We wish we could give more than 5 stars because they absolutely earned more! The owners and staff literally saved our dog's life while she was staying with them! She had become sick very suddenly, the staff noticed right away and sprung into action contacting us and getting her the help that she needed immediately. If they had chosen to observe her symptoms to see if they improved for even 1 hour (which would have been a reasonable course of action had she not vomited right after drinking some water), our dog would not have survived.Joyful Acres owners and staff treat the animals in their care with the same love and attention as they do their own. If anything demonstrates that your pet is in good hands with Joyful Acres, please consider our story as proof.

Had my adult Siberian Husky, Cascade, stay at joyful acres on two separate occasions this winter, great experience, they took Cascade on a trail walk to visit the farm animals. Very happy with the service, great prices- will go back

I love the place. Very nice staff. My dog gets anxious in group settings, and so this place is perfect for him. Joyful Acres is 100 mi from my place, but i still make the trip every time my dog needs boarding.

If you must board, these folks care about your pups. They’re as good as it gets! Lovely and communicative. Signe, Brit, Jen, Susan, they’re all calm cool and collected! Highly recommend!

Our family is so grateful for Joyful Acres Kennel and all of the staff. On Labor Day weekend our Daughter-in-love went into labor. Our regular kennels in Northern NY we’re not available, so we called Joyful Acres which was close to the hospital. Joyful Acres answered the phone even on the holiday weekend! They helped us transfer our Vet records and were thorough which showed us they were professional and concerned the animals in their care. So, we drove our dogs almost 6 hours to Joyful Acres! Dog drop off went smoothly and our dogs seemed happy to go inside for their new adventure. I called multiple times to change pick up time and date and each time everyone was patient and kind. Pick up went smoothly as well. Our 4 dogs looked great and it was evident they enjoyed their stay as they were happy and playful. Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of our best friends, so we could support our loved ones in their time of need.

We are returning clients and just borded our two dogs at Joyful Acres. Our one Dog has pretty bad separation anxiety, the Staff go out of their way to make him comfortable!! During our trip I checked in several times and the Staff got right back to me to let me know all was well! The staff here is great and it is obvious they love what they do! Thank you for being awesome and for taking such good care of our boys :)

I boarded my lab mix here for the first time and I was so impressed! I emailed them while I was away checking on my pup and they kindly replied every time. They returned her all brushed and beautiful with trimmed nails (not even the vet can do that!). They took a lot of time to talk to me and ease my anxiety about leaving her which I greatly appreciated. Pup parents have the ability to choose different kinds of walks and 1:1 play times which I took advantage of. All around great experience!! If you are worried about leaving your pup, Joyful Acres puts your mind at ease. We’ll be regular customers for sure!

Very professional, informative, and honest family owned business. While my anxiety was extremely high with leaving my dog to go away, the Joyful Acres owners made me feel very comfortable with leaving my dog with them. They made me feel comfortable in calling to check on my pup and understood our anxiety. Kept their promise to return all of my calls and was very kind when doing so. This allowed for me to truly enjoy my trip. They were very upfront, friendly, and informative with helping me to make arrangements for boarding. I was especially happy to see their comfort level and capability in handling my 1 year old hyper pitbull. Their pricing was very affordable. I really enjoyed the fact that there were no hidden fees or taxes added to my initial quoted price. My dog was returned to me with no issues. Feels like he came back better then he did when I left him. He’s been so pleasant since our return. Thank you again. I would highly recommend. Signed a happy customer !

Never slept a night without our dog since we’ve got him. This Memorial Day weekend was our first time leaving him anywhere. The staff here is great. I called and asked about an update on our dog, they called back and left a great message, didn’t even need to call them back again. Our dog came home looking and smelling great. I didn’t ask for them to cut his nails, so unless it came with the exit bath then they just did it out of kindness. Either way it was nice to see his nails taken care of. Wonderful place will definitely come back

I recently boarded my dog Shadow here, who is a rescue that was seriously abused, which makes him very untrusting towards people in general. When picking up my dog, he did NOT want to leave lol which tells me he felt safe. I am beyond grateful to the ladies at Joyful Acres for taking care of Shadow and making him feel safe. I will definitely be using them for my future needs. THANK YOU!!!!

