I just came to this location to return a goldfish and the person working the department was super knowledgeable! I learned a few new things and I'm definitely going back when I want more fish. Brought my dog in to get his nails trimmed and buffed. The girl there did a great job with him as he is afraid of everything. She even gave him a goodie bag to go home with. We came in as a walk in and were helped right away. Plus they offer all kinds of grooming services and vaccinations on Sundays.

I purchased a gamma food vault for camping with my dog. It was way too big just for a couple of days worth of food so I was going to return it, but then I realized it would hold all of my dry food as well. I used it and not one animal bothered me. It rained all night and not one drop of water got into it. I love it and it's much less expensive than a bear vault. The staff at my Petco are always friendly and helpful. 🙂

email promotion is very misleading it says 20% off, but i have to purchase online on your website. i can't just walk into the store and get the 20% discount like i used to be able to with your older email promotions. also the purchase is only discounted 20% of the first $50 so if i order more than $50 i don't get a discount on the rest of my purchase so this forces me to just order in $50 increments. i am not happy with how complicated this makes it and that you are forcing me to order and purchase through your website. i feel this is manipulative. and i don't like it! its putting me in the mood to shop elsewhere, and it is a strong likelihood. i don't like being manipulated like that by PETCO.

The convenience of placing my order online was simple. When I arrived I called the number and a worker from Petco placed my order inside my vehicle. I did not have to go in and wait in line to check out. I also tried to price match the ordered product with an online only pet company, they refused to price match any products. For me Petco was my only choice when I placed the order and decided to personally pick up dogs pet food. I will continue to shop online at Petco.

I've had snakes off and on for decades. Three years ago we got a boa that had issues with live food. We took a suggestion to try thawing frozen rats and feeding them with tongs. It worked like a charm, no more issues. Petco is the only place where we have been able to get frozen rats for our boas. Our closest location doesn't always have the right size, but with several other locations in town we are always able to feed our snakes when they're due. The reptile experts at our West side location have given us a lot of valuable knowledge. Thank you Petco!

I changed stores because Michelle became the new manager of the San Mateo store. Her customer service and knowledge of products and animal health are exceptional. Her staff is well trained and super friendly. Petco is very lucky to have her!

The customer service there is excellent! From the manager all the way down to the cashier Gail! Gail is the best! I love the sales, I absolutely love the points program! The store is always clean as well as the bathrooms and everything is easy to find!

Petco is a little pricey, but I really appreciated the overall cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the staff there. I also like the variety of products I found. I rarely give stores a 10 rating, but this store comes awfully close.

All of their employees are really nice they're always extremely helpful!The store is clean considering you can bring your pets inside! The shopping carts and parking lot are clean.Shelves are always fully stocked and everything is in its place so products are easy to find and get to! In the departments I shop in the prices are low, I shop for 2 dogs and 4 cats so Im always looking for quality products that don't bankrupt me.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. My in store pick up orders are normally completed in 15 minutes which is fast. They are in stock for the supplies I buy which us dog cat and fish food.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful. All safe practices were in place and I felt safe taking my son and my puppy inside. I do not take my son anywhere, but because I called first to make sure all staff were masked and gloved up, I really felt confident. Thanks for keeping us all safe during this pandemic.

Clean store, friendly staff, items not found in other shops.We would have given 5 stars if there were more choices for dogs over 50 pounds. Lots of choices for under 50 pounds. So if you have a medium or a small or extra small dog,, you will be fine.

They had the treats my little dog likes. Store is close to home. Since the heading is training. My little poodle and I did the training course 12 years ago when she was a puppy. Their method worked very well, we practice the commands regularly and she's still well behaved. Most important to practice, is coming when called. It has saved her from danger a few times.

There wasn't anyone on the floor to ask where I could find an item. Apparently, they were in the office area. Cashier was not friendly. Very bad customer service. I will not shop at this location again, but will go to the location much closer to where I live. Good experiences there, but did not have item I've been waiting on.

