I was just in the store to return a brass pipe coupling and a brass pipe nipple. When I brought the items back they were stuck together. But I brought items in a paper bag. Since they were stuck together the lady at the return told me that she couldn’t take it like that. I was fine with her answer. I was walking away to look for a smaller coupling and nipple, the lady said that she needed to keep the bag. I felt insulted as if she thought that I was going to steal the items. I called for the manager. I waited 5 minutes he didn’t come. Then the lady proceeded to give me the bag as if now I can walk around the store with it. I decided to walk out. I got in my car about to leave but, I still felt that I was insulted by her actions. I came back in the store and demanded to talk to the manager. His answer was that it was protocol since 3 months ago which to me I felt that he was lying and protecting his employee. To say the least, they South Plainfield Home Depot will not have my business again.

It's a home Depot. You know what to expect. This one is generally clean and organized. The few times I did need help, the employees were very friendly in helping me with what I needed to find. Customer service is pretty good. Overall, nothing really bad to say about it.

Went to rent a lawnmower the Asian guy says I have a customer renting a vehicle I just have to give him a receipt give me 5 mins. He goes outside comes back in 10. He comes in and says, "How can I help you?" I asked how much is it to rent the lawnmower he says like $49.00 a day I asked how much for 4 hours? Phone starts ringing he says give me a moment. Picks up the phone never answers my full question. Gets off the phone he says give me a moment. I said "I've been here for well over 20 minutes phone rings again he picks up "give me a moment". I'm like answer your call I've got more important things to do than watch you play on the phone all day. I walk out thinking I parked in the front and remember I parked on the rental side. While I'm walking past he tells the customer on the phone "My man told me to answer the phone I'm just doing what he says". While I'm leaving. I almost lost it because the entire time not one other customer came in to rental dept and I felt berated as a customer that wasted time. Total lack of professionalism. I bought a new Honda lawn mower last year from HD the cord broke I said f the rental and just replaced the cord. I will never rent from them again.

5 stars for Donna B. in the garden department. She was probably the 5th employee that I spoke with and the only one who was willing to help me locate an item at this South Plainfield store. I was walking inside the store, back and forth from one end to the other, trying to find this item, being shown 20 in stock from the HD app but with no aisle and bin #. Donna B. was able to show me where the similar items would be, and bingo, I was able to find it. The item was all the way on the top shelf. I took a picture to zoom in so that I can confirm the item #. Then Donna B. went extra miles to get a ladder and pulled the item for me. You can forget about the first 4 employees, one of them telling me to order online but it says in stock at the store; he just didn't wanna be bothered. Home Depot should do their best to keep employees like Donna B. I am not related to Donna B. in any possible way; I go to Home Depot for DIY projects.

I would give a NEGATIVE -1,0000 stars if google lets me. This places is runs by idiots and dumb employees that doesn't care about the customer. I would never buy anything from here and hope no one will neither. The item was label on the shelve for $5.00 and i went to checkout it ran up normal price of $8.00. I took a picture and showed to them. They had to hold me hostage and go find a manager to confirm. Which took them like 20mins to find out whats is going on. The Indian lady was nosey as hell speaking in their language probably saying I try to change the tag or whatever. They thought I was probably stealing or something. Manager gave them the code to put in to override it but the stupid indian lady forgot the code and hold me there for another 10mins while she call the manager again....... So damn frustrating. These idiots don't think other people got places to go and things to do. They held me there 30mins to figure things out. Meanwhile when i was shopping around earlier their empolyee just lounge around busy talking and laughing when other people was looking for help. waste of my damn time.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE this store is terrible for online orders. Came to pick up waited in the online order line for 15 minutes to have the cashier come up and say i had to wait in the returns line; which was backed up 7-8 people long. Some of the people on line for returns were waiting 30minutes. Whats the point of online order if you cant just grab and go? Cancelled my order and grabbed the items in store quicker than if I waited.

I just want to report a rude behavior with me by customer service manager during my pickup order of Grill. A assembly was not available and lady was giving me most of answers "I don't know" with angry face and then I asked can I have another box for the broken box. She was greeting everybody else but treating me like I have done some kind of mistake by ordering their and picking up on that day. I am expecting fair treatment with all customers. I like going to this store and most of the time had good experience.

I was here on September 6, 2023, and I must say that the manager (Robert) has really transformed this place. I always had a high opinion of this location, but I feel it is now perfect. Everything is very organized, the employees are very helpful, and Robert truly shows he cares about the employees and the customers. I think he is the best manager this location has ever had.

Go to the PRO desk...LA LA IS THE BEST. She's patient and friendly and relatable...to EVERYONE. She was helping me get my order together for a fence I was putting in and; NO Lie; a minimum of 5 customers stopped to say hi, a couple of them even gave her a hug. Her line was longer than all the other PRO reps because she had helped so many people that they all go back to her. I can say the atmosphere at the PRO desk is definitely different when she is not there. She's a keeper!!!!! In my opinion she would make a good supervisor/ manager!