Very kind and intentional caretakers! They love your dog like you do. There are many diverse and beautiful livestock on their land that may greet you on your way in. They even have a service where they cuddle your little buddy too at night.

As a first time dog owner, I am relying on references for everything. Our friends recommended Joyful Acres, and we were SO happy with every email interaction with Jason, to the drop off of our dog where he was greeted immediately by a cheerful caretaker, to pickup where his caretaker made us feel so relieved that he was so well cared for. We called a few times while we were away, and our calls were always returned with full reports on how our dog was doing. He was there during a hurricane, and we received an email letting us know that the phone lines were out but all the pups were happy and fine. We signed our dog up for playtime and snuggles every day, and a trail walk every other day. We also signed him up for an exit bath. He was SO happy when we picked him up, not lethargic or tired at all...and he was just SO happy! I highly recommend Joyful Acres!!

I have only great things to say about Joyful Acres! This was our first experience boarding a pet, and we were unsure of what to expect. They took amazing care of our dog, updated us on how she was doing, administered medication she was on at no extra cost! We are very very happy with the experience and will be using them again! The add on bath on the day of pick up is an amazing deal, and our Rosie has never been cleaner! So bonus!!!

The man I talked to when making my dog Sandy's boarding reservation was extremely nice and answered all my questions, he was very patient and I felt a lot better about leaving her for the first time after our conversation. When my fiance dropped her off the staff was also very nice and caring. This morning we picked her up and she was as happy as could be. Would recommend Joyful Acres in a heartbeat!

This was my first time boarding my dog since we adopted him and I was nervous that we were going out of state that he might think we weren't coming back. But he was all wagging tails walking in and didn't look back and came back out the same way just like a confident Kindergartner. We opted for the bath and nails while he was there and he came out smelling, looking, and feeling great. The staff was super helpful and the price quoted was the exact price charged. We will be using them again if we ever need to kennel him again with the peace of mind that he will be safe and happy.

Worst experience we’ve had. Dropped off both of our dogs for 2 days. Separated our dogs without our knowledge and then charged us double for boarding the dogs separately(our dogs are always together and practically inseparable). Broke our dogs bowl and then put the bowl back in our bag without saying a word. When we finally pick up our dogs, both were soaking wet and smelled like urine. Not sure if our dogs were ever let outside. Very unprofessional and would not recommend anybody take their dogs here.

Really nice place to bring your dog. My dog always looks great when we pick her up. They are very pleasant to deal with as well and I find the prices to be reasonable. The facility and grounds are really nice and your dog gets a little inside and outside area to hang out in. Grooming on site is also reasonable. Have been using them for many years and have been very satisfied.

The staff at joyful acres puts alot of effort into making sure your dogs are comfortable and well taken care of. Never had any issues with boarding at this facility. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Joyful Acres! We have an eight year old herder/terrier mix we rescued that has fear aggression. The owners are so understanding and worked with us to ensure our dog (and the staff) were safe. We have boarded our dog three times at Joyful Acres and have had a fantastic experience every time. Their location is in an area that has spotty internet/phones so you may have to leave a messgae or send an email. Tip - bring a kong and jar of peanut butter with you & the staff will give it to your dog as often as you like :)

I have two large dogs, Jake and Molly, who have had several week long stays at Joyful Acres. It is very clear the owners and staff are “dog people” and care a great deal for their guests. Jake and Molly come home happy and have no issue going there. Top notch kennel!

Our dog Troy stayed for a week, while we were on vacation. This was the first time ever in a kennel, he is five years old. We called to check in on him and they always called back, we were so upset about leaving him. When we picked him up he was in good health and looking good. I would use them again. They took good care of my baby.

Over using several boarding kennels over the years...within this last year been boarding my pack of 5 with Joyful Acres and have found them to be a Top Notch kennel...State of the art facility...is it pricieryes, but you get what you pay for...top notch kennel

Owners were nice. I recommend giving your dog a bath when you leave or have them bath your pet. Seeing their farm animals happy was a plus.
