This place is terrible, stay away from these people. I dropped off my dog at 1pm and waited for the call to him him up. Nothing after 5 hours. Then I went there at 6:30pm and he was still not ready. Unacceptable treatment of customers. Also they did a lousy job, he still had longer hair on his abdomen. I am never going to use their service again. What makes them think they can treat customers this way is beyond me. I believe it was discrimination because I am not from here and have accent and they prioritize clients who are without accent. I cannot think of any other reason. Terrible all around. Shame on you

We love the owner, she always gives a great cut to our dog. Getting an appointment over the phone might sometimes be challenging as the owner might not always return your messages. If you can stop at a shop to make an appointment, do it!

TERRIBLE. NEVER TAKING MY DOG HERE AGAIN. DOG TRAUMATIZED AND INJURED. ABUSIVE OWNER. DO NOT GO HERE.This place was recommended to me by a friend. I took my puppy there, when he was only about 7 months old. He couldn’t see because his hair was too long, and he just needed a trim. The woman seemed nice enough. When we came to pick my dog up, he stunk of cologne and he was very stiff and wasn’t his happy and energetic self. Later that day, he wouldn’t sleep and barked through the night, which he’s never really done before. Then when we checked on him, he needed to go to the bathroom, and (forgive my bluntness) his feces was full of blood. I called the dog groomer who denied that she had fed him anything and seemed nervous and defensive. For the next day, he was painfully bleeding and he was so timid, he was in a lot of pain and wouldn’t move. Later we took him to our vet (Murray Hill Vet in New Providence, which I highly recommend.) and found out that his stomach infection was very rare and trauma induced. We treated him and took good care of him, and through a very hard week for him and my family, we got him back to health. Recently, he needed a trim again, and we tried a new student school groomer in Chatham, due to his awful experience at this one. The women was very kind to our dog. When we went to pick him up, she said that he was so terrified of her and her tools that she wasn’t able to do anything, which is unlike him because he usually is very brave and so he must have been really traumatized by his first experience. She used the session to gain his trust so that we can bring him in another day. After building up his trust for a few weeks, he is no longer scared and let’s her trim and groom him as needed. To this day I don’t know what happened to him at this groomers, but he must have been really abused. Please protect your dogs and do not go here. I am deeply upset and disturbed by this business.

My dog loves getting his hair cut there. My dog is a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu mix, which means that he does not shed his hair, so he needs frequent hair cuts.The owner is attentive to any special requests you may have. You need to call ahead to set up an appointment. Saturdays are the busiest days of the week.Note that the owner often gives optimistic time estimates when your pet will be ready for pickup. I usually bring my dog there around 10am on Saturday and the owner calls me to pick him up around 3pm.

My daughter and I have taken our dogs to be groomed at Happy Tails every month for 10 years. They are always excited to see Anna. She is very patient with our yappy dogs ( all terriers) and does a wonderful job grooming them. We make our appointments in six month increments but can easily make changes by texting Anna. We highly recommend Happy Tails!

I am very pleased with my experience at Happy Tails. I was referred there by a friend, as I have two mini schnauzers who are very difficult and I needed a groomer who was up to the task. One dog is blind and very scared/nippy, and the other dog was abused before we adopted him and has a tendency to bite when you touch his feet or any area where his hair is matted (which has been a problem for us since we rescued him). Unlike other dogs I have had, I was unable to keep up on the grooming myself because both dogs' behavior is so difficult when grooming. Both had spots of matted hair and areas that were almost impossible for me to get to without help.The owner, Marcella, took on the challenge yesterday and she worked so hard on these dogs for me...she did an amazing job. I know it was really difficult, and I appreciate her dedication and commitment to do it well. Most groomers would not have taken on such hard cases. But she did, and now we have the ability to go to her every 6 weeks and never have the matting and other issues we had before.I was also very concerned about how the dogs would be treated at any groomer because of their fears....but Marcella obviously treated them with respect and care because they are very happy dogs today!Such a great find...I recommend Happy Tails highly!

Owner had no idea how to cut my dog and was EXTREMELY unpleasant. Instead of calling me when my dog was ready, she sat around and waited for me to pick him up, as though I knew exactly when he would be done. When she finally contacted me, she rudely asked me where I was and told me that she had to leave in 10 minutes to go do something, so I had to jump into my car and race down there. Luckily I got there right before I received her text, wherein she told me that she was going to leave and I could pick up my dog later when she got back. Upon entering the shop, she began to tell me how rude and “not nice” I was for making her wait, because she had a commitment at 3 and it was my fault that she was missing it. She was extremely EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional towards me. I will not go back. I even wanted to leave without paying her. I have never experienced that level of rudeness and unprofessionalism in my entire life. If you’d like to get your dog groomed by people who are pleasant, kind, and actually care about dogs and dog grooming, I highly suggest you take your dog quite literally anywhere else. As if the obscene customer service and beyond disrespectful owner weren’t enough, my dog also received a terrible cut. His head is uneven and looks like someone took a hack saw to it bevaus the hair is crooked and his tail is a complete mess. I am beyond disappointed with this groomer—words cannot begin to describe it—and will never return, and I will tell anyone who asks to go ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

I wish I had read her reviews before I took my little dog there. I bough in a healthy pupp, one that I got back could hardly walk, was falling over and crying. At first I though he was unhappy about his hair cut, which I was unhappy with as well, but after a night of crying I took him to the vet. He was diagnosed with two dislocated knee caps. Patellar luxation is a genetic issue with Pomeranian, but it doesn't happen in three hours. I can't prove anything, but it is not hard to put the results together.When I spoke to the owner, she said nothing happened and became defensive. I didn't accuse her, I simply asked if anything happened. Her replies were "I never leave dogs alone. Why are you coming to me now and not on that day? I saw him walk, he was fine." She had a hard time making eye contact. I walked out and said no more.There were two dogs left alone as she spoke to me and she saw my dog walk 5 feet from my arms to the door. If she had shown an ounce of concern I would have believed her.As a result I am looking at a $3000 surgery and one medicated and miserable pup. My heart breaks when I see him suffer. He can hardly walk, he falls over when he tries to go to the bathroom. If he runs, he is in pain and crying after.If you care for your dog DO NOT take them here. Spend a little more and go to a place that cares and is hones.

Les cuento viajo a 35 min de mi casa porque tratan mi perrito con cariño lo dejan super lindo ,en otra ocacion por la lejanía mi esposo lo llevo a un dog groomer cercano y me lo cortaron en el lomo , me dieron quejas de el , pero creo q los perritos sienten la energia de las personas , porq con este dog groomer y su personal el se queda feliz ,ya lo e llevado varias veces y no me importa viajar hasta ahí con tal de q el se vea bello y este feliz pero sobre todo q mi familia y yo estemos tranquilos de q no lo maltratan , estas muchachas son unas artistas en su trabajo excelente las felicito.....