I was looking for the skill saw cutting guides. These are great for a beginner or if you want to make things exact like shelves, crafts, home improvement. I also bought a Dewalt Sawzall. I have two Dewalt drills at home so the sales guy informed me I can use the charger and battery that I have at hone for this as well, Dewalt is interchangeable as I'm sure all brands are for cordless tools.

3rd time I got a key cut at this location, and 3rd time it doesn't work. Save your time and do not get keys cut here. They are pretty incompetent when it comes to cutting keys.

I love home Depot I get everything there.I am renovating my bath room and ran out of tiles I had to go to a home Depot in south Plainfield to get more and they charged $10.00 more per box than I paid in Union. I was told at the customer service desk that all stores are not priced the same even with online orders I'm disappointed Home Depot. Lesson is always get more tiles than you need some of the boxes have broken tiles and check prices.

If you come here with a delivery, Jamie is the slowest receiver in home depot history. Prepare to wait. He'll find anything and everything to do other than take their freight off the truck.

Me and my neighbour placed a Window Replacement order through this store for Anderson Windows, Robert made the sale by coming to our home. This was in early February 2023. They did mention that because of an elliptical window, this may take a while, like May-June.Promptly after the order was placed, the measure techs came and did the measurement, I did ask them if a template is needed for that elliptical window, and their response was No.A month after, measure techs come because Anderson apparently did need a template. Long after that, I follow up and I m told that all other windows are ready except that Elliptical window and they will ship all others and send the elliptical when ready.Weeks and months after, nothing, and I follow up to the sales guy, measure tech, the 1-800 #, the South Plainfield store where they all work, no one, absolutely no one replies their phones or calls me back, I leave voice mails after voice mails. I even called Robert’s boss and no call back. I go to the South Plainfield store and speak to this guy named Eric and he is so rude, and the only thing he says is that the window replacement is a separate division and they will call back when ready. He will send an email to see if there is any other update.Yesterday I finally get a call from one of the measure tech and apparently the template never reached Anderson so they have been waiting for it and no one from this Home Depot Windows Replacement department ever cared to follow up or find out what was the glitch. This measure tech promised to get to the bottom of it and get back to me today. Nothing.Almost $30K worth of my order and $40K for my neighbour, no updates no responses. This service from HD is useless, people who are selling this at HD are irresponsible and unaccountable, and even the store people are rude. I’d recommend to never order this from HD, definitely not from this store associated folks like Robert and others.

Two things1.Perhaps you may not believe the following fact:Home Depot locks entire bundles of electrical wire in a metal cabinet. If someone wants to buy wire, they must ask a store employee to unlock the cabinet and escort them to the checkout. This is an insult to all customers and treats them as thieves! I have never seen or heard of such an anti-theft measure before. If someone steals wire, Home Depot should strengthen its theft prevention and surveillance methods, rather than treating customers like thieves. Its management is really out of their minds!2. Is a return need to show ID? On 11/16/2022 morning, I returned some stuffs just 7 dollars and a black associate wanted to see my ID. Very Strange? I have been with this HD 25 years , and was never been checked ID. Is this discrimination against me? An Asian contractor. Two days ago, I also did a return. I stood there waiting while three lady associates chatting together. Later two persons came in and they got helped by ladies right away, I was ignored there 20 minutes on purpose until I shouted to them and then I got serviced. Was I invisible? Very Strange! I think there is discrimination again me there. Those employee in return department are all new guys. They don't know about the customer service. They need to be trained. BTW, I have been with this Home Depot since the day it was opened 25 years ago, maybe more

Wouldn’t cut their own Home Decorator’s blinds which are on the shelf and says “cut-to-measure”. Their excuse - because I took them home then brought back to cut at a later time!

Went in to buy some lumber for bed slats. I found Chris to help me get the lumber cut. The second I looked towards his way, he offered me help. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly and fast. He helped me pick out nice boards without defects, cut the lumber exactly to spec, and I was on my way. I don't often leave reviews, but I felt like I had to because it's not often that you get such great customer service these days and I felt the need to call it out.

It's great for everyday items but if you want something that's not an every day thing like light bulbs or soil for example then this home Depot is usually out of it and their website pushes you to their watchung location. As far as in store pickup they have a Amazon locker like system outside the store but I've never had that as an option for pickup it's always you have to go in the store and wait in line for it no matter the size of the item. I feel like the locker system should be expanded because that would be better than waiting in line.

My boyfriend & I like Home Depot over Lowe's. His job is Union & most of them shop at Home Depot. His Union had done work for them. This is their way of being respectful. Most of his tools can be found here. All our needs are met here. Never any problems. Staff very helpful. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everyone that I interacted with that works there sent me in circles trying to “help” me find an item. One employee said “it’s inside” and that was the extent of the help. I went up to another employee and asked (who also stood there right in front of my face having a conversation with another employee about something not work related before acknowledging me) and replied with “it’s outside”. Everyone seems unhappy and wants to do as little as possible to help
