is what really matters.Thank you so much! Will definitely be back again.

Marilyn at pretty pets has been taking care of my dachshund for more than ten years. She works well with his anxieties and he actually tries to run into the shop when we arrive. I have boarded him with her many times and trust her to keep him happy and safe.

Pretty pets always does a great job! One of our dogs had been abused before she came to us and going to the groomers was traumatic for her UNTIL we found pretty pets. She no longer panics when we go for grooming and is totally calm and happy when we drop her off and pick her up. Highly recommended this wonderful shop.

I have been taking my two Golden Retrievers here for a while. I've tried other groomers, and keep coming back to Pretty Pets because they usually do a great job. I understand there are different groomers and not every visit is the same. On my last visit, my girls got a new groomer that didn't get the job done correctly. Marilyn was very concerned, apologized, and re-groomed our girls for free. Thank you! I will continue to go here, as they have always been friendly and courteous. They also have an area where the dogs can roam around a bit, instead of sticking them in a cage. This is less stressful for our girls.

I just had my cat groomed and they did another fantastic job. They always make sure that my "kids" are comfortable and well taken care of. I have been taking my two dogs and one cat here for several years for grooming. Today they went above and beyond. They typically shave my cat for the summer in a lion cut, well I asked them to shave her like a dragon and they did a great job once again. It is always easier to book an appointment online with them, they are usually to busy to answer the phone. They always have my dogs/cat done within a few hours and they call you when they are done. Don't expect to leave your pet there all day!

Brought my lil min pin in for a nail trim last week. She hates getting her nails trimmed. She had to be harnessed and muzzled and still flailed like a maniac. Owner Marilyn was not phased one bit and quickly got my pup's nails trimmed AND filed. She was gentle and patient. I brought my pup back for a plaque cleaning today. We have been saved from the stank breath! We will be back again and appreciate this local business for helping us out.

Took Luna for the first time to Pretty Pets and she came out from her appointment so soft and well manicured. It took a few weeks to get her in for her “tidy up” but it was well worth the wait. We will definitely be back.

The last time my dog was groomed was the best she has ever looked! The cut was exactly what I wanted. There was some confusion about when she would be ready. In the past a different groomer had finished within 2 hours which is why I took her back. This time I called from the parking lot after 2-1/4 hours and was told it would be about 30 minutes longer. I assumed I would be called when she was ready but ended up leaving her over 3 hours (with no call when she was finished) which I feel is excessive for my 16 year old dog.

Well first off the people there are so nice, but more importantly they are obviously animal lovers! They were all so good with my dogs the other day. Not only were my dogs grinning from ear to ear when I picked them up but my babies looked so gorgeous!! They did such an awesome job! I would highly recommend that everyone take their animals here. They care for the animals so much more than a big corporate place like petsmart or something. Absolutely loved it there.

Marilyn is an absolutely fantastic groomer who truly loves animals, is attentive, and always does a wonderful job. I am one of "those" owners who is probably unnecessarily overprotective of my blind Cavalier King Charles and I completely trust Marilyn. She's a gem!

my wiener dog loves this place. she is always really happy when I drop her off, and I'm always happy with the job they do. we have been many times since I got my dog last year. The dog was even happy there when I brought her straight from animal humane as she was pretty stinky. I told then she was stressed as I just got her from the pokey and they were fast and extra lovey.

Brought my dog in for a nail cutting and they were so good with her. It was her first professional cutting and sanding but everything went perfectly and I was done in 15 minutes. The groomer was friendly, professional and did a wonderful job. Will definitely be back.

I started taking my little shih tzu to Marilyn at the beginning of the summer. Watson and I have had nothing but lovely experiences everytime we go. He is always ready to go when she tells me and usually a couple of hours before. To my knowledge he has never been put in a tiny crate but always waits in a small waiting area behind the desk that is safely gated. He always looks fantastic when he comes home. He looks like a different baby altogether. (he loves loves to dig in the dirt and turn himself brown) He is kind of shy little guy but he goes right to Marilyn and has never been upset or anxious. He is always happy arrive and happy to go! Thanks Marilyn!Update: I no longer use this grooming service. Went downhill on the grooming. Now use a mobile groomer!

Brought in my 1 1/2 year old Border Collie mix in for a bath and brush. Ended up adding the de-shedding treatment and brushing his teeth. Picked him up and he looked great! He was also giving his own approval by a super tail wagging! Good job and reasonable prices.
