Only because it's so convenient as to when I need to get what I need before I head home other than that most of the time lines are long, unprofessional, except for the gentleman that helps stock the shelves and what not he's great! Always friendly says hello as to everyone else not so much I could say Hello thank you anything and nothing said in return... other then it being convenient for me to stop there before I head home, staff has their days wish they were a little nicer and as you work in retail it's all about customer service which it lacks:-(

The staff is amazing. Always friendly and are very kind to their regulars. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they always seem to be out of one of the main things I go there for. And I know that is no one in particulars fault. But it is very frustrating. But I do love the store and most of the employees. I actually stopped in late on easter (surprised they were open regular hours), and the store was very clean. And being a regular I know how hard that is to do with all the foot traffic they get daily. The manager there is always helpful and friendly. I know this store well since I am there almost everyday. Keep up the great work.

The lines are always long... Plus they're definitely unorganized, disorganized and cashiers are like A revolving door. They're more interested in taking smoke breaks,we all know what that is. The previous crew was lot better

This Store was nice until the young manager left now it's boxes all over the floor nothing on the self's everything on the floor. No one cleans it's just a mess. Now December 13 the place look's 90% better, no more young people hanging around doing nothing, new help is putting in the work place look's so much better.

Would not return to this store, went in to purchase a few items, they were stocking shelves, and the spanish female employee, was rude and starting cursing at me. beuase i was trying to get around her as she was blocking my path. Downtown Trenton as a whole is not a safe enviroment anyway.

It was very chaotic on March 21st. A customer that was ahead of me was getting cursed at by the cashier. Customer ran out the door and cashier was so angry I thought he was going to chase him. When I got up at the register I questioned him about re-loading my paypal debit card and he told me he knew nothing about it. I felt he took his anger out on me from dealing with the other customer. He also didnt offer to call a manager to assist me. She did come up front but I had to ask her for help. She explained how to reload my paypal to the cashier.

The staff is so unprofessional. They don't want me to shop there no more. Because sometimes when I go there, the staff is really lazy and slow. So one day, I had an issue with the cashier. I had purchased my stuff and I was waiting for the cashier to give my cashback because I used my debit card. As I am waiting for the cashier to give me my money, he's having a full conversation with someone. Which was fine but he seemed to be deliberately moving very slow. I was standing there for like 3 to 5 mins for the cashier to give me my money. So I asked him to hurry up because I felt like whatever he was talking about was distracting him. So an argument broke out because he claimed he can do whatever he likes. There was a long line waiting for him to deal with the next customer. I told him he's was being unprofessional. And in front of everyone he literally says he doesn't care. The employee is a dark African American with dreads, cashier was extremely high by the way.

From the time you walk into this store till you walk out of the store...safety is important... They always says Hello and ask you for all your bags to be placed behind the register...as you shop there is always employees standing in the aisles to help you...not including the coupons you can save extra money on items when you down load onto your phone apps ......Very convenient.

I have always had good customer service at this location. The cashiers & the manager were always helpful to me. It's always crowded because it's located in downtown Trenton. I have witnessed customers curse them out, threatened to physically harm them & even throw money at them. So if u have so many issues with the store & employees, maybe u should try a different Family Dollar.

I was asked to work in the store for one day to help out, I come from South Jersey. I have been to over a dozen family dollar stores to help out. This was appalling. Customers were rude, one was so bad we had to call the police, Theft is off the charts. And generally, an unflattering place to shop. Place was an absolute mess, 15-20 people in line during the 9 hours I was there, and one customer was drinking a shot of alcohol while inside the store. And that was during 1 shift. How the hell do people work there every day? I'd be fired after 3 days.

Obviously a Dollar Store in downtown Trenton is probably expected to be lacking. This place in particular looked as though nobody worked there besides a couple shady looking guards and a cashier. The place was filthy, checkout was slow.P.S. Prepare to be asked for bus fare outside the store.

Negative stars in my opinion. This company is not about "FAMILY" at all. They don't care for the safety of their employees and customers. You think they would step up security due to the recent robbery. They need an armed guard or a police officer. A lot of dangerous people in the area. People always stealing. Being ignorant and threatening staff. There's NO reason this place needs to close at 9pm. Close at 6pm like the rest of the stores downtown.

I was never so insulted in a store. I had a cart with over $50 in merchandise and the street thug security guard accused me of trying to steal a $1.00 pack of licorice. It's a shame they can't afford real security.

I went in there specifically for a bottle brush, and the only ones they had were in a set for 6$ or 10$.. N as I don't need anything else in the set it seemed ridiculous to spend that much..Usually though I find what I need without problem

I like family dollar but one downtown is usually not stocked n I see the carts in aisles full of boxed merchandise, but no one working on it. N always one person up front. But I like the prices for certain things, but one on State St. They need to hire ppl.

It's not that I hate the place, it's just that this location is very busy and they only have one register open making the lines and wait time long. Most times the manager is present. They have rude and unprofessional staff working and there recovery of the store is horrible - store always looks a mess

Prices are good. Staff and management are awful, especially management. The staff can speak to you anyway, management does not care and is usually present and they do nothing. One cashier, usually it's the new person alone. Prices are good and it's close to home

They need more cashiers the line can get long and there's not enough cashiers to get the customers out the store quicker! The sad part is I heard an employee say "we know it's going to be like this when we get here so why complain" which means to me they're not looking forward to making improvements, so just settle and that's not good for business.

The manager is a complete moron, rude, has an attitude, is incompetent, can't work a register, and is the most ignorant man I ever met. I will never shop at the 117 E. State St.Trenton,NJ 08608 Location again. I wouldn't even give it one star exept for the fact it's the only way I could post this. In I give it negative five stars.

I frequently shop here. They actually a surprisingly​cheap selection of furniture and make-up. I constantly go here for household items like clothes hangers, wall art, kitchen stuff, and make-up.

Nice place. Has most items that you'd need in a pinch. Grocery items, toilet paper, seasonal decorations, etc. Prices are modest too.
