Delightful, clean and flavorful cuisine. The ambience is very casual, friendly and welcoming. The salad was very fresh, local produce. The green chile cheeseburger was awesome. And the Basque cheesecake. Melt in your mouth goodness. Made in house!!Parking: Special shade spot for people with dogs.

Had not tried Cafe Sierra Negra and took a chance. Happy I did! Flavorful and not your average Shrimp Tacos and the Mediterranean platter was a nice accompaniment. After our order was taken and brought, we never had another contact with our server, however, front of the house - Ben was friendly, unique and knowledgeable.Definitely pop in, you'll enjoy the different offerings!

Wow!Amazing food. The Abique salad was fantastic. We had the spinach crepe ant the turkey crepe. Both excellent. The cranberry relish has some intriguing spice that was really interesting. The green chilies stew was very tasty, but not at all spicy/hot.Definitely worth a visit, especially for the location, and at that price point.

I’ve had many huevos rancheros but this stands out as uniquely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Not too too spicy. Amazing. The service is slow as they seem understaffed, but the food is worth it. Don’t think I’ve had a more perfect carrot cake! Not too sweet, and so moist.

Great little restaurant in Abiquiu area! Interesting and creative menu choices plus beer and wine. I had the fish tacos, which were delicious and ample for dinner. Plus a glass of the house (French) Rose and yummy GF cheesecake for desert. All excellent! Wait staff very friendly and attentive. And the space is low-key and charming, with big windows and an outdoor patio. Will definitely return 😊

A great place to eat! I loved the counter with freshly baked coffee cake, carrot cake etc. The music was on and i was greeted by several friendly staff. I had heard the cookies were great but they were already sold out today. I ordered the fish tacos and they are really good. I definitely wanted more food so be sure to order something else if you have a big appetite. The coffeecake was good but not amazing. The only down side is that it took over 35 minutes to get my food to go. So be patient or call ahead. Additional info: plenty of parking, dog friendly, one restroom for everyone, spacious inside and out with shaded patio.

This is a gem! We were on our way to ghost ranch and decided on a whim to try this place out. The food was top notch with quality ingredients, we could taste the freshness instantly. We had the salad, mezze platter and fish tacos which were all excellent. We also got the cheesecake which was one of the best we've ever had. The owner/hostess is wonderful, friendly and takes pride in using organic ingredients for their food. Highly recommend!

Best fish tacos in New Mexico hands down. Shrimp enchiladas were amazing and featured a really unique blend of flavors. The coffee cake is so good as is the carrot cake. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Love the new patio shade for dining outdoors. Much better service and food than other cafes in the area.

This is my favorite place to eat on 84. I love their green chile stew. You can't beat the atmosphere. And, there's always interesting art on display. That gold rock, wow!

Great little Cafe just off the main road. The turkey crepe was delicious, so nice to find somewhere that serves more than just burgers. The lady who served us was great too, though I forgot to get her name. Next time.Parking: Parking available next to entrance, including some with shade reserved for cars with pets left in them.

Wonderful food that's very fresh. This cafe gives many places in Santa Fe a run for their money. If your driving through Abiquiu, definitely stop by and get some amazing food. The carrot cake is also delicious

Cafe Sierre Negra is a wonderful place. We stumbled across it on a trip through Abiquiu,. I ordered the prawn tacos. My husband ordered the fish tacos. We were not disappointed. My plate of prawn (or shrimp if you're American) tacos was delicious. The ingredients were really fresh, great presentation & the corn tortillas were so good, probably the best I've ever tasted - hands down! The atmosphere is vibrant, creative and unpretentious. Ordered the Basque cheese cake which was incredible. We enjoyed talking to the charming and enigmatic Wenche. One of the other servers was also great to talk to. She was dressed so stylishly - we talked about sewing projects. :) Also the woman who baked the cheesecake gave me some great tips on baking, didn't get her name. One of the most enjoyable eating out experiences we had in New Mexico. Thank you for the thoughtful and handcrafted gift Wenche, you are so talented! I'll treasure it always. 🙏Hope to see you again when we next return to New Mexico. We miss the food already. :)

On an extended vacation we enjoyed breakfast and two takeaway dinners. The food was uniformly excellent and matched by attentive service. We had a service dog with us who was also well treated. This and restaurants like it prove that being a little off the beaten is no handicap or to put it the other way you don't have to be in a fancy restaurant to get great food.

This restaurant is like eating at grandma’s the food is really that good, Serves was excellent.*** Have not been here for a year but very happy to see the restaurant has survived the plague and the economic times. It is as good as I remember and the owner has decorated the restaurant with local art work.

We were driving by to see the Georgia O’Keeffe house and saw this cafe and possibly the owner standing outside wearing a cute apron. That made us stop and check it out and it was the best lunch of our NM trip so far! We ordered green chile stew and chile relleno and both were flavorful and delicious! The presentation was beautiful, too and our server was friendly and helpful. It was one of the places where the owners care about all the small details and it shows. Great vibes all around!

Melodie and her incredible crew catered our rehearsal dinner and goodbye brunch for our wedding in Abiquiu a few weeks ago, and we are still reeling from the excellence. I knew from the sample menus she had sent us that the cuisine would be creative and inspired, but since we were having a destination wedding, we were not able to come out to taste things first. We put our trust in Melodie, and she delivered tenfold with a Tuscan-themed rehearsal dinner, and a hearty New Mexican breakfast buffet two days later. She also added thoughtful touches, like reaching out a few days before dinner and offering to make caprese salads with fresh heirloom tomatoes she had just gotten in, or a special dessert for one of our GF guests. Not only was the food served to us and our guests incredibly delicious - hands down the best we had anywhere in New Mexico during our entire stay - but Natalie, Ben, and the rest of the Cafe staff were so very warm and adept at calmly managing a herd of loud, hungry people. The cafe was cute as a button with a casual home-town feel, but fine-dining service. They had locals lining up waiting for the cafe to open as we were finishing our brunch and saying goodbye to our friends and family, but we never felt rushed, and they were so gracious with their time. The whole experience was top-notch, and we’re still in awe that we got lucky enough that this gem of a cafe exists out in the desert!Vegetarian options: Very willing to accommodate food allergies/preferences.Dietary restrictions: Very willing to accommodate food allergies/preferences.

New Mexican home cooking at its best. We went at noon on a Saturday and the owner apologized for it being slow. She was working alone because her help called in. Well, there was no need... The service was excellent and she was very friendly. It felt like Sunday lunch at grandma's house. And the green chile stew, as well as the homemade bread served with it, was amazing. If you love a good stew to comfort your soul, stop in and enjoy!
