Very friendly staff. I’m visiting NM and was surprised they had the high quality chicken strips I thought were only sold locally in Arizona. I have the hardest time finding them and they were here! I can tell this store orders quality products. I’ll definitely be back each time I visit ABQ a few times a year.

I was impressed by the knowledge of the staff and variety of products. I have a poodle who can’t seem to keep weight on. Talked to them and found out the meat food I was giving her was actually not that healthy for her needs. I liked all the toys and other dog goodies and they send you home with tons of free samples if you want to try other foods for your pets.

Today, took my 11lb Yorkie for a self-serve bath. Bathing area was immaculate, 2 stainless steel tubs with padded mat on bottom of tub; generous assortment of shampoos, including oatmeal & hypoallergenic; lead to attached my dog to tub; towel provided as well has chest height hairdryer on wheels with 3 temperature & various speed settings. Tables next to tubs to dry your fur baby.I was given a complete walk through of the area, shown hot and cold faucets, how to use dryer and what to do with towels, apron, lead, etc when my pup was finished bathing and was dry.Twice I witness the tubs being cleaned after two different dogs - very impressive.Complimented staff and will definitely return. Just bought a new dog chew called Woodies. Highly recommended by staff. He couldn't wait until we got home and immediately started to enjoy it in the car. Which is highly unusual for him.

Wonderful staff, they're very knowledgeable and are able to make suggestions as far as food. Annually there is a big sale and little gathering for members to have a good time. Wide range of feed for dogs and cats of all life stages. You can bring your animal inside and they'll get a treat with your approval. Only place we buy our food for our Boogie!

This is a fabulous store and has mostly great products. I'm very pleased with the stock of canned cat food of the appropriate blend of protein and fat, grain free dry food for a diabetic cat. The prices are good and the staff is quite helpful.On the flip side:After my cats had a reaction (both of my cats, not of the same breed) to my diffuser with all different kinds of essential oils, I had to take them to the veterinarian. My vet told me that essential oils and fragrances are not good for cats. I believed they would help, being an alternative health person myself. Instead they both began squinting their eyes all day long, coughing and sneezing. This is a common reaction in cats, as I understand it, putting them under undue stress. I changed all the products in my house to unscented formulas as recommended by my vet. Problem solved.To make a long story short some products for cats in the store have essential oils, yet nothing written on the label. The staff aren't aware of it and stated it didn't have any when asked. After noticing the strong smell, I looked up the product online and found that it does have lavendar and chamomile scents.I believed it appropriate to inform the store. I called the store the next day (today), the disgruntled answer was "Well, I don't know who told you that and I'm sorry but you won't get a refund (unsolicited)" This wasn't a resolution. I feel the products should be chosen with recommendation from veterinarians. This one was only vetted by someone(s) that attended universities, but not veterinarians as evidenced by the documentation. I realize that essential oils are the craze and sell well, but they haven't had the practice and experience of veterinarians weighing in. These products should be reviewed and removed from the shelf for this communty of beloved cats, in my opinion.My cats mean everything to me.

Maggie insisted on swimming in the Rio today. Long Leash helped us with our stinky doggy emergency. They let us bathe right away. Maggie chose the oatmeal soap, but there were many other options as well. Maggie does not have a blow-dry doo, so we were out of there lickity split...once she got her treat. Afterwards we walked over to Marble Brewery and enjoyed a beer and a bowl of water while we dried naturally.

This is aimed at store ownership, not the staff. Staff has generally always been nice. I've been buying here for many many years. I like to support local business's even if the cost is slightly higher then else where. Walking in to this place now feels like your walking in to some kind of bio hazard experiment. You the customer being the experiment. The entire staff in masks, signs pertaining to masks upon entry, large plexiglass barriers around the check out, etc. If some one wants to wear a mask that's perfectly ok with me. This is not that situation. This is one hundred percent a store owner driven decision and tactic. I'll leave the obvious political agenda alone. Me as a customer will not return and deal with the blatant insinuation and agenda. And for the nay sayers, my better half works in the hospital and deals with more heinous things on a daily basis then any of us going to purchase dog or cat food.

Recently popped in for the self-serve wash for my Sheltie. Best self-service wash that I have used in the metro area. It was clean, well stocked with product and had a dryer that was enough to work through her coat. We were greeted and directed as soon as we walked through the door and the staff checked on us while we were washing and drying to see if we needed anything. Super price too - about $10 less than we have paid at the other local places. Definitely would use this service again!

What an absolute gem!! Love the helpers! Terrific collection of goods at great prices, even though it's a bit out of our way, we'll be returning on a regular basis. Puts petsmart too shame.And the self serve bathing area is just perfect for a quick rinse or a real good scrubbing for your beloved pooch. It's Oskar approved!!

Do not recommend for thick coated breeds. Siberian Husky owner here. Took my puppy in for a quick wash since it's too cold to wash her outside and I didn't want to risk clogging my bathtub. The staff were nice and polite. Called before I went and was told they had everything I would need. The 2 towels they give are small and thin so they get soaked pretty quickly. The dryer didn't dry anything and they tell you to try and limit your time to 25 min. I spent 30+ on drying alone. The dryer was at full blast and heated. She was still very wet. Took her home and a blow dryer worked better. They didn't supply a brush which I would've taken with me had I known. I am sure this place works great for other breeds and short hair.

I love the staff. They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, as well as friendly. My dog had been eating grass and weeds. They suggested enzymes and a change in his food. My dog no longer eats grass, and likes his new diet much better.

Have been a long standing customer and always got great service until today. A young lady asked if she could help me to which I replied “I’ve asked 3 people now to check if you have …” Note: the first person returned ti what he was doing and it was obvious he forgot. The next person walked in the back and disappeared. She replied “how am I supposed to know what is going on?” Her tone was very rude. I said “don’t you work here?” She grabbed the bag of dog food I had and threw it on the back counter and said “I’m not going to wait on you” to which I said “I could care less”. I’m going to have to rethink whether Long Leash is my “go to” for my pet supplies. It will depend on whether that young lady is still there when I return. She seems unaware that customers are what drives her getting a paycheck.

I enjoy coming to Long Leash on Life. They have dry food that I can't find elsewhere. I know they're a little more pricier than some other pet supply stores but we'll worth the high quality and the amount of product I get. I come here a lot with my family for our five dogs!
