im changing my 5 star review to a 1 star due to the unprofessional behavior that we encountered from the owner, of all staff the owner should be held to a higher standard of professionalism. if you can't have a positive happy customer service oriented attitude as you would expect your staff to have then my suggestion would be for you to stay in the back bookkeeping or making breadI'm newly gluten free. This bakery is a life saver

What a wonderful bakery. The bread is so fresh, I feel like I'm in the Tolkien's shire when I come in here; it's like being in a hobbit's pantry. The prices are good and the sandwiches are excellent. When it's nice outside you can sit on their outside table and chairs and enjoy your food. I highly recommend the green chili bread, the cubano and the breakfast sandwich w/bacon. Outstanding.

Great harvest is a bread company that has been with Albuquerque for many decades. Originally popular for their fresh baked varieties of bread, of which they have many, they have also branched out into providing bespoke bread-centric items. Jams, jellies, spreads, etc. They also have branched out into sandwiches. Having had many, you can't go wrong they are downright delicious. They are all fresh prepared using quality ingredients and of course their own bread. You should be aware however that this is not a chain or line cook style locale. Your sandwich will take a little bit of time to prepare, even if there isn't a line. That said; They are worth the wait.

This isn't primarily a lunch spot. They only have a bench table against the wall that has 4 chairs. It's primarily a fresh bakery and little shop. But wow it's worth getting a sandwich to go at least or if there's room try a hot sandwich and eat it at the window bench table. The fresh bread really elevates the sandwiches and their bread is good.

I didn't even know they had sandwiches until I got an email that I had earned a free one. I got the Hummus on gluten free bread. Best sandwich I've ever had EVER! Their gluten free pecan shortbread is also one of my favorite things to eat in the world. Date idea: Go for a hike and then have a picnic after with sandwiches and dessert from Great Harvest, and snacks and water and like Evolve or Suja or Just Ice Tea or something from Sprouts across the street. Easy to put together and you get so many points for that one! 😉

I must have died and gone to heaven 😇It smells so good in here! My first visit here today and I’m out of my mind with joy. This place does the real McCoy bread loafs of many varieties. When you walk I. The ask if you would like to try some of todays loafs and then cut you a huge hunk to try. What great advertising, I bought them both lol. They have the long crunchy French peasant bread, a variety of scones, cinnamon buns to die for, brownies, cake bars as well as a nice selection of gluten free types. They also serve sandwiches, soups to go and other misc kitchen gadgets, gifts and cards. Most breads come out of the oven between 11-2pm and I could see them selling out fast. Can’t wait to cut up a bunch of pieces and use it on a charcuterie board. Finally found my go to bakery. I live in the westside and it takes 30min drive, well worth it IMHO

On New Year’s morning, we needed a continental breakfast with a bit of flair. We contacted Great Harvest Bread and they totally exceeded our expectations! Not only were the baked goods presented beautifully, they were absolutely scrumptious. And the gluten-free options were even better! Our entire group of guests enjoyed the complementary variety and raved about each individual offering. In fact, they couldn’t wait to gobble up the leftovers the next day! We are fortunate to have a local bakery that can create this level of quality while performing on short notice. We’ll definitely be calling on them in the future for more baked goods. Thank you Hill and the staff at Great Harvest!

I love this place. It's in a good location and when you first walk in, it smells like heaven. There are so many things to choose from in here and everything I've had has been absolutely delicious. They offer samples for you to try and they make excellent recommendations if you're not sure what to get. They also make delicious sandwiches which isn't surprising considering how wonderful their bread is. My wife and I both love this place and recently joined their rewards program because we plan on coming more often. I highly recommend this place.

What a great bakery!Great Harvest Bread has fresh baked loaves of bread, along with sandwiches and salads.Today my wife had a breakfast sandwich and I had a roast beef and horseradish. Both were delicious and fresh made, which was a delightful treat. It's a busy little shop. In the time that we waited for our sandwiches, we must have seen a dozen patrons in and out.In addition to buying the sandwiches, we got free slice of bread. Smeared with honey butter, it was so delicious. Perfect appetizer while waiting for our sandwiches. The people who work there were so very nice. The woman who took our order, was helpful, happy, all smiles, and genuinely glad to see us. It's nice to have people like that helped us when we come in to a restaurant or a shop.I don't know how to classify Great Harvest. Is this a bakery? Maybe it's a sandwich shop, or a deli? Whatever it is, this was a lot of fun, and when they have good quality food.Five stars!

The cost of their baked goods is as high as the rise of their yeast. However, you do get what you pay for.I purchased a sourdough loaf for $8.95 and a package of 6 cranberry orange biscotti for $9.95.The bread was crusty on the outside, with a dense texture & lovely yeasty smell. It's not the sourest I've had, but it was still mighty yummy. Now the biscotti, I can't say enough about how delicious these are—literally the best I've ever had. They are packed mixed with candied orange rinds and cranberries so plump, I wonder if they soaked them first. Additionally, the tops are coated with large grain sugar. It took all my willpower not to eat 2. Ok, I stopped at 1½, but finished the other half after dinner.Next, I'd like to try the cranberry orange bread, as this is one of my favorite flavor combinations.Vegetarian options: Unless their baked goods are made with lard (which I highly doubt), all the baked goods should be vegetarian. However, since some of the baked delights are made with eggs, vegans will want to stick with the leavened breads.

