You know you’re in the ghetto when you’re being asked to show receipt. The place wasn’t bad. I did notice that one of the cashiers opened up a 10 or less lane however these entitled Asians of NJ had to ruin that for us following the rules. Maybe more signs on where the line is would be helpful. Loved all my purchases.

Look at all the negative feedback this Goodwill location keeps getting about inflated pricing and poor customer service. They keep replying that everyone's feedback is so important, and how they strive to do better, yet they implement no changes. I stopped shopping here over a year ago due to the same concerns others report, I decided to give it a go the other day thinking "maybe it's changed"... It hasn't. Also, repeatedly saying our money goes to fund thier GED program, great! but let's not forget we are in a time where we can see things like a company's revenue and profit. Clearly the responses from the company are ingenious. Their location is the only thing working for them, being on the pike gives them the traffic of one stop shoppers, they are losing repeat customers.

MY EXPERIENCE AND OVER A YEAR OF BAD REVIEWS READ!This store has gotten so out of hand with their pricing it is crazy. The prices have double then tripled over the last year on their DONATED items. Mid grade jerseys 60 dollars are you for real the same one sells online new cheaper. They are trying to take advantage of growing trend of thrifting but have nuts with blindly pricing items. When I asked the manager once why a print was 200 dollars he just said “huh they must have marked it down” and kept walking. The amount of quality items making it to the floor have dropped in order for the store to sell them online. Save your time with this place it is a rip off. Also looking through all the feedback here it has been said for over a year complaints about rude staff and over priced items. The response is always the same from goodwill. “We will talk to management at this store” but still the same complaints. It seems like that is an auto response to appease the writer of the review as well as make it appear that action is being taken and changes are being made. But none are!! GET RID OF THE AUTO REPLY and do something about it.

Went in on my work break to get a few things for my classroom and a employee walked up to me and was extremely rude. Placed the items was planning to purchase on the floor and walked out. Will never go there again.

I'm extremely disappointed. A while back I bought a guitar amplifier here for $80. When I got it home, after about 3 minutes of use it began making a crackling sound then smelled like burning wires. I took it back the next day, and the manager gave me a store credit. I specifically asked her if it expired at any point, and she said no and to have them call her if anyone gave me a problem with it. I've been back many times since, but found nothing I wanted.Fast forward to today, I found another amplifier. I tried to use the store credit, but they wouldn't take it, stating you must use it within 30 days. The manager who issued it no longer works there, and the current manager told me she would not honor it.Some Goodwill stores have a two day return/refund policy on electronics. I'll have to go to them instead from here on out.

I love hunting for treasures at this good will. Especially when they have the $1 Sundays. It’s hit or miss but I enjoy my time there :) some of my favorite thrifting pieces come from here. Only downside is the pricing. Sometimes they’re asking too much. I saw a vase that was definitely from Dollar Tree for $2.99 here. You can’t ask more for a used item than the item costs when it was brand new!

Has a fairly good selection of clothes, not a lot of variety but still good. Fairly reasonable prices as well.

I no longer go to the store, I went there last weekend like I normally do on my weekends, I will go to that store in New Jersey. I live in Pennsylvania and I would drive to This Store Because They Have A Lot of Interesting Things But What I've Been Noticing every time I go is that how nasty the workers are in this store, they are rude. They are nasty, especially at the counter. When you go to pay for your things and they treat you like you try to steal something because their prices don't match up with how they price them and. They get 2 different prices and then they try to treat you like you try to steal something by taking one product and mixing it with another, and it's only a couple of dollars. I'm not that broke. It's a Google store. That's why I go there and try to contribute. Goodwill has helped me in the past and I've always loved going to the stores to give back and I don't care about the prices. All I care about is enjoying my day. Getting a good deal and a lot of times it's not a good deal but I still contribute by paying for it. And go on to the Berlin flea market. But I will not go to the store again because of how rude and nasty they treated me last week. And it wasn't just 1 person. But it was a few of them all at once and it made me feel really messed up. No one I drove that far to go there too. Contributing and then get treated like craft from them.Because pause the store was closing. I was the only one left in the store. I went to the register and he told me. The register was closed but I was still shopping and one of the young ladies at the register. Saw me when I came in and then lied when I went to the register and said she announced that the store was closing 15 or 20 minutes ago. And I told her you're lying because I just got here 5 minutes to do and I grabbed something and came to the register and now you're acting like. I tried to steal somethere are so many other stores in New Jersey. And I will not return to that 1. I'm not the only one. I'm sure that has experience with the nasty and rude to sell these workers. I'm using voice to text and I did not spell check

