Today's experience at my usual go-to place was terrible. After dropping my buddy off at 7:30 am for a teeth cleaning, Dr. Martinez called at 12 pm to say they were about to start – my dog had already been in their care for 4.5 hours! He hadn't eaten or drunk anything since 10 pm the day before, and they claimed it was normal. I wonder how many dogs were ahead of mine when I dropped him off at 7:30 am. Pick up was at 4 pm, they called me to pick him up at 4:10 like are you serious it’s only been 10 minutes passed and I’m around the corner. To make matters worse, Dr. Martinez didn't even come out to speak to me. Being locked up for 8.5 hours without eating or drinking and not eating for about 16 hours is unacceptable. I won't be returning to this place; I'll look elsewhere.Dr. Martinez, how would you feel if we were to lock you up in a cage for 8.5 hours, administer anesthesia, and deprive you of food or water? !

Very disappointed on the side of calling to make an appointment for my dog when they aske you if it’s emergency or not they put you on hold for an hour and don’t have the decency to get back to you. And when you hang up and call them back same routine they put you on hold and never gets back to you. Needs to trained your staff for better customer service …

I've been going here for a while now. My cat has the optimal wellness plan. Nothing was alarming until today. I dropped my cat off at 7:15am. That's EARLY for a drop off, okay but that's besides the point. He was scheduled for a dental cleaning and comprehensive exam. IT WASN'T UNTIL 2PM when I CALLED THEM to check on him and see how he did on the anesthesia, when they told me they were unable to do the dental exam. !!!!!! I'm sorry...... what? So you're telling me...he was chillin in a metal box for 7 hours when he didn't need too and I could have picked him up HOURS AGO??? I said "when was anyone going to call me ?" & if you knew he wouldn't be able to get the dental procedure, I should have been notified SOONER. [ACTUALLY. Since you guys have been treating my cat for years, you shouldn't have actually let me make the appointment due to your protocol if the right questions were asked at the time of booking.] anyways. Went to go pick him up. I asked the doctor when he knew he couldn't do the dental exam and he said "10:00am". So basically Sir , you're admitting YOU FORGOT ABOUT MY CAT FOR 4 hours ?!? Because you got busy with all the other patients ? Ok ok I get it. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm not angry he didn't get the dental exam. I appreciate them NOT doing it if it was best for my cat. But I am angry no one called me to inform me. I'm angry they didn't let me pick him up hours ago and the lil cat had to sit there for hours. Who the F knows when I would have found out if I didn't make the inquiring call. So yeah. GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR ANIMAL TO BE FORGOTTEN ABOUT !!!!! Xoxoxoxox linds

I was hesitant to bring my puppy to this location for her spay due to all of the mixed reviews, but none of the other Banfield locations that I contacted had any other available appointments. That being said, we had a wonderful experience there! The new(?) receptionist was very courteous and helpful (she said it was her first week there, I guessing the other receptionist that everyone was complaining about either wasn’t on shift or was let go), and Dr. Tara was SO, so sweet to my anxious puppy and helpful in instructing us on how to take care of her after the surgery, and even stayed a little bit past closing time to get us the relevant information. We probably won’t come here regularly as this location is a little bit far, but would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to make an appointment!

Dr. Christopher Nardi made us feel great about his knowledge and compassion for our son (DOG Bruno). He was able to answer all our questions with detail and facts! Dr Nardi was very caring and helpful with our son and we couldn't be happier! I saw other reviews, my apologies but I do not tenebrous the names other than Dr Nardi that helped us but they were very helpful!

The front desk was extremely poor. The person there wasn't even bothering to do much and totally ignored me standing in line. Drove 30 minutes just to find out my dog couldn't get the vaccine

Banfield pet hospital located in Petsmart off off of route 22 in Scotch Plains has a great staff. Very caring and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Check out their pet insurance as well. 🐕 🐈⬛🐩😁 #Louie🐕

My dog was very sick, and weak.. after dropping her off and receiving her I was well informed she has diabetes and was given prescription medicine and dog food for her which has helped a lot.The doctor and the staff were very informative and helpful to me and my dog. I have 0 complaints with the staff. Thank you for helping my dog as best as possible.

Pet saw Dr. Rovel Mark Custodio Martinez in what was supposed to be a regular exam as booked through their website. Informed when we arrived it's drop off only. Tech was polite and patient while we decided to trust a new facility not to have unprofessional behavior behind closed doors. There seems to be no reason for it other than convenience for the staff as the doctor then immediately came right up uncomfortably close to us without a mask on and wanted to shake our hands. Vaccines were given and when we asked the doctor whether they give modified live or killed the doctor assured us it was the safer live vaccine. He lied. Paper work and a call to the office confirms killed virus was administered. Paperwork states an abnormality was found with our pet's foot. Nothing was said about that during the conversation with the doctor. I'm disappointed in the quality of service by the vet. Unprofessional in their lack of knowledge of substances they inject into our pets and disinterest in discussing the issues found during an exam we were barred from attending and then never shared with us.

