Dr. Young and the rest of the staff provided outstanding service for our cat Binx. Everyone was thoughtful and conscientious while remaining pragmatic and honest about doing what’s best for our very sick girl. Binx was given the best care, and is currently happily at home doing her favorite activities - napping in the sun, eating, and bird watching. Thank you ❤️

First off I do want to thank them for getting my pup in so quick. However this accommodation along with the vet were the only good I had experienced while in clinic. The staff were very unprofessional. They were condescending with the care in explaining certain things to me and when it came to the bill they made comments as if I couldn’t afford the services. They also tried to charge me for services not performed. I didn’t have a good experience and will not be going back nor will I recommend to friends or family.Don’t let my review bias you as they have good reviews. This was written based off my first and only interaction. They just didn’t work for me or my needs in caring for my pup.

Absolutely amazing staff they definitely made a difference with my cats.The experience and friendly staff made all the difference. I highly recommend them 150 percent. They have a really strong and caring team, they are very friendly and understanding and as well as the doctors they explain everything very thoroughly and I am very blessed that they were able to help me with my cats yesterday and I appreciate them. I will definitely be returning to this clinic. They are just amazing all the way around, and I want to send a special thanks to them for taking care of everything yesterday. They also called the next day to see how they were doing and any updates on the cats. 💜Thank you so much to your team and the doctors for being so amazing in so many ways

Great Pet Care Hospital!!! Staff and Vets actually care about your pets. My wonder Lab Jake had a seizure and ABQ Pet made sure Jake got in within an hour (unlike my prior pet care provider). Yesterday, Jake and I went in for a well doggy check-up and the staff was terrific and didn't try to push unnecessaries procedures or products. The staff makes sure you understand what's going on with your pet and provides spot-on advice. Also, ABQ Pet provides exotic pet care as well, I can take my cockatoo in for care. One stop pet care. Thank you ABQ Pet!!!

When you have people that not only are passionate about what they do, but they are amazing caring people, it makes everything 1000x better. I take my two pups with Dr. Ortiz, and my mom takes her dog with Dr. Young. They both have been there for us when it gets hard. They have been AMAZING! They help you understand what is going on and help you make the best decision. Even on days where they don’t work, they will make sure that our pups are taken care of. Their staff is also AMAZING! I have been coming for about 3 years and each experience has been great!

I took my new puppy in for his shots and overall check-up. Dr. Young is wonderful. She answered all my questions since I hadn’t raised a puppy in many years. She and the staff were also good to my schnauzer when he got sick. Unfortunately the cancer wasn’t curable. Great place!

It was our first visit to ABQ Pet Care Hospital. Buster (my cat) seemed to think they were okay. He did think it had a smell of CLEAN, which he didn't like, but I appreciated. The staff were warm and genuine and enjoyed meeting us. We subscribed to a care plan and saved us almost $400 right on the spot! Kind and affordable. We found our new vet!

My dog was ill, but her regular vet did not have any openings. ABQ Pet Care saw her promptly. The vets there kept me updated on her status, and filled me in on her treatment options. She was well cared for and has made a full recovery. I am so thankful they were there for us.

Dr Young and the staff here are amazing. My baby boy Aries was in bad shape and I was fearing the worst. Their amazing care and dedication to animals really made such a difference. I’ve never had a veterinary experience of this caliber. Everyone that I interacted with was exceptional. My boy is safely home and I’m sure is missing all the love from the sweet staff. Thank you so much for everything you do! This is the only veterinary office I will use from now on.

Everyone in this office was very friendly, helpful, and efficient at giving my elderly cat the care he needed. They squeezed him in the next day after I called to schedule an appointment. I got good vibes as soon as I walked in and was warmly greeted by the woman at the front desk. The vet tech and vet were also really nice and I felt like they actually listened to my concerns about my cat who suffers from an unusual and challenging disorder, unlike some vets in the past. They handled him gently and quickly gave him the medication he needed. He is doing so much better since I brought him in!

Dr. Key saved my dogs life. II am so grateful for the care my dog received. She was incredibly thorough and very knowledgeable. Everyone there is so friendly, they all know my dog by name and he is excited to go to the vet. My dog also loves Dr. Key.

We had to put down our 13 year old mixed breed dog last night. We stayed until after hours due to his tumor rupturing. He was in pain and not comfortable. They made this difficult experience easier for us. They allowed us to bring in our younger dog say our goodbyes. Thank you for being so wonderful and kind during this process. We just moved to the neighborhood nearby. Thanks for staying late and not rushing us out.

