Hello! I wanted to make this post a while ago but I completely forgot to. We checked out the facility a few times before but we where not sure if we wanted a cat yet. The cats there looked very well taken care of and happy. We adopted our cat from this shelter at a pop up event at pet smart. This was over a year ago and the cat we adopted has become such a big part of our family. This was my first cat so I was not sure what to expect. She is the most loving and curious little kitty in the world! I am so glad we adopted her because she makes us so happy! We named her Siren. Thank you so much!

I went to this shelter 4 months ago and adopted the loves of my life. Bella and Luna were such babies and everyone a this facility made the adoption process so simple and easy. They answered all my questions. I can not sincerely thank this shelter enough.

They were accommodating, patient and friendly. I adopted Charlie, a healthy, vibrant 8-month old kitten who I adore and is an amazing addition to our family!Update: he is a Huge love bug! He gets great with my 70 lbs shepherd and the play relentlessly. My dog loves to flip him over and groom him. The people at the animal shelter suggested him for me. And they were spot on! I highly encourage adoption!

They give all rabies shots and all shots needed that lasts for a year! They promised us a kitten for our first time and we loved the cat they picked out for us

Our loving pet passed recently and I went too the animal shelter for advice on how to dispose of the carcass. The staff at the shelter were extremely understanding and caring.

The shelter, run by Katie, the Senior Animal Control Officer, is a clean and professional run. They do have a volunteer group that does help very often, and Katie is very personable and easy to get along with, she is very knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and will go out of the way to help you. They accept pet food (both dog and cat food) to help out, and I have received many a phone call when Katie has a Service Dog question. However, again she is professional both in person and does her duty in her capacity as an Animal Control Officer. The have a on site low cost dog/cat clinic once a week for township residents of low income which does help.

My partner and I had been looking for a cat earlier in 2022 and we decided to check out Franklin animal shelter, we saw three cats and on the third cat we meet Peter, he’d been in the shelter for a few months and he had a special place in everyone’s hearts for sure. The second he came out he was cuddling with my partner and I and we instantly had a connection. From what we saw and experienced, this place is legit, the people here really care for the animals at the shelter, they work with you when you need anything!Any time we had questions about paperwork or just questions, They were super patient with us… they even recommended a vet that we absolutely love!We love Peter (new name Obito… Obi for short) we’ve had him for 7 months now and we couldn’t imagine our lives without him anymore. He spends his days being carried like a baby, sleeping, and getting all the attention he wants.Definitely need to send some pictures in soon! But anyway! Thank you so much to everyone that works/volunteers here, you make a difference!

I adopted my best friend cat from here. It was a long time ago, so hopefully conditions are still as good. The staff, particularly Brian, were very helpful in finding my match (was Bailey the tabby but I named her Andini because it sounded like a pretty name for my pretty kitty). They cared about the animals a lot, were knowledgeable, and the conditions were as good as could be. A lot of people have been dumping animals during the pandemic and I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for the staff to keep up, but still they do a great job. Other shelters were hesitant because of my young age, but this shelter gave me a chance after seeing that I would be responsible with a decision of this magnitude and I’m glad they did. Coming here was the best decision I’ve made, I will always be happy to have my wonderful cat around! She is snuggling with me now and purring. My leg falls asleep when she sits on me for a long time and it’s worth it.

I called when I saw Bernie's picture and we went to see him yesterday. There are many beautiful, adoptable animals here! And the workers are so nice, friendly and clearly love the animals. We pick Bernie today!

We love the Franklin Animal shelter, our family has come here for nearly every single pet we have adopted in the last 40 years and we also donate supplies when we can.The shelter is supported by Second Chance for Animals and you can tell everyone really cares for the animals. The animals are all chipped and spayed/neutered and the adoption fees are super reasonable.

My family has adopted most of our animals from here throughout my entire life (22+ years). I've volunteered here for the past 2 years and from the inside it is run very well. Katie cares deeply for the welfare of each animal, as do all of the staff and volunteers. Animals are up to date on all shots, medicated (if needed), provided enrichment and socialization regularly, and confides are sanitized daily. Every animal is given a chance at finding a home, no matter how long it takes. Lovely place with great people running it, animals treated very well. Definitely adopt from here if you're looking for a new family member.

I came in 4 weeks ago after a stray cat gave birth in my garage and abandoned her kittens the next day after several hours. In panic I came to the shelter to see if there was anything they could do and one of the lady’s there was extremely rude to me. Saw the box of kittens rolled her eyes and cringed at how angry she was that I brought them there. Already in a vulnerable situation I asked if there was anything I could do and she said “nothing it was too late”. After talking with the manager I was not able to leave the kittens there (understandably- I was not apart of the township) I came home and decided to take on the role of raising my kittens myself after the mom had only come back for one. This week they turned 4 weeks old and they found a wonderful home together yesterday. Wish I gave that lady a piece of my mind.

Fuzzy animals, friendly staff. What's not to love? On a more serious note, they took my Dad's cat when he got sick and he couldn't take care of her anymore. It was a tough time for our family, but they took great care of his beloved pet and re-homed her quickly. No amount of thanks could ever be enough.

Got two of my cats from here and I love them 😍😍 convenient price for cats whereas other shelters are in the $100s & they all come up to date on their shots. They’re well taken care of here.

I adopted a cat and then a dog from there. Couldn't be more pleased. They have all shots and you get one visit with the vet that is located right next to them. Had to bring my dogs down to see how they got along. They are very concerned about their adoptions.

Watch out for the Chinese Man who volunteers there!! He is rude and they wouldn't let anyone adopt animals and if they did they couldn't take it home until after Xmas even if they were ready!! No signs on the cages telling you the cats names or their age or even if they were adopted or anything. He wouldn't even let you touch the cat or interact to see how the cat interacts with you that man doesn't need to be volunteering there at all he's horrible and he hurt my daughter's feelings today she cried in the car!
