Place is a dump and disgruntled employees will only help you begrudgingly. I used to frequent this place for typical odds and ends but now I prefer to go to the 537 location. At least there I'm not glazed over for requesting assistance because a sale item price didn't process correctly on the self checkout screen.🙄

On the evening of May 3, 2023, I made a routine visit to a local Dollar General store, despite its notorious reputation for being unkempt. Although I have never been one to write reviews, my recent experience compelled me to do so. As I was purchasing some ice cream at the self-checkout, my daughter presented me with a toy she had taken a liking to. However, the item was missing a price tag, prompting me to check the price on the self-checkout machine. Upon seeing the price, I told my daughter that we would not be purchasing the toy.As I attempted to cancel my transaction, I was met with confusion as I could not locate the cancel button. Despite searching for assistance, I found no one to aid me in my efforts. With no other option, I left the machine as is and proceeded to exit the store. It was at this moment that I was accosted by a woman who began yelling, drawing the attention of the entire store to my situation.After explaining my predicament to the woman, she proceeded to lecture me on the proper use of the self-checkout machines. It was clear that this woman knew nothing about customer service, as her attitude conveyed no willingness to help. It is truly disheartening to witness a once-reputable brand name tarnished by the actions of a single employee.

There was a line at checkout so I had looked for an employee to ring everyone out. I ask for help from an older black woman, the only person of that description that works there, and she got angry with me that I didn't just use self checkout. I told her there were other people in line that needed help and she said well they should use def checkout too. All while she was stocking shelves directly next to the register.

The refrigerator has black mold all over as well as food mold. When I opened the door the smell gave me a headache that lasted even after I left the store. The floors look like they haven't been swept or mopped in months. I don't think this store should be open until the mold and filth gets fixed by which I mean cleaned. It's unsafe to its customers health.

I've been to this dollar general a lot since it opened because I live nearby. The food packaging smells like mold. Yesterday when I was there, I saw mold all over the refrigerators. Mainly black mold. Food spilled. It's disgusting. The building in general seems like it's falling apart. There's water stains/mold. Things leaking top to bottom. There's no air conditioning. For a lot of the folks in this town it's their only place to buy what they need. This town is a food desert. It's sad.

This place is dirty. There's more dirt in the store then in the parking lot. They never have what you want. They are always outside smoking a cigarette and not working.Update 10/21/22The workers here still have attitudes. I went in again to give it a chance. Store isn't stocked well, floors are dirty. I shop in Bordentown Dollar General on Route 130 on my way home always. Great workers there, their always working very hard to keep the shelves stocked. New Egypt Dollar General is great as well.

Friendly service considering the shelves are almost empty and the restocking process is never ending for the few employees that I can only assume are left. Needs some TLC for curb appeal, but honestly the entire shopping center/business need TLC. I'm sure when things to find its normal and we get back to something other then this that will change. Will visit again, for service of staff and variety of items I am not use to having available.

June 1st 9:39 was already closed and an employee was standing right by the door. I walked away and the employee waited until I was in my car, unlocked the door, then just stood there watching me.

The store is well stocked and there's a nice variety of products. The staff workers are always nice. Maybe you could renovate the inside and outside of the store. Thank you

Not clean, Old dirty freezers, keep and eye on expiration dates, parking lot is a total mess and strip mall is a "ghost town" . There is a cleaner more organized Dollar General with more comprehensive stock within a few miles of this store.

I shop in quite a few Dollar generals but this one is my favorite. The manager in this store goes above and beyond for you. The place is just well managed and always kept clean.

I love Dollar General. They don't necessarily have best layout the ceiling leaked during a rainy day, but they always have something I need at a reasonable price.

They are not the newest looking store but they always have what I want or need. The people that work there are very nice too.

I mean, it's what it seems. Cheap food, school supplies, cards, hair products, etc. They do have plastic up and have taped out distancing near the cash registers.