Where to begin? I took my hedgehog in to see Dr. Young on 12/29. The doctor weighed him at 160g. I let her know that he’s actually closer to 320g and she told me I was wrong and that would be really big. He was about to go under anesthesia and I felt really uncomfortable about the weight, so we went back to ask for them to re-weigh. He weighed 300g on one scale and 292g on another. His medication was doses incorrectly, they fixed it.2 days later I hadn’t heard back about his lab work. They said they had submitted his species as a rodent and the lab hadn’t processed it. I didn’t hear back for a week and they told me the lab couldn’t process the blood and it had expired. They told me my only option was to go through anesthesia again. I looked at the X-rays and had 2 professionals also review and they never did any lateral views which would show bone density or disc issues- which was one of the doctor’s suspicions. I asked for other views and they didn’t have any.It took 10 days to get in contact with the vet to go over a plan. Since then, she’s only ever emailed me. Never called. She had me pick up a steroid for him and I got there and the weight on the bag said 160g. The medication was wrong again! The staff seemed very frustrated with the whole situation. They had to double the meds to correct them!This has been an absolute nightmare fueled by negligence. I would have preferred to be told that this doctor wasn’t fit to see hedgehogs so that I could be seen elsewhere. The amount of time of time I could have saved with someone with knowledge and care could be the amount of time between life and death.

I have only good things to say about ABQ PetCare. My regular vet wasn’t able to see my bunny for two weeks who needed rather urgent but not quite emergent care — I called all over Albuquerque to find a vet who will see exotics and NO one had availability for several days. ABQ PetCare was able to squeeze me in and I was really happy with the care my bunny received. I’m very thankful to Dr. Young for her thorough assessment of my bunny as well as her kindness — and I’d also like to shout out to our incredibly compassionate vet tech Eva who explained everything so well and was super nice to us. I highly recommend their team if you have an exotic pet like me!

My partner, our goldendoodle and Belgian malinois, and I have been to veterinary care facilities all over the US…ABQ pet care hospital is the best. We actually look forward to going to see them. We’ve been to this hospital 3x, interacted with several different people working the front desk and vet techs, and been seen by 2 different vets. The front staff is friendly, courteous, professional, and follow through on tasks (eg offering to and calling our old vet to get our prior records). The vet techs and vets approach/communicate with dogs [that aren’t familiar with them and might be anxious/stressed out] the correct way (eg sit on the floor, nonthreatening, let them come to you, etc) and get to know your dog. Saying they do NOT rush you out the door is an understatement. They seem to genuinely listen and care. When you ask them for suggestions or advice they explain the information to you in a way that is educational and not manipulative or to push a certain product. We will come back to Albuquerque just to see this office. In a world where many people take their job for granted, seemingly have little pride in their work, have a bad attitude, act as though the job is beneath them and/or they’re entitled to something better, etc, it’s a breath of fresh air to come to ABQ pet care hospital where you get none of that.

My experience with Dr. Key was awful! I had a 10 am appointment and my poor cat needed to be put down but by 2:30 pm, we were still waiting for her to end my cat‘s suffering. The managing DVM said it was due to poor time management and apologized for her, but I have never got an apology from Dr. Key. Just disgusting! If you go to ABQ Petcare see Dr. Ortiz, she is awesome!!

I had to make an emergency stop while on a road trip. Every interaction I had from the first phone call to the check out was warm, kind and accommodating. I am so grateful to have found this place and cannot recommend it enough to anyone that needs care for their furry friends.

They show concern and compassion each time my pup has had an emergency or seni-emergenxy injury. They have had fully scheduled days when they have worked her in. They are all good, caring people from the ones working the front desk to the techs to the vets. I'm so glad to have found them as that had not been my experience here in Albuquerque until then. Thank you ABQ Petcare for taking such good care of my fur baby.

Love the people, but this place really needs some improvements. Reminders frequently sent for services that are not due. Show up for a heart worm test, products not available (no call beforehand to let us know), time off from work wasted because of this. Called two days before to see if the heart worm vaccine was available, they sent my wife home with monthly chewables. Time to look for a better Veterinary clinic.

I met with Dr. Bays, who was very nice and quite informative. She provided several options regarding the testing for my dog’s diabetes. When the Fructosamine test comes back she said will contact me regarding treatment.Everyone at ABQ Petcare Hospital is very helpful and courteous and showed a lot of empathy towards my little buddy.

I highly recommend ABQ Pet Care! My fur baby Patches is getting older and needed a check up and a dental cleaning. He’s a little chihuahua and has a big personality, during his checkup they addressed a problem with blood in his urine which ended up being a urinary tract infection and I’m so glad they were able to give him the antibiotics he needed. A few weeks later we took him for a dental cleaning and he had to have a few teeth pulled which I was very worried about being a possibility but they took such good care of him and helped him to feel better and keep his teeth healthy. I was beyond impressed with the care he received and trust that he is in very good hands with the staff. Our pets are our children and the staff take that very serious and I appreciate how much they care. Very reasonable prices as well!! I live in Santa Fe and unfortunately the vets here aren’t taking new clients and are very expensive. I am so blessed to have found ABQ Pet Care. They were able to get him in quickly and help him in every way needed!

My 11mo pup was very sick and they took her in without an appointment. After finding out that she had parvo, everyone here did everything they could to help her AND me. They were kind, knowledgeable, and very comforting. I was able to take my baby home with since supplies for home care and she is feeling great! I thought we were going to lose her and ABQ petcare hospital brought this hyper little brat back. So very grateful for these amazing people.

When I tried to call and ask if someone can check out my ferret cause she's sick and I was told NO, they told me they don't deal with ferrets and to call someone else. But I saw another review where they helped someones ferret within an hour but I get told NO.. None of these vets truly care about the animals they just have want money.
