Stopped in to talk to them about my common pleco growing too big for my tank, left with a cute baby bristle nose and plans to rehome via Facebook/local. Nice little shop, very attentive to customers. I noticed they went from empty to 6 customers in 5 minutes all the while their power cycling on off while sorting breaker issues. My dudes were calm and so nice and took care of everyone patiently. Will be back soon!

Very nice owner the one time the shop was actually open. First time we went it was open as stated on google, owner advised us and told us to come back to pick up more fish as our tank got ready and each time we’ve come back after (3 times) it’s been closed even though the posted hours are open. Incredibly frustrating when you have clients driving in to this location on days that you told us to come and you’re not even open… poor management. Definitely finding a new spot with reliable ownership.And before you respond YES we checked hours posted at the store and google and YES we checked the Instagram page to see if they posted saying they’re closed and YES we called to see if there was any “currently closed” voicemails. Nope to all!

Great store, I came here the other day to buy some green neon tetras. I bought 6 and 2 or 3 of the green neon tetras were just regular neon tetras. The person catching them said he would try to get the green neon tetras, but it looks like the tetras were all mixed. I was charged the green neon tetras price, $2.99. When comparing to the green neon tetras I had in the tank already the new fish have a much more pronounced red belly. I could not see when they were in the bag but it is very obvious when I’m the tank. Healthy fish though.

Bought a snail, some gold tetras, plants and a big piece of drift wood from this place to build my nano tank today. All look amazing. Definitely will go to this place again, the owner is very nice, helpful, knowledgeable and honest. He even helped me save money by stopping me buying unnecessary things, which big retailers try to sell me all the time. They have a great many choices for nano tank fish, and I spent two happy hours there.

This place is full of information. Fishes here look so healthy, active and happy. Bought a Beta Fish for 5.99 and a Algae Eating Fish for about the same price on Sunday March 7, 2021.Jonathan (speaks English and Spanish) was so patient and willing to assist everyone with questions. You're going to be soooo tempted to TIP HIM, because he is AMAZING at what he does. Believe it or not, it seems many many people come here. He is full of information.The place is small but clean, there are many varieties of super interesting fishes. I also saw some sort of a spider, and even freaken SHRIMP!!! If you live/work in NY, this store is just less than 5min walk to the LAST BUS STOP that takes you directly to Port Authority/Times Square NYC, better yet, if you get lucky... the 156 that stops practically outside of this store also takes you directly to NYC (just that only one bus that passes through this street heads to NY).

Outstanding smaller shop. Went in to check it out and came out with a couple Gourami's i have never seen before. Fish much healthier than what the big box stores provide, service was excellent with knowledgeable staff, and very clean shop without needless items. If you need it, its there!! I am happy to see an actual shop in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

I have been going to this store for the past 3 months and it has a great selection of fish. They even go as far as to special order anything you might be looking for. Any questions you may have they answer and trust me I ask a lot😂 , also will help you make your tank look amazing!(pic posted of the tank he helped with) but definitely a good store to go too and to recommend!

So happy to have a shop like this near me (I'm in jersey city). And now that's it's expanded into the store next door it's even better. The best customer service you'll find at ANY fresh water fish store and I've been to them all within a 75 mile radius. The tanks and fish are so well cared for. You know the owner pours his heart and soul into this shop, and it's him giving you the advice not a bored employee. This is the perfect place for you to get started in the hobby. Or in my case, after years in the hobby, a great place to learn more every time I walk in. Keep up the great work! We are lucky to have you.

As an avid fish keeper who has visited many local and big box fish stores. It’s nice to find a location like this. Owner operator Jon is great to deal with and very accommodating. Not to mention has a personal passion for the hobby. He will keep an eye out for certain fish your in need of or place special orders for you. Nice selection of fish in stock as well. The tanks are very well maintained, all fish look and seem healthy and his store is clean, neat and organized. Will continue to deal with Jon for my fish needs.

Love having this shop so close to home! Jon's great with fish help, and it's convenient to also be able to get supplies and food for our leopard gecko half a block from home.Prices are reasonable for a local shop and you get the benefit of a knowledgeable hobbyist vs. a disengaged hourly employee.Always a great stop to bring my 5 year old and foster interest in the aquarium hobby. Great variety of fish.

This is one of the best fish store I've ever been ,too! They really know about salt and freshwater fish. I was super impressed with the knowledge and how clean the tanks are and how healthy and well fed the fish and babies are. I saw frogs, stingray,and lobster and crabs. All fish came up to me and where happy. I'm Coming back to buy my Guarani fish from here.They also sell supplies and food and equipment. I I also have a beardeddragon and they gave me a generous portion of gut loaded fatsuper worms...great customer service too. I can't wait to visit again its absolutely beautiful.

Great experience! Great little fish store! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The place is kept in nice conditions. The owner was very patient with us. We had a single gold fish before and bought a school of guppies for our son. They were great at answering all the questions we had. We will definitely be going back!

Love this place! Randomly found this spot about 7 months ago and ever since have been a devoted customer. My husband was always the one obsessed with fish but now i have gotten into it because of this place. We visit weekly just to check out the selection of fish which are amazing. Jon has patiently helped us with all our questions and provided excellent advice on care and fish grouping options. He also goes the extra mile to special order anything we need. We recently went from a 10 gallon tank with 3 fish to a 30 gallon and are up to 10 fish and 1 African dwarf frog (my favorite buddy) and they are all thriving. We also kept our 10 gallon and have a beautiful fancy black and golden telescope butterfly goldfish. I see another tank upgrade again soon.

I have had a consistently extraordinary experience at LOF2! I can’t say enough about the staff’s care, patience and genuine compassion for pet care. I was sent there on a recommendation by someone I truly trust and they certainly steered me in the right direction. I got into goldfish keeping during early quarantine and the staff has been incredibly supportive, knowledgeable and kind. They have truly shared my enthusiasm as I become slowly more savvy and have nearly held my hand along the way. Awesome store! Originally went in for gravel for plants (helps keeps flies from nesting.) Saw all the great fish and decided we’d like to start out! Staff was super knowledgeable; had a question after we left and called and got great customer service. We now have a gourami and shes slowly acclimating as are we. Will definitely be back for accessories, questions, and possibly more fish!