If you want broken furniture, or stained clothes... but you REALLY wanna pay over retail value, this is your place. For 7.99, you can get a used 5-below shirts, and 5.99 gets you a broken mug! Win!

**READ** Yet another goodwill taking all the FREE inventory that get DELIVERED FREE OF CHARGE, and then turning around paying someone in the back minimum wage to look EVERY SINGLE ITEM UP and marking the items for what they see others online LISTED AT, NOT SOLD AT. The nerve of these people to already be making 100% profit and it not being enough and having Goodwill eBay pages selling things at full retail price and in the store for retail.

I've shopped at Goodwill for many years but their prices have gotten outrageous! I just left the store located in Stratford NJ and they only had a few items with the half color price tags and i saw a Diary of a Wimpy kid book for 7.99 and also a 2pk of mens boxer briefs was 9.99 for 2 BRIEFS!! I wonder if Headquarters is aware of their steep prices!!?? Smh

Here's a little secret most Goodwill shoppers don't know. The people in the back who sort and tag the merchandise work on commission. Most likely why products are over priced. It's not about the customer. It's about the commission. I also agree with the description of the Manager. Rude and condescending. I've actually issued a complaint to Corporate about this particular store. Probably why the cashier's are so miserable.

Used to be my favorite Goodwill. I could walk out with 6-7 things for around $20-25 tops, now im lucky to get 3 things for around there. TShirts were $2.49 in 2021 now they’re $5.99…ridiculous. Leather jackets pile up here because theyre all priced at $50. Shoes are over eBay prices, etc. The manager is truly the most rude person, and seems like a toxic environment there. Ive heard him yelling at employees in the office on multiple occasions. He also holds things for friends as I’ve seen a kid come in and heard them openly talking about it. They also have a “shoe lady” who comes in and buys all the shoes they set aside for her. Im sure the manager gets some money under the table for this. I rarely come here anymore and dont plan on changing that. Remember, all your product is donated…and you pay employees awful wages and pay no overhead besides rent (if any), supplies, utilities, and payroll. Many other businesses operate with fair prices and they actually pay for their product, so stop with that excuse. Goodwill is churning out money hand over fist. Be more self aware and get some new management.

Employees are rude, store is never organized even remotely, and their policies are outdated and far more restrictive than any comparable store or thrift (no beverages allowed inside, you have to leave your bag at the cashier) meanwhile they have customers in there asking me for money. Absolutely insane experience. My friend tried clothes on and stepped in urine.

Surprised by all the bad reviews. This is my favorite Goodwill in the area. It’s often messy & chaotic, but it’s also huge, has the biggest variety, and the best prices compared to the other ones in the area. I’ve never had an employee there be rude to me. They’ve always been friendly even when it was a nuthouse.

High prices aggressive, security on some days and long lines on Sunday…. Used to be a great place to find gems not so much anymore

If I could give zero stars I would. I got here at 10am on a Sunday and there was a line to the other end of the building... I gracefully walk in at 10:03 after the line is in the store ... people were scrambling like black Friday. Complete savages. Carts full by 10:20am and blocking all aisles .. I found one item for a $1 and had trouble getting to a register people would black aisles purposely as they were rapidly pushing hangers. I got to the register and the girl working didn't say a word to me completely ignored the 'how are u' didn't smile or make eye contact and it's only 1025am I'm checking out with one item. These people shouldn't be here if they can afford 300 in clothes go shop somewhere else and leave these used clothes to people who only leave $5 to their name. This is the worst experience I have ever had.