Wonderful vets, techs, and office staff. We have been taking both cats and dogs here for years, and the service has only gotten better. The vets take the time to explain things thoroughly and will answer any questions you have. They genuinely care about each patient and their owners, and went above and beyond when we went in for emergency euthanasia. The staff stayed past closing time and gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye and ask questions, and offered grief support afterwards. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone here, you can really tell that they care about both the animals and the people that come in.

awful customer experience that my family and I had. First we had a drop off appointment which indicated 10 AM- 12 PM and we arrived there at 11:45 and were advised that there was an error with the information given to us as the drop off should have been 11AM clearly not an error on our behalf. Soon after we were told that we needed to make some changes to the account as the account was made under my sisters name in which she’s not over 18 so we understood and said okay then we can make the changes I advised if it’s possible to make it easier as I already have a Banfield account to just add her to my account. The receptionist asked for a second to get another colleague, two young ladies came out who really need customer service skills, they were frustrated about the situation and said “there’s too much going on this will take more than half an hour to correct so you’re not going to be able to drop off your pet today”. The message was not received gracefully as we were being told these news with an attitude so there was a discussion to understand why if it’s not our fault that someone told us we can drop off by 12, anyway long story short we booked another appointment and I asked the young lady for her name, she said Breonna. To be very honest I asked because I was dissatisfied with the service she provided but I didn’t loose my temper or speak at her rudely, I asked her politely but I’m sure she knew what was my intention so as I said thank you she said “have a nice day buck teeth”

I requested an in-room appointment vs the drop off appointment they offer (they offer both), upon reaching and AFTER completing all the paperwork.. they informed me the in-room appointment means I am allowed to wait in the lobby while they take my fur-babies inside ALONE... I had two appointments booked in advance, requested to see the VET and the vet just "walked into" another surgery.Found the whole process very shady and misguided.Please clarify what your "in-room policies" are BEFORE booking an appointment and not once you have wasted an hour for someone.

MY WORST EXPERIENCE IN THIS LOCATION, THESE PEOPLE WILL TREAT YOU WITH RUDENESS, THEY APPROACH YOU WITH AN A R R O G A N T ATTITUDE, THEY DO NOT KEEP THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS AND THEY LIED TO YOUR OWN FACE EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS THE PROOF OF THEIR MISTAKES. ON TOP OF ALL THEY WILL YELL AT YOU, INSULT YOU AS THEY DID WITH ME AND MY DAUGHTER, AH! BESIDES THERE’S NO MANAGER TO WHOM YOU CAN COMPLAINT THE MISTREATMENT OF THESE WOMEN OF LOW CLASS & EDUCATION. STAY AWAY. 1 STAR? NO WAY, THEY DESERVE LESS THAN 0 STARS ( - 0)

Great experience, it located inside of pets smart. Each time you walk into pet smart the cashier or an employee greats you and your pet. I have to go to Banfield pet hospital quite frequently to my puppy has to get all of his shot. Each time my experience has been quick, the nurse takes the time to explain and see if there are any questions. I cone to Watchung and pass too other banfield because to reach this location due to the customer service.

The Banfield pet hospital in Watchung pet smart was so great to me & my puppy today. I was panicking because she had blood in her urinate and I know she must’ve been in pain. I called & spoke to Diane at the front desk who was comforting & wonderful and told me to bring her right in. The doctor saw her right away and treated her as if she was her own dog. They allowed me to use the coupon on my phone to help offset the price and gave me her medicine to make her feel better right away. Everyone was phenomenal and put my mind at ease. I highly recommend them!!!!

This specific location has never gave me any issues with my last 4 pets! HOWEVER.... with my current pet they signed me up for the basic plan after I specifically asked and said my make dog would be neutered. I even MADE AN appointment for this service just to be called and told it is not a part of my package! When asked to speak to a manager I was informed THEY HAVE NO MANAGER UNTIL SOMETIME IN JUNE! Customer service had me reach out back to the store and yet they only offered to charge me almost $80 a month to include his neuter when it was supped to be $55 monthly! So un professional I will not be renewing a contract or bringing any future pets here!!!!

I will never bring my dog to this facility again Rt 22 in Watchung location, Im not going to get into the particulars but what I will say is. When a customer is given mis or conflicting information from the facility (Banfield Hospital) every step should be taken to accommodate the customer to prevent any issues or hardships on the customer's part. I contacted another facility and was accommodated immediately. The reason I gave One Star is because I cannot post my review without giving a rating

I am highly disappointed in Ana at Banfield. I have to question does she work by herself? Because she puts you on hold and never comes back on the line. I called 6 times today to make an appointment and she wouldn’t let me two words in. I made a last attempt at 4:45 she picked up told me to hold and then hung up on me. I called right back and the phone system was already shut down at 4:48pm stating they were closed. How is that possible when they close at 5:00pm. What a disgrace. I also tried pet smart and Andrea the manager was rude and dismissive and told me to deal with banfield. How do they still have business?

If I could give zero stars I would. I dropped off my dog at 10:30 AM to get x-rays and heard nothing from them all day, I called multiple times with no answer so I drove 30 minutes to get my dog. As I’m on my way at 5:30 PM the doctor called me and said that she’s just looking at her now. I told her not to bother because they closed in 30 minutes and there was a high possibility that she would have to be sedated. I am completely dumbfounded by the experience that I had and will never bring my dog back here ever again.
