What happened to the prices???? This is not by any means a store where you can expect to find a bargain. I definitely wouldn't waste any time here. $5 for a bead box? You can get one twice this size brand new at Walmart for $3.99. At this rate, you might as well buy new at a retail store. It's great the profits go to a good cause, but this might as well be an auction house not a thrift store.

I like this store..prices are a bit high but they do carry some nice products. Most staff are friendlyexcept for the man at the front counter..he needs to learn how to talk and be more helpful. I greeted him as he was hanging clothes and he acted like I was bothering him. He probably needs customer service training or look for another job.

Nice new store. Ridiculous prices! A container of tennis balls that were cheaper on Amazon and there was a dessert plate for $20 exactly like one I bought at Walmart for $4. There were other customers also laughing about prices when I was there.I used to manage a thrift store which also benefited an animal shelter in another town and when I started there the prices were also ridiculous but after slashing prices we sold a lot more merch and made more money for the shelter. This place is going to price itself right out of business. . I stopped going to Savers because they raised prices so much and they are not even a nonprofit.

I'm just not sure what's going on here. We have donated many popular brand new items from our online shop in the past that had been used for photo displays, orders that were lost in the mail and returned etc but I will not be donating anymore due to a friend who adopted from the shelter a few years ago who has a reactive dog and desperately needs training help but is disabled and low income and can't even get a call back and/or a return email from this facility. We will take our items and auction them online to raise funds for training help if this facility can't help people who have adopted and need assistance.

NEW ASPCA THRIFT5234 Menaul in Daskalos shopping center.I have now visited the NEW store five times in their ‘opening month’. Each visit has gotten better. NEW signage is now up making it easier to find.First timers note: go East on Menaul past Bailos, left at the all brick (not very New Mexican) Center. Simple numbers on clothing without dollar signs confused me on first visit: price not size. This new modern world “Savers” benefitting pets is a galaxy different than their older store. It is like the new Whole Foods store, which has ‘gone Amazon’ with a store. Interior is a much nicer looking ‘box’ about the size of Savers and much more welcoming. This store is world’s above Thrifttown for lighting, breathability, and looks. There is over and above care shown for alphabetizing to the DVDs/CDs/books. I found a wonderful dog bed that I had been searching online for, at a reasonable price.I have ‘thrifted’ in Albuquerque since 1985 in ALL areas from the heights to South Valley. I believe that this store easily has potential to be a Top Five or better store for Albuquerque thrifters. Our family recently had a gorgeous older furniture piece that we wanted to donate vs sell. The ASPCA has a GREAT online set up for large item pickups (many thrifts no longer ‘pick up’). Be prepared to add description with photographs. We were contacted immediately for a scheduled ‘pickup’.

One of the best thrift stores in town! I love that the profits support Animal Humane. I’ve found so many treasures here!

I used to shop here a lot. The prices have become unrealistic for people that use thrift stores. The mission has always been great but people cannot afford the prices Many items are equivalent to new prices and they are used items . Today I saw a used tee shirt JC Penny brand and it and many others were 8 dollars. I little plastic tray, 5 dollars a wall decoration 25 dollars. I expressed my concern to the manager a few months ago and she seemed defensive. Not sure this is all going to the animals. I believe increased staff to make it look better and raise the prices is making bottom line for the animals the same.

I love the mission behind Animal Humane Society and have spent thousands at this thrift store over the years. That said, the prices on so many items have become ridiculous to the point where donations sit on the floor/behind the glass for months. It seems as though this store is trying to price match with eBay. The catch is, they don’t get anywhere near the eye balls eBay does and no one is coming to a thrift store to pay the same prices they can find online from the comfort of their home. This new model almost all thrift stores are trying out (ebay pricing in store) won’t work out in the long run and will eventually destroy the business.

Sadly the prices of these items are basically the same as a retail store. Wine glasses are $3, whereas I got them for $1 brand new at a retail store. Same with their craft supplies like yarn, it's the exact price as new ones in the chain stores, but it's taped and the yarn's integrity is not the same as brand new yarn.

The people who recieve the items donated have been less than gracious. Except one. Donations are what help this org continue. Be kind and helpful with those who care enough to donate to you. There are plenty of other places to donate to. Unenthused with the staff. 😖 But believe in the cause for animals.

Very high prices, especially in electronics where most items are priced as if being sold online on ebay or something. Shoes used to affordable here, but now anything decent is $20 or more. Might as well start selling on ebay at these prices.