I just stopped in to get dog collars. They only had a cashier and one other helper. They both were nice, however the girl was not able to help me figure out about dog collar size. I just walked out. Won't come back. Pets Mart is way better.

The staff was helpful but not annoying. I wasn't sure if I could find what I needed there (probiotics for my cat) but I did, and even in treat from which he likes better than the powder.

I went to this PetCo looking to purchase some things to help my dog and cat who both have fleas. Upon entering the store I spent 15 minutes searching for flea collars and medicine which I could not find. No one ever came up to ask if I needed assistance so I went looking through the store for an employee only to find that there were none inside. I then found three employees all standing outside talking and asked for help. She told me she would send someone. A couple minutes later a guy asks me what I needed and I told him a flea collar for a cat. He just said "don't have them" and walked away. Such rude staff I don't recommend ever coming here!

Has a huge variety of fish, dog food, bird food, I don't know about cats. They have many different animals for your new pet and an adoption center. More expensive than Walmart but obviously more variety too

Yesterday (7/9/19), to celebrate the release of my third novel, I went to this store full of excitement. I had a tank and was ready to set it up and begin setting up a school of neon tetras.I spent nearly $200 on silk plants, a ceramic log, gravel, water treatment, filters, and 9 neon tetras and a plecostomus. I went home excited, certain that the water treatment I asked the aquatic "specialist" about using would ready the tank within an hour. The employee said that yes, what I had would make the tank ready for the fish right away.I returned home, set up the tank, turned on the filter and the heater, and proceeded to acclimate the fish before releasing them into the tank.I woke this morning to a cluster of dead tetras and a plecostomus pinned against the intake for the filter.To be fair, one of the tetras died before it could be placed in the tank, but to have an entire tank die off in less than 24 hours is not a thing I would have expected after having followed the directions on the water treatment so carefully. Upon further research and a conversation with a knowledgeable friend I discovered that the tank should cycle for a week before fish are added.Adding insult to injury, when I returned the dead fish today, the woman who handled the process held up the water treatment and asked if I was returning it. I said, "Yes, well, it says it makes the tank ready, but clearly it didn't. If anyone had told me to cycle the tank for a week, I'd have done it instead of killing the fish." Her response was a very bland, barely uttered, "Sorry for the inconvenience."Now I know these were fish, not adorable kittens or puppies. They were alive, and being sold from a pet store, as pets. What happened was not an "inconvenience." It was the direct result of misinformation, whether intentional or not, on the part of an employee of that store. If someone were buying an animal that would be handled, they'd be given all manner of tips - as I know all too well, having purchased a ferret from this same store many years ago.I'll never set foot in that store again. If I could throw the rest of the things I purchased at the woman who handled the return tonight, I just might, along with an apology for the inconvenience of not waiting for any of it to dry first.

You have pretty good prices and your staff is exquisite. Especially Tom. Tom in aquatics. Hes always so knowledgeable and does his best to help me every time I need it. I don't know why my review says dog training because I'm a dog trainer and I don't need Petco to train for me!🤣🤣🤣

This Petco is the best Petco in Albuquerque, in my opinion. The sales floor is always clean, their animals are always healthy and the staff is always very helpful. I usually go in for the fish, but I have seen all the animals and they're all in good shape.However, I would avoid the restrooms. They're usually pretty dirty.Still, this is my go to Petco location.

The pet supplies they have here is fairly decent and they have a very knowledgeable staff about pets. The aspect of this store that sets it above and beyond the competition are the dog lessons. The head dog trainer and the assistant dog trainers are amazing. They are professional, knowledgeable, and just a delight to work with. They care about the training of the pet and the well-being of every student. If you ever get a new dog (regardless of age) you should immediately sign up for lessons here.

Went in looking for nerite snails. They didn't have any in stock (they only had saltwater snarls), but they had a pretty great aquarium section with a nice selection. I was tempted to pick up some red cherry shrimp, but decided against it since I had to leave snailless.
