Please do yourself a favor and never go here for your pets grooming needs. This was my first time going there to get my dog a bath and his nails clipped (very simple no scissors or buzzers required) and he came out with this huge gash on his head. When I asked what happened the groomer, Kristen Fitz Patrick told me he ran into the cage, but when I got home and called the manager, they told me nothing happened to my dog, and there was no gash on his head leaving the store calling me a liar. The manager Samantha laski was the women I spoke to and was very rude and said there was nothing they can do to help me. I just want to know what happened to my dog. Accidents happen of course but the covering it up and saying nothing happened now all of a sudden is insane. I hope Human Resources and the police will figure out what happened to my poor baby.

Been going to Toms River Petco for 10 years for all my dogs grooming need. Kass is amazing, she can even calm an edgey dog. Recommended Sam Laski for training which was awesome. Sam is now a manager and gives us incredible customer service.My pittie boy loves them and they love him like their own! You can’t find better people!

My Customer Service rep. was outstanding, but I was remiss in getting his name. He was patient and very knowledgeable about all of the fish and their habits and requirements. I would love to heap more praise on him for his help, and feel terrible that I do not remember his name, but perhaps it appears on my receipt when he rung me up!

I've been buying my cat food at Petco for a few months now. I'm sure you could check the records and every time I come in the matter who's at. The register is oh. He is always kind and courteous. And I get an example of that by being an in line watching how they treat others and myself. When I get up to the register they're never in a rush. They talk about their animals. You could show them a pictoverall. I've been chewing my visits to pick up. I am a cat person, but I talk to the parakeets too.

I recently purchased a live Glowlight Tetra`s and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The fish are healthy and active, with beautiful colors that bring life to my aquarium. It's a joy to watch them swim and explore its new environment. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend getting a live fish to anyone who loves pets and aquatic life.

My new baby boy's favorite place to be! He knows to keep his eye on his family when they walk away from the cart BECAUSE that means they are getting something for him😅!The staff there is wonderful and always available to help you and the store is always very well kept!

Sorry for the long post. Do not buy fish here!!! I made the mistake because I wanted a specific fish, and I couldn't find them anywhere else except on line. The night before I happened to stop by and saw many bags floating in the tanks.New order came in, great! I asked someone when they would be releasing the fish into the tanks. They told me in about 3 hours! Why would you keep fish in the bag floating for over three hours! Many of the bags had dead fish floating in them. I jokingly asked if I could buy some from the bag snd they said I would have to buy the whole bag!It was not busy at all in the department. In fact I was the only one in there. I came back the next day to purchase the fish. I should have known better, but again I really wanted that fish. By the next day they started getting sick and dying. They all developed epistylis. What a mess I now had to deal with in my tank! The Petco fish were the only fish that ended up dying. The rest of my fish are still alive and doing great. I learned a hard lesson to always quarantine and never buy fish from here again. All big box stores care about is selling with no care for the fish. Get them in and sell. No quarantining on their part. Never again!

Seems to be a very clean place, and the people seem to be very knowledgeable about their reptiles, fish and so forth that they sell. If you're looking for items for your pet or would like to purchase something I guess this is a good place to go.

Her dedication to his training and helping him adjust to grooming has been invaluable. She goes above and beyond, offering advice on food choices and treats, understanding his pickiness. I am endlessly thankful for her exceptional care and expertise!

I know this is going to sound like I'm overreacting, but we drive up from Barnegat to come here. There is a much more pleasant energy here than in other pet stores- staff and customers and for leggers. Julie is our favorite, but all have been enjoyable!

I went into Petco today in toms river. I'm 8 months pregnant and I had to pick up dog food. The dog food was 40lbs. As I walked in I asked an associate to help me with the bag. He was like I guess. At that point I just said only if you want to and continued to say forget it I'll get it myself. He turned away and went back putting the toys away. His body language and attitude was so off putting I was so upset. I continued to tell another associate about how rude he was she just replied "ok" and ignored me. I get to the register and tell the woman who checked me out what happened after she asked me how my day was. At least she was sincere and offered to help me out to my car. I've been going to that Petco for years and never ever had that bad of an experience. I don't know if it's the holiday help but the next time I go in there and the same people are there I'm not going in there anymore.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went here for a couple of snails and a small fish for a 20 gallon tank. No employees were there and when the cashier called for service TWICE nobody came out to help me. Rude employees DO NOT RECOMMEND.

My pitty Luna has been going to petco since she was three months old. She was trained in puppy & adult level classes by Sam, and i wouldn't trust luna with anyone else but her. Luna is always looking forward to seeing Sam & the other petco employees when go there to shop!!!

Went to this store today to pick up a few items. Was horrified to see 3 medium sized guinea pigs in a small tank. Those poor animals!! You can do better!! Next stop was the Petsmart. Their setups are larger! Why can't Petco have the same?

So last February I came home with 2 golden retrievers. The cashier (who I will not name) was super nice about helping me with leashes and harnesses for my pups and said if I ever have any issues with the harness or if I need help they can always help me out. So fast forward to this morning, I brought my male in because he’s getting so big and I was scared that his harness wasn’t comfortable on him and some parts were too tight and some looked really big. So I figured I’d take him to Petco because they are always so sweet there as I am a regular customer. I noticed it was the same lady that had helped me when I first got my pups their accessories and instantly went over to her. Mind you, the store was practically empty, there was no line, and she was standing behind the register, so I instantly went to her. I had asked her if she could help me with his harness, and I get a snobby attitude and she says “yeah I don’t feel like doing that”. I was shocked and taken back because I’ve never been treated that way. Ever. Especially since I’ve been coming here for over a year. Well looks like I’ll be shopping for my accessories and food for my pups else where because I will not be treated like this. This Petco has truly disappointed me. Do not come here! If I could give a negative review I would.

I have a question, how does spray cleaner and paper towels kill Parvo. I was there when a young dog has a watery stool accident, it's owner got the available brown towels and spray and wiped it up. Then they moved on....5 minutes later another puppy comes along sniffing up that same area....?????.....I assure you the spray was not bleach...I would not now or ever bring my beloved pets into a place with such lax protocol. I left for fear of what I might track home on my sneakers....PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABIES HERE!!!!!!

Staff is a bit young and hard to talk to. It's a bit of a generation gap. They bathed my Husky and had my other dog a groomed. I was disappointed because we went over it throughly. She had me pick out the length on a hair chart, but ended up cutting her down to the skin pretty much.

Our fish died that we purchased yesterday. The cashier failed to inform us that we couldn’t purchase another unless we had a tank water sample. I left with my 6 year old in tears because he couldn’t get another fish. Not the most heartfelt or sincere experience or employee.

Need products for dog and cat. Called the store and they had what I needed and was able to put them to the side for me. Was in and out. Also walked out with this little guy. Never seen a dragon scale betta. Excited to add him to our family of fish 😊

I am actually new to the Petco brand. My paralyzed 12 year old dog, Chloe, and new puppy, Charlie, love their brands of treats, foods, and other essentials. I honestly do not have any complaints. I decided to do training with my new puppy. Our trainer, Sam, has been amazing. Charlie is doing so well and I can honestly say that Sam’s way of training is like no other. She’s so positive and she truly cares about the dogs in her class. It feels like a one on one when there’s others in the room. Her knowledge and explanations on how I should train at home to be consistent with what she’s demonstrated and he’s learned in class has been so helpful. Highly recommend Petco and especially this location with Sam for training.