I have never been in such a clean, bright, well organized thrift shop in my life! This store leaves most standard retail establishments literally in the dust! What a pleasure to wander through every single aisle and see how beautifully things are presented and organized. And how wonderful to think that the proceeds go towards helping animals. I highly recommend the pleasure of shopping in this wonderful store.

Oh how I love being talked down to when asking a question about an item they have for sale. A $75 item I was considering buying. And although I’ll always support the cause and love a great thrifted deal I’ll pass on the attitude and the item today. Hopefully next time they remember why they are there.

Used to enjoy going here but, prices have increased so much that I can just buy brand new items for the same prices. Guess inflation really hit this place big time.

Awesome, the shop is well organized, clean and full of goodies. Best of all the workers are friendly and enjoy talking to the shoppers. It's always a good shopping experience when you go here. And you get to help Animal Humane help animals and people. What more could you want?

This is a sad truth. The prices have doubled and tripled over the last couple of years. I used to be an avid animal humane thrift shopper and would rather my dollars have gone to their overall support of homeless pets than to a big chain thrift center such as goodwill or savers. I went in there tonight and was blown away by the pricing model. It couldn’t be farther from reasonable and I will have to start taking my chances with other thrift stores and online with let go or marketplace. I haven’t been here in a couple of months which is unusual for me, and I was disappointed to see that many of the objects that were here last time are still here due to them being so unreasonably priced. Thrifting is such a joy to many for finding unique and otherwise under appreciated and discarded items at a bargain. Thrift stores should stay thrifty imo, and skip the boutique model of pricing. So disappointing. 35.00 for a lamp that is sold retail for 75: 100 dollars for a cat tree that is sold on Wayfair for 55. 20.00 for a vase that can fit one flower in it. Art that isn’t really art being sold for 35.00. It’s just crazy.

This is a great store and it feels great to help a worthy cause. Let me just say one of the things that sets this thrift store apart is the fact that all of the books were actually alphabetized and categorized. Hahahaha! Highly recommend. The people that work there were very helpful.

I’m really disappointed. The prices here are so expensive. I heard one of the workers say they price match with eBay, which means that they must not understand that on eBay just because something has that price listed doesn’t mean that someone is gonna buy it, at least check sold prices! Plus on online second hand, the price is more expensive because you are paying the seller for the time it takes to upload photos, respond to questions, and drive to the post office to ship out items. It’s hard to make a profit selling online!250$ for a super stained couch, 20$ for a 15 year old jcrew t shirt? It seems unreasonable. They also were selling vintage items at the prices you would buy them at a vintage store, but that’s not how pricing should work! At a vintage store, the price reflects that someone else went to a thrift store, took the time and financial risk to provide you with a curated shopping experience, often times mending clothing, removing stains, and hand washing items. If all the thrift stores increase their vintage clothes to vintage store prices, it makes vintage stores have to price their stuff even higher, making it difficult to sell their stuff and stay in buisness. Many other thrift stores in the area have started raising prices, including savers. The reason they have done this is because their is an increase in interest in thrifting, and they are a for-profit company and if they increase prices the CEO’s make more profits. There’s no other reason to sell objects they got for free at high prices. It has nothing to do with inflation, and I’m not sure why animal humane is following suit.I get that they’re trying to raise money for animals, which is great but part of any thrift shops goal should be to provide clothing and housewares at discounted prices to people who can’t afford them, especially because for profit corporation thrift stores are raising the prices so much. Prices this high don’t show care about animal welfare, they reflect a lack of care for low income peopleI personally won’t be shopping or donating anything here anymore.

Great Store, for a great purpose. Earns high marks from independent rating agencies that rate charitable organizations. However, today I went to donate some things and found out that the hours had changed. What had also changed was the way of donating items. So I stayed until they opened up -- EXACTLY as 10:00 a.m. (like they just couldn't possibly open a few minutes early? -- they were just standing around). And THEN I was treated like a necessary inconvenience during cattle call. These people need to get a grip. We donators and customers help A LOT to keep AH in business. Virus or no virus, basic manners are in order. I decided not to donate; and I went to another thrift shop where donating was not only no problem but where I was treated well. It's going to be a LONG time before I donate to this organization again. (I do adopt old cats from its shelter, and I will continue to do so.)

I love this place, its like all thrift shops hit or miss, but i do find some cool gadgets here! They continue to have nice edged carpet samples that if you put a bit of grippy cloth on the back make great back door and garage shoe cleaner doormats.

The people are friendly and helpful, shop has plenty of variety and always have plenty of books and board games. I wish I had a truck, I would be able to load up on furniture too! My toddler can usually find a toy or 2, and it benefits charity. We'll be going back soon!
