Crowded aisles and would probably be better simplifying their inventory a bit. Lines were long and a lot of waiting for the people doing self checkout with ton of items. Should do some smaller quantity lines for those of us getting less than 7 items. No regular kale... guess super popular in the eating at home phase. Some good deals but annoying that you need the app or website to do some of the coupons now which is annoying when you don't have a smartphone. If you don't have the app then you miss the digital deals. Specials tend to be very thin at the evenings. Go early to get those, or to a bigger ShopRite in Livingston.The aisles are much less crowded now as the crowds only tend to come out on weekends. Weekdays end up being much lighter, this is as of March 2024.

My ShopRite experience this day was so unpleasant. Today I went to the self-check. I place 3 milk gallons and I place it in the back of my shopping cart where it fits. The rest of items were in my small shopping bag. When I finished checking out and paying. I was about to exit and this lady who was around my height which is 5’6-5’7, black female. I assumed she was the manager. She saw the milk in the back of my cart. She murmured something I couldn’t hear and was eyeing my cart. I said “excuse me” I thought I lost something and I looked around. She replied “milk” then I realized that she thought I didn’t pay for the milk since it was in the back of my cart. I asked her if she wanted to check my receipt. She remained silent and turned away. My question for her or ShopRite is that during my self-checking I already scanned and moved everything to the small table that is attachment. My cart was empty and I payed for my items. I moved the items into my bag and the milk to the back of the cart. There were already about 4 employees watching the self-checkout station. By the time I was about to exit the ShopRite, why didn’t the employees say something if they thought I didn’t scan the milk. What were they doing before if they stopped me by the exit asking about the milk. If they were paying attention they would see that I scanned and payed already. If Shoprite don’t believe the customers I don’t understand why there is even a self-checkout.

Good for when you're in a pinch, but staying away from this ShopRite. Terrible smell coming from the bakery when you walk into the store. Produce selection is small and consistently out out of stock. Small selection with dry goods as well.

Lots of selection, and good prices. I’ll take ShopRite over their competitors any day. If you look at their shelves, you can see how many products are crammed in there and the variety of things they have compared to Stop & Shop or other grocery store. Their store brand is also very inexpensive on some items like peanuts — a great value.

This ShopRite is always nicely stocked and the workers are very helpful (especially the gentlemen in the produce section) and nice. This might be my new go to for grocery shopping.

My husband and I have always been ShopRite fans and customers but after moving to Springfield about a year ago, we have to say that we don’t like our ShopRite of Springfield. The smell when you wake in is not inviting, the layout of the supermarket is awful and the produce department offers no variety and looks grim. The checkout staff a lot of times seem like they don’t want to be there and not the friendliest. I was so happy that it was close to our new home but I have to say that I only go there for milk and bread. I don’t like to give bad reviews, but I hopefully the feedback helps improvement. Other ShopRite have improved for better layouts, and positive changes.

Generally find everything I need here. They used to have the best cole slaw in the world, now they have the worst. It’s actually called “bulk” and tastes like raw cabbage. Yuck. Their Bowl and Basket version is not much better but it’s edible. Can’t figure this out since most of their Bowl and Basket products are quite good and well priced. Fix it!

I walked in here a month ago to grab some basics and walked right out. The smell in here is horrendous. Smelled like mold, rotten food and goodness knows what else. Very stale odor. I would not shop here.

Don’t know where to start. Awful customer service overall. Front end manager is useless. Deli personnel need to be retrained. Deli meats usually end up in a ball. Deli kiosk hurts the deli service.Meat selection is scarce and the so-called butchers are not helpful. My wife usually has to go to Kings for a good meat selection and extremely helpful butchers. Shelves and produce are being stocked during the prime shopping hours and those stocking shelves are usually in the way and the shelves are still pretty much empty. I feel the management is to blame.

I started buying the minestrone soup 4 months ago and it was outstanding. I continued to buy it for several more weeks, and then it turned dreadful. Made me wonder if anybody monitors the food quality. Last week was the worst having every vegetable in the book, all of it old, stale, leftovers. Every portion I bought between the outstanding portions and the last one were lousy for different reasons. No 2 were alike, some didn't even have pasta. All had no taste. I suggest management standardize their recipes, and either train their "chefs" or fire them!

