As a little girl, about 55 years ago, we would get Italian food he when visiting my grandmother in Maplewood. The business is still in the family and still amazing. I live in California and cove for a visit every 6 months now. My family is sure to bring me here every time so I can have the Italian hot dogs. Can't find anything like them in CA. The owner, who knows my family from the frequent visits, is a really nice man and a fun personality. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Cash only. There is always plenty of parking, the pizza is fresh and Joe's has been my "quick" stop when I have a pizza craving I had the Sicilian slice extra hot and last time it was a pie to go. The dough, sauce and cheese blended perfectly.Parking: Parking spaces in front of the door and along the front windows

haven’t even left the restaurant yet. haven’t even finished my pizza and i had to stop and leave a review.haven’t had pizza like this in a long time. cheesy but crunchy but doughy. very impressed.the owner joe was mopping the floor and i had to stop him to tell him he’s a genius.apparently they’ve been here 70 years and it was his grandpa Joe who is the genius. very nice guy. refreshing to see bosses in the store. will absolutely be back.there were also people sitting with bottles of wine. can’t wait to come back for dinner.blown away.

Can't believe that I have been going here for years and never wrote a review about the place. Sorry Joe😊 I'm in love with their pizza!! Very unique compared to all others in the area. Their crust, sauce and cheese combo is a winner, hands down. The other food they serve is very good as well, so you can't go wrong. Go get you some!

I brought my pizza tour to Joe’s Famous Pizza today. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and very well taken care of. The pizza was as good as advertised, flaky crust with plenty of fresh grated mozzarella cheese to the edges. The shrimp and Garlic pie was a great compliment to the plain pies we ordered. A very unique pizza experience, we will be back. You gotta check this place out!

This place is a reminder of what I love most about New Jersey, after a frustrating day at work I wanted to grab a quick bite. Walked in and the woman up front was beyond nice and accommodating so I decided to dine in. The pizza is perfect, the right about of cheese sauce with a nice crispy crust that folds perfectly every time! There were other families sitting and eating some with wine. I can’t wait to visit again, feels like home, thank you!

Wow This Is #Jersey Gem Located In The Vauxhaul Union NJ Area ! Joes Famous Pizza !!! The Pizza is A1 Top Tier pizza Dave Portnoy even rated them 7.9 I think he’s an 8.4 Solid in my book pizza is amazing Chicken Parm Sandwhich is off the meters too solid 8.1 I recommend coming here ! He’s closed on Monday’s though and it’s CASH ONLY about worth every dollar and Joe The Owner is Great Guy who has a lot of history just ask him !

Came here looking for some good pizza 🍕. We found it!! Enjoyed a plain pie and a Margherita pie with vodka sauce. This has been rated as one of the Best Pizza in the county, so of course we need to try it for the Pizza Hunters App. You don't have a Pizza Business for 72 years and not know what you are doing. While people fight for parking spots on the street, this place has a huge parking lot. The pizza speaks to you on all 3 levels. The sauce, crust and cheese are all equally great. Everything is made fresh in the front of the Pizzeria, so you can watch the entire process. The thin slice that is prepared in a pan really sets this slice apart from others. People are very nice and passionate about Pizza..The Parlor itself has a real old school feel..great on all levels. Cant wait for some of the other Pizza Hunters to try this Pizza. Grear Job Joe's.

I’ve been eating at Joe’s for 50+ years! It’s my favorite and there is no pizza restaurant that can compare. Brings back great memories of going with Dad to pick up pizza. Dad is no longer with us but Joe’s always gives me good memories of him and our pizza outings.If you like a thin crust but not necessarily a crunchy crust, a well seasoned tomato sauce and unique pizza, this is for you! There is no pizza that can compare.Very simple atmosphere. Clean. No pretenses. Order ahead for pickup or dine in. Highly recommend!🤩Parking: Near door. You don’t have to walk far.

Great pizza though it’s a specific style that isn’t for everyone. Zero crust, cheese to the edge , pan baked, with oregano sprinkled on top before it cooks. I thought it was great, my kids weren’t into it.This place is cash only and their ATM wasn’t working when I was there, so I had to leave and come back to pay for my order. Bring cash!Parking: Free parking lot.

I am going to say this pizza is probably the best pizza I have had. It's the type of pizza when you have it you are willing to make the commute because its definitely worth the trip. I happened to be driving by and I decided to stop and now this is my go too. The staff is great, the service is quick and I always take one for the road. It's a must try if you are a pizza lover.Parking: Nice size lot so never an issueKid-friendliness: It's a family type of place, the minute you start talking to Gerry you think you have known her forever.

I went there with my wife and daughter I ordered what I wanted then me and my daughter sat down.My wife stood by the counter to pay,then food came while I was eating I noticed my wife wasn't acting like her self then wen we left my wife told me joe rub her hand inappropriately while she haded the money to pay 2 times,the 1st time my wife taught it was by accident but it happened again when she got the change back.It happened today I just had to get it out my chest since my wife did not tell me on the spot...Will not eat here again!

The vibe is nice and what I personally ordered was good. The chicken alfredo was flavorful and you can tell the cook paid attention to detail. Caesar salad was also good. Garlic knots tasted like old dough. The owner was a bit rude and unfortunately when we were paying I hadn’t noticed the cash only sign. PLS REMEMBER TO BRING CASH WHEN COMING HERE 😒! My total should’ve been around $20, but i paid $22.55 with no receipt given..

Outstanding people and food. Lived around here for 11 years and had never heard of them. The Pizza was second to none. Even better than Santillos. It looked so good I decided to strap them in with the seatbelt to assure a safe deliver home.

I went here with one of my friends & we got a box of pizza the owner kicked us out because we wanted to eat inside with a Togo box. Then my food was 15$ I gave the lady a 20 & she gave me 4$ back & kept a dollar for herself. The owner was so rude & disrespectful when I showed him nothing but respect. I even asked him why was he acting like that towards us and he stated “ we can take our box & leave” spend your money somewhere it’s more appreciated. The owner have 0 customers appreciation. It’s plenty of great pizza spots near by go somewhere else. RUNNNN!!!!

Don't let the atmosphere rating fool you. This place is reminiscent of the pizza parlours of the 70s and 80s! While I love that, I know that snooty people would be turned away! For those people, I say order this delicious food and eat it at your house.Hands down one of the best pizzas in the area.Staff is so nice. They really care about their food and the people and it shows.One of my only issues is the cash only payments. I would stop by more often but often do not have cash so I have to drive on by. But, when I do stop in, my pizza cravings are satisfied. It's so good my picky kid asks to go back all the time now and kids are truly honest critics.Vegetarian options: It's a pizza joint. Not vegan friendly but you can stick to the veggie toppings. Also, get a side of broccoli rabe.Parking: Plenty of spots.Kid-friendliness: Did I forget to mention the pizza parlours of the 80s. We actually saw a baseball team eating after a game! It felt like a time warp.

Pizza is ok, just seems a bit overcooked to me. I like my mozzarella to have a bit of stretch, and for my sauce to be wet. Joe’s strikes me more like an overcooked frozen pizza.I’m from Brooklyn originally, so I know pizza. This may be ok for Jersey, but it wouldn’t survive back home. Just OK.
