Jacob did a great job! Very patient, awesome with the dogs. I overheard him talking and communicating with a dog he was working with. He was patient and calming the dog telling him that it was OK and he was being a good boy etc.

Called to insure the grooming was open. Staff asked for pet's info and when I arrived all was ready. Pets had there nails trimmed. They were treated well.

Hi. Petco screwed up so badly, I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews here. Leads me to believe they may be deleting negative comments. Anyways, I brought my dog in to get groomed, and a day later, she was in so much pain that she had to be rushed to the vet for severe pain medication. She had to be prescribed nerve blockers for her pain. Her neck, shoulder, and back were badly tweaked. If that wasn't bad enough, the soap they used caused a terrible reaction on her skin. Her hair is still falling out in huge clumps. There are several large, bloody sores all across her neck and back. I had to rinse her off several times and use baby soaps and lotions to soothe her skin. She has been in very rough shape since her grooming.There is no other place or time she could've gotten this. I am with her constantly. I work and attend school online, so I have been in the room with her 24/7. This only started after she was groomed.I was told when I went to pick her up at the appointment that there were no problems and she was quite calm. This means that either I was lied to and she pulled against restraints so badly that she injured herself in this way, or she was handled extremely roughly by the groomer. Unacceptable behavior. Plus, she's a young dog. Only a year and a half old. No underlying health conditions.Let's see if this gets deleted!

Great overall experience! Samantha was very friendly and helpful and did a great job on my pups cut. She was also finished grooming in about 1/2 the time of my old place. We were able to get in quickly and have an upcoming visit already scheduled.

My girl had long nails I was afraid to cut. She is a Chihuahua and thinks she is my baby. The staff took great care of her. She got a bath, and her nails cut and buffed. She wasn't stressed out when we picked her up. We already scheduled her next visit. Thank you so much!

My husband and I have been bringing our 2 dogs to this location for around a year now. We have had issues at other locations with 1 of our dogs not responding well with feeling the groomers anxiety with him as he gives resistance while getting his nails cut. But with everyone at this location, both of our dogs have been great! Everyone is very patient with them and very friendly! Sox has always done great here and Sadie is always very calm, which only feeds into our happiness with the location!

This was my first time taking my rescue Beagle (Sophie) to a grooming salon. Being a rescue baby, she can get scared easily and does have some separation anxiety (she began to cry and bark from the back). However, Cecilia at the San Mateo Petco location in Albuquerque made this new, and potentially frightening experience, absolutely wonderful. She reassured me that Sophie did a wonderful job and Sophie even had more spring in her step the rest of the day. I will definitely be going back to Cecelia for future grooms. THANK YOU!

I have a challenging four-month-old puppy who is uncomfortable getting her nails trimmed. Ironically, she was so happy upon arrival, actually wanting to go into the grooming salon and greet the girls working there. They had her nails trimmed and buffed in less than 10 minutes. I find that Petco is a very relaxed atmosphere with staff that cares about pets. The cookie bar is always a good place to stop and bribe your pet! I also like that it's not a bright, over-stimulating environment as my puppy does get anxiety at other busy, louder pet stores. We will come back.

When I returned after 1 hr to pick up my pet, the groomer informed me that she would need 3 hrs to complete my dog's grooming. My miniature poodle was found to be half shaven after 1hr of me dropping him off. He was making screaming noises in the car all the way home and did was in so much pain the entire night that he was unable to move in order to go potty. I believe the groomer and/or one of her coworkers hit my dog multiple times so much that he incurred pain. I had my dog checked by a vet and the vet determined that may be the case also so I have proceeded to hire an attorney who will file suit for animal abuse and neglect. I will tell everyone I know to NEVER take their pet to PETCO for grooming services because the staff is incompetent and uncaring.

The techs feel as though they are vet techs and tell you that maybe your dog has skin issues that could be contagious. Which no like I told them he has dandruff. Which after taking him to the vet that’s what it is. So extra money to find out what we already know

Bella smelled so good and was so clean and her groomer was nice to her abs got lost of her off her from deshedding. Her nails were perfectly cut and filed, ears and teeth cleaned. Bella was a happy girl :) which makes me a happy furmom

The only reason they got 4 stars is because I like how I groom my dog better. If I need to take my standard poodle somewhere this is the place I take him... Otherwise it's more affordable for me to do him myself

They give appoiment at 3pm for cut my 2 dogs and I get there early one hour because I get ride in uver and the person said You have to wait in order that you have you appoiment and she was around ,ignored me .when cut nail is less the five minutes.

Poor job, my dog was supposed to have full service. She wasn’t washed, one leg was trimmed and the groomer want me to be she sometime the next week so she could groom the leg she didn’t do. The nails on my dog weren’t cut. After waiting three hours for a job not right the first time why would I bring my dog back?