Nice supermarket with many choices, including an olive bar, great cheese selection, a variety of fresh baked pastries and breads and fish and a butcher.I like the wide aisles allowing for 2 people to pass each other without carts bumping into one another unlike some other local Shop Rites. The parking lot is a bit cramped, but at least people put their carts back.The people who work here are also very nice & kind.

Awful, just awful customer service. I counted three clerks just standing there while I was looking for a cashier so I could pay, all she did was say “only the self-check out is open”…only the self check out is open?!? Then WHY ARE YOU HERE?!! It’s 9:20pm, the store closes at 10pm and none of the cashiers looked like they wanted to work.The fact is that you need management to enforce the job duties of the cashiers so the customers can keep it moving….not having a cashier lazily point out to a self-check out lane when you, the customer, are having 20 items.Next time it happens, I will take photos and bring it up with BBB.They all had a bad attitude just milking out the clock.

I’ve been going to this ShopRite for years. Pros: You can find the staples and selection that Kings and Whole Foods don’t have, and your overall shopping basket will be much cheaper.Cons: Produce. Green beans frequently look like they literally fell off a truck.

This is such a sweet home town kind of feel grocery store ! After shopping here for more than 5/6 years, the manager, Mohamed is like an old friend. He’s always so kind I helpful. His staff is also very friendly, shelves are stocked often & well. The bathrooms & place in general are certainly clean. Even the gentleman gather shopping carts outside goes out of his way to get your cart if it’s really cold or rainy, so you don’t have to rush it back to the “corral”! And even on days when they have inventory lining every row - and the store’s about to close, Mohamed & his staff kindly help you get what you need as quickly as possible & they don’t make you feel badly as they know you’re rushing just as fast as you can (we know they had a long day & want to get home too!) Also- their sales are GREAT!

Shop From Home - Awesome job! Never mistakes or issues. Whoever runs this team meticulously double and triple checks everything and its rare when an item is out of stock. This is the best location as I have used Chatham, Union, and Livingston many times in the past and always had price issues or items that were supposedly out of stock. I'm very happy with this service. 5 out of 5 stars. A+

LOVE this store for like 20 years now. It could use some updating, but it is big enough to have a variety and small enough to not be overwhelming. The staff are always nice, some of them have worked there for many years. CS is nice and helpful. Deli is always clean. Like it much better than Union store which is big impersonal and overwhelming. I would surely miss this store if it weren't around.

It's a smaller, older Shoprite, but produce, seafood, etc. are good, good selection. Mostly have everything that's on sale and varieties I prefer. Excellent fresh bread. Service and parking are good too. Still the location I prefer, even with a huge, new store about the same distance. Downside is that deli staff don't seem to know how to slice.

The store itself TODAY was great - little traffic inside and most lines were open and available - except for my cashier. Not very friendly and did not seem inclined to help with bagging. No smile or greeting and not even a thank you when I tipped her a few bucks to see if that would change the motivation - nope.I will leave it at that as Im sure most of you can guess the scenario picture.

It is small but I usually find all normal grocery items. They don't stock lot of specialized items for baking and the gluten free and dairy free sections are very small..They have good quality but not too many varieties for organic produce.They have added new soup and salad bar section only last week. So yet to determined how these are...

Hadn't been here for some time. Pleasantly surprised at completely revamped store. Store is smaller than ShopRite of Union but the quality of the produce, seafood Dept was better. Definitely recommend this store now. It was my "home" store until ShopRite of Union opened. The staff was always friendly and helpful at the Springfield store. I only switched to Union because it was much better layout and selection than Springfield. Now that Springfield is upgraded it would be my choice again.

Not a fan of the parking situation as we are all crammed in there like sardines. 😂 Otherwise it's nice. The fruit produce though goes bad in a day of getting it home. Other friends have complained to me about this also. Staff is nice and friendly and helpful. And the store is clean.
