Either staff the registers or reopen the self checkout. Every time I come in I’m waiting 10-20 minutes because there is not a single employee out on the floor in any isles or at the register. Not even a help button or bell or anything.

This is always a great place to shop! Fantastic products and friendly employees who are constantly making sure you're finding what you need. They've been undergoing a big remodel and I'm so excited to see what they've done! I've been told that there will be a much larger fresh and frozen food section and new registers as well! Can't wait to go in tomorrow when they reopen!

I enjoyed shopping in Dollar General but since they went self scan the employees were very helpful up to now. I made a quick stop this morning and your employee Tammy was by the register and I asked her to checkMe out and she told me I had to use the self scan. Needless to say I left what I was going to purchase at the register and walked out. There are still stores that have cashiers. I don’t need dollar generalNot to mention I did some price comparison this morning and most food and drinks are more expensive the. The Shoprite across the streetMy visit today was very disappointing

Terrible experience I will literally travel hours away to go to any other dollar general instead of this one. The gray haired woman who was working at 11:58 am on August 24 2023 was so beyond nasty and unhelpful had a terrible mean attitude and mean scowl on her face the entire time I saw her. Get better employees. Ridiculous. I asked one small easy question about the register and was treated horribly. Never again.

Other then the fact they can't keep help its nice to see they updated the store and the computer systems just wish they would upgrade there internet off dsl speed and also employees should not park in front of store

This is my local Dollar General, I go here ATLEAST once a week. The workers are friendly, but honestly they're NEVER open. Companies wonder why stores are closing and this is why. In the past month I've showed up at the store ATLEAST 3 times with the open sign on and during open hours and they tell me they're closing or are closed but meanwhile other people are inside or walking in. Are you closing for the day already truly THIS early or are you being prejudice to who you want in your store?? At this rate you'll be the next dollar store in Washington with closed doors.

I will give this place a 2-star rating due to the fact that I didn't hate it I just disliked it. Not because of it being a quote on quote Dollar Store but due to the place being a little dirty. Meaning the floors. It looked like a muddy rugby team ran all over the floors. And it wasn't even raining that day. I almost slipped on a wet floor and there was no wet floor sign in sight. Also the staff here was not the friendliest I've ever met. They kind of had a chip on their shoulder and attitude to their voice. And they didn't have exactly what I was looking for. They had everything else but the item that I was actually seeking that I have gotten from other dollar stores. Honestly maybe it was just the day or maybe it was just the certain members of the staff that was working that day that didn't feel like doing their job but I will give this place another shot and I will show up again and maybe I can change the 2 star rating to a higher star rating. But at this point the two star stands.

The clerks are very nice and friendly. I think the store would benefit if it had a 3 man crew instead of 2. Whomever handles the clothing bin needs to come by more often to clean it out. Not a good look for the store.

I'm sure I forgot one bag of items I bought yesterday but when I went back to ask, the lady who was on the counter didn't even bother to look. She simply told me at she wasn't told, maybe i was at a wrong store, and they didn't have a Male working the counter yesterday Saturday December 15. The guy whom she wasn't working even gave me change of quarters when I requested him so I had a longer conversation with him than normal. Lady I wasn't crazy or you had to do is check around and ask me to prove the things I was missing.

Always a good stop for variety of needs..card selection, variety of frozen and refrigerated foods!, and staples. Good quick run in without hassle of Shoprite crowds and lines!For Covid, has become a reg stop to shop. No crowds, get wanted items, and get out in timely fashion!I always get what I want and need! Quick, done!

Well let me just say, I'm in love with the lower prices on my Scott's paper towels and toilet tissue @Dollar General. I went back to this store to get these two items today before you won't be able to find anymore again for the second time around. So, now I'm good I have my backup. I'm covered on this end. Now when the craziness happens again, finding some fresh chicken to cook will be another story. Real talk💯

Great for a quick trip to get the "basics" for reasonable prices. It's also a great place to take time to find great deals on things you didn't know you wanted. With a wide assortment of items, including seasonal decorations and such, it's a great place to make regular visits to.

This is not a dollar store where everything is a dollar. It's a reasonably priced thrift store. Not as dissarrayed as other dollar type stores.Dollar General is fairly organized, clean environment, good selection of varied items -- more so than Family Dollar. But not as big & clean as the Dollar Trees (which is a dollar store). Except for the one in Hackettstown which is often a mess.Dollar General can sometimes be slow at checkout as the cashier can be stocking shelves or helping people. Not sure if that is their routine or they were short help that day. Staff is often helpful, courteous & friendly.I would give it 2-1/2 stars if I could.

There are not enough staff on that place.The line was already around five people waiting.I had to around and find the guy( cashier in charge)So sad, the young guy hate what he does. He snatched the money and threw my change. He should find something else if he isn’t happy. That’s very sad.

Every time I come in this place I have a problem the last time II came in they forgot to hand me my bag this time I came in and they couldn't even cash a $100 bill in the afternoon on a Saturday around 2 o'clock. However upon contacting corporate a nice lady named Krista called me back and made it better for me by making me feel special and offering me a gift certificate

The workers are very busy working on the floor doing stock but when your ready to check out they greet you with a smile.i bought my grand son socks and pjs.air fresheners dry erase boards,stapler,coffee.

Female employee always on the phone, store manager never helpful. Over hear ignorant conversations between them talking about customers badly. Wouldn't be so bad, if they fired the trash that works there and got new employees. Store is always a mess, and bathrooms are never cleaned.

I shop there all the time! Good prices and love the dg app. Love saving with coupons. Just wish the employees were nicer, happier. They always seem upset or complaing about something aloud. Never say hello when entering store or when passing in aisle. A new girl though is very nice. We may come for deals but also like to feel welcomed. This Washington store is very small compared to the others Ive gone too. Hackettstown people are very welcoming and ask if they can help you. Not Washington. Hope they become happy to have a job as people like me disabed arent as lucky. Thanks for reading. Still love the store :)

Store has alot.of good stuff and prices.. BUT... My fiance Had her Credit Card info stolen at this store... used in Texas.. Police would not help.. BE CAREFUL.. Monitor your account if you use Credit Cards.. got money back but took 34 months.. SMH !! No one at store knew anything.. shocking.. Buyer beware !!

The store was clean, associates were friendly and helpful. I am not sure I exepcted more than i recieved. I do, however, find them to be quite costly for most items. The prices for the majority of the items are the same as.what can be found at walmart or target. Their generic drug prices are more expensive than walmart. Generic Mucinex is 8 at walmart and 9 at Dollar general.

They have a very big selection of greeting cards at very reasonable prices. They also have a large selection of gift cards so i was able to get everything i needed in 1 place.

They have dish liquid, laundry detergent but it is priced a little high disinfectants are also on the shelves; some of the fall items are starting to come in and halloweencostumes