The experience here it’s like you are being watched. I’ve been followed. I’ve been asked for receipt every time I come here but watched plenty of people walking out without being asked for their receipts. The young guard it’s very rude and I’ve felt like I’ve been targeted by him every time I come in the store. I was asked to paid for merchandise that’s sitting in the front of the store and the lines were racked around the store. Not allowing me to shop around the rest of the store without paying for the items first and I only experience this with this young guard.

Could not agree more with the all reviews they refuse to answer about the RUDE AND NASTY cashiers turned managers. They will racially profile and arbitrarily remove tags from items, for example shoes, which have tags that match the exact price they have written all over the bottom without any basis. Had to deal with PAOLA V, who smells very poorly, and is just a plain racist. Making baseless claims, and arguing about it as if she herself paid for the items and was reselling.PLEASE DON'T JUST RESPOND ONLINE- DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

Angel Morales

I have never seen some let alone a manager, come up and blatantly rip off a tag. You could clearly see that the back of the item had previously pasted goodwill stickers. If your employees are mis marking product that’s not the consumers fault! The manager was very rude about the whole thing! He actually acted like they were gold bricks or something! I’m not from this area but am now sure I will not be back! Be better, act nicer, attitude adjustments are free!

To donate or to shop for heavily discounted items, Goodwill stores are a good option. Occasionally you can stumble across some real treasures.

I support many good wills with both donations and purchases. However yesterday I felt harassed and discriminated by the store manager. He came up to me while I was looking at a book and told me I was in a couple weeks ago and didn't buy anything and then went ahead to say I had been there for hours and not buying anything again. I was not aware of a time limit and a must buy policy to shop. He said I had no money and told me to look at my clothes. 😡 Completely disrespectful and became very hostile. It is unacceptable how management talks to customers.

I saw a really cute purse that I liked but as I was looking inside of it I found a very sharp knife! I am glad it didn't cut my hand! I reported it to the cashier and she didn't say a word about it. I won't be back now.

Goodwill and thrift stores in general used to be a good place to find discounts and bargains. That was before these types of places became chic and trendy. Now you can find used, donated merchandise that is literally priced at the same as the retail price. Couple that with inches thick of dust and dirt on donated hardlines and it's no longer a bargain.

Asked to keep 1 hanger to keep my father's clothes from getting wrinkled. These are clothes I'm taking to have him burried in and the woman wouldn't even let me keep 1. Heartless....

Stop writing prices on items with permanent marker! It’s ruining the piece and makes it less valuable. Sometimes you can remove it if you’re lucky. Not if it’s written on wood, porous material or delicate paint. I’ve mentioned it to the staff and they blame it on the customers for removing stickers. Mind you the item I was speaking of was in a case at the front of the store. Tell me how a customer is going to enter a case and remove a sticker without being noticed. Not to mention I’m not purchasing something that you purposely ruined. So your shoddy logic is flawed. This goodwill in particular is guilty of this tactic. None of the others in the area ruin product with permanent marker. I’ve spoken with managers of other goodwills in the area and even they said they aren’t allowed to do this. Furthermore I was told (by staff at surrounding goodwills) the pricers get incentivized by selling over a certain dollar amount each month they then receive a percentage of the sales. This in turn means they battle price tag removal because of the higher than normal price increases, ruining items with permanent marker and even hiding damage by placing a sticker over it. You’ve basically incentivized immoral behavior from your already mentally diminished exploited staff. In all honesty you should be training them to do things using a moral compass not turning it into a money grab. Have you forgotten your own mission? In case you forgot It’s helping your community not exploiting them for profit. Goodwill Stratford you’ve lost your way.