They do gluten free bakes on Thursday and Sunday and their products are delicious. I love getting their green chili cheese buns for when I make burgers and sausage+egg breakfast sandwiches, you wont find a better GF bun. Their website is regularly updated with what they are currently offering and they have samples when you come in.

What a disappointing visit, staff is usually attentive, professional, and courteous. To have the owner (male) speak and treat us in such a disrespectful and unprofessional way was just so disappointing for a local bakery. How can we support local when you cannot be gracious enough to have customers. We did not even get a thank you he just said “you’re done here”!

Best Bread in Town! They have so many different breads that they make each day and they give out free samples so you can try it before you buy! Today I bought New York Rye, last week Pumpernickel and before that Sour Dough. I drive from the westside to buy my fresh bread here. They also make fresh sandwiches which I plan on ordering next time. Shoutout to Mariah she gave exceptional customer service and I look forward to seeing her next time!

I did not know this was in Albuquerque! I visited one in Utah and LOVE it! When you check out, you get a free slice of bread or other samples to eat right away! Ask for their baking schedules. They also have gluten free choices and sandwiches! I am so happy I found this bread bakery!

The owner completely disrespected my 80 year old father in law he went in to purchase several loaves of bread as he does every week and for the owner to YELL at him and him that it’s not his job supply bags for people who want to buy bread and told from here on out he needs to bring his own bags . It’s perfectly ok for a company to not want to supply bags but to talk to my father the way he did especially when he has been a customer for many years is Horrible!

The sandwiches here are pretty good, but be prepared for some sticker shock. Some of the food here is overpriced. I called in an order for a spicy turkey club sandwich and ended up paying $14 for just the sandwich (no chips or drink)! It was a pretty standard size sandwich, nowhere near large enough to justify the price. I think even the cashier felt a little sorry for me because she noticed the shocked look on my face after she told me the price when I picked up the sandwich. The scones here are decent as well. If money isn’t an object, this place is pretty good overall, but If you’re eating lunch on a budget, definitely look elsewhere.

There are some very good items including specialty bars. However, yesterday we ordered several challahs and were disappointed that none of them tasted fresh. Not sure why, but I would certainly look elsewhere if a fresh challah is important to your event or religious holiday

Had been coming here for years and frankly love the product, but not so much the price these days. Unfortunately, I very much dislike the owners, who have both been very short and rude to me. I have never been anything but nice, even when telling them about how I was treated by their employee, and I believe it is because of my appearance not being as white as they're used to seeing in their establishment. I have finally come to the decision that I will no longer patronize people who are rude to me and not just one but both pretend to be nice people when they're seemingly anything but, and it shows with how many people I have seen work there over the years.

Very few places get a 5 star review from me, but this is one of them. We went based on a friend telling us they had great sammies and we happened to be on that side of town, so we gave it a shot. Boy were we surprised when we found out that it was really a bread store that just happened to make great sandwiches.Sammies first, I got the Turkey Green Chile Cheese Melt and WOW was I surprised at how great it was. The bread was a selection of their in-house breads and I chose a green chile cheese bread. The toasting was just right and the slice thickness was a little thin, but didn't get too soggy. A little thicker would be ::Chef's Kiss:: in my opinion, but that's just nitpicking rather than it being bad. The turkey was fresh as was the green chile. No canned stuff here. All in the right proportions. The part that stood out the most was their in-house garlic aioli. It was so good, that I bought a jar of the sin-sational stuff to take home with me.My wife ordered the Cubano on their in-house fresh white bread. She said the black forest ham, turkey, and Swiss was all in the perfect proportion. She also nitpicked on the slice being so thin, but she also didn't think it really was a bad thing. Just made the last few bites a little soggy. What hit her was the pickled red onions. She said they were done perfectly and made her wish they sold jars of them. Now for the baked goods. We purchased a loaf of honey white bread and one of the green chile cheese. The bread was baked to perfection. Just the right amount of sweet for balance. It was not a fluffy bread, it's pretty dense but that is actually a plus. The density made it great for our own sammies and that superb garlic aioli. I actually used it to double up the bread slices to make it thicker for the hot sammies. The cold sammies were just right with the thin slices. We also got a couple of scones. I got a strawberry and blueberry that reminded me of our trip to London. It wasn't the super sweet American version, but the subtle sweet that the British (and I) love. My wife got the cherry pecan and she couldn't stop talking about it for days after it was gone. My kids even loved them and asked us to trek across the universe to get more. Hehe, we live on the far westside, so it's a trip to get there. We also got the 4 cinnamon roll package, though I can't review those as they were eaten up before I was able to get one. Though that in and of itself should be the review. My family loved them and begged for more. The last bit was the garlic aioli, which is potent. Don't use it like mayo, mix a little in with your mayo for the perfect blend. If you go straight without mayo, it's actually kind of spicy. So be prepared. We have now decided that Saturdays are the day to go because of the scones and the fact they bake different stuff on different days. Just ask for a menu and you will know what days they bake your favorite yum. I recommend this place to all my friends and I recommend it for all of you as well.
