Sparta pet shop is an awesome place to bring your dog to groom. My dog is extremely nervous and skittish, they are so good with her and do a beautiful job with grooming her. I recommend them highly. Nice people too.

I had been using a this place to have my mini poodle groomed. One day i went to pick her up and the staff had shaved her completely including her boots on her leg. Owner never gave an explanation and then charged full price for the horrible shaving and then offered to give next one free. Dumb me i went back, had her trim and then got charged 1/2 price rather than freeThis joint is bad. i use Petsmart in Newton

I've been taking my dogs to the Sparta Pet Shoppe & Spa for many years.The prices are very reasonable and they take wonderful care of my dogs.One of my dogs is a young pit/lab mix who can be a real exuberant handful, but they manage him with no problems at all. In fact, my dogs LOVE their pet spa visits - that should tell you all you need to know about the amazing people who work there. In addition, The Sparta Pet Shoppe & Spa carries a wide variety of pet foods, toys and pet accessories. I give The Sparta Pet Shoppe & Spa FIVE STARS, only because I'm not allowed to give them TEN!

The absolutely best pet shop, grooming services around! Friendly groomers and the owner, Kevin, is very personable! It’s more than just a place to get your pet groomed. The shop is filled with pet toys and nutritious food for your pets!

I have been taking my poodle, Coal, here since he was a pup. That's been about 10 years now. Lynn and her ladies have always been kind, courteous and absolutely wonderful with my dog. They really know their products and helped me figure out what dog food to use that fit my vet's requirements, that Coal would eat and what the correct amounts to feed him were. That's way better service than you would get at one of the bigger chain stores. The groomers here are also top notch. I've never had an issue and have always had a smiling pup afterwards. Book your appointments for grooming about a week in advance and you'll be fine. They have always been prompt in taking him even when I am the first appointment of the day. I don't think you could ask for a better small business in Sparta. And don't forget to say hello to ole' Rosie!!!

I gave them a try, as they were the only place for grooming I see when I'm out about in town. The owner confirmed they understood the type of cut I was looking for, and they were experts with my dog's breed. This couldn't be further from the truth. When I went to pick her up, she was shaking, completely terrified, and looked like an absolute embarrassment.I was then berated and told that I wasn't specific (when I was), so this was my fault. Her nails were sharp enough to cut my skin and was told that filing was extra. With the horrible job performed, they could have at least tried to make it right by offering to do that but did not. On a side note, one of the owners was yelling at a dog in the back when I first arrived for pickup.I have since been using Candi's in Lake Hopatcong for the past two years and could not be happier. Our dog looks great, leaves happy, and actually kisses Candi on the way out! I don't write many reviews but felt people could benefit from my knowing my experience.
