I used to come here every summer with my best buddy from 2007-2011 then I left for the Navy. Ive come back three times since then and the quality of food is just as good as it was back then.Thank you for maintaining a high quality of ingredients and service at an incredible price.I dont know how new the Banana bread french toast is, but that was some of the best french toast I've ever had!

They are open early for the fisherman folks.Forget the counter...Belly up to the counter and enjoy the conversation.All of the breakfast things you could want, they have and are prepared wellWaitress was excellent and added a great vibe to the place.The clientele was great...good people.I really enjoyed my visit and I will be back the next time I am in the area.PS...I love a place that defends stupid reviews. Some of the comments here are priceless. Defend your turf...as this is a special place!

The food was so horrific that my 7 year old wrote the original review. As someone who eats out multiple times a day and travels internationally on business, this was by far the worst breakfast I've ever had anywhere and I should have taken pictures. The eggs? Literally, they were burned and had grease marks throughout them. His over easy eggs were literally a plate of salmonella. The sausage? Was beyond greasy and obviously of very cheap quality. The pancakes? Dry and disgusting. The orange juice? Was sour and absolutely not freshly made or from a cheap brand container. No one asked anyone for anything at all whatsoever for "free," and my vehicle alone is worth more than your establishment. The server was very nice and was tipped accordingly. Your food is basically inedible, and people coming down to this area should be aware of it. Read my other over one hundred plus reviews, and the vast majority are 4 to 5 stars. I support and spend a ton of money at local establishments everywhere so obviously, your restaurant is a nightmare and made us all literally sick.

I remember Betty and Nicks from the 80s. It was a place where you got a great cup of coffee and everyone knew each other. Poles and reels above you and all around. Anyway the internet has also made surf fishing a lonely, social media posting activity. It's sad to me....

My family and I have been coming to Seaside Park for our annual summer getaway for more than 15 years now, and a breakfast at Betty and Nick's is always a highlight of the trip. Everything they make here is delicious, especially the breakfast offerings. I have been to hundreds of diners across the country, and Betty and Nick's time and time again comes out on top, S-tier establishment. Do not miss this place if you're in the area.

I’ve had such an amazing experience here until the last two times I’ve been. We will go inside and tell them we’d like to sit outside and they give us our menus then don’t come back. The past two times we’ve had to go inside to get someone. No problem, I understand people can forget. I also asked for my eggs on the avocado toast on the side, My boyfriend likes to eat them, but I don’t. And she told me that I’d have to take them off myself because the cook won’t allow it. So now I’m paying for avocado toast with eggs, but no eggs. Their tackle section has always worked for us and we do get everything we need from here.

Very helpful guys at the bait shop I was so disappointed in the food service. The food was great. I felt so uncomfortable and like a burden to the waitress. My girlfriend held the door for her to go inside with her after we were seated the waitress didn't even say thank you.

Although it's advertised as a "fishing shop" on Google Maps, the restaurant side of Betty & Nick's has the best breakfast & lunch food on the entire island. No one cooks with my heart & passion on the Jersey Shore than Earl.Breakfast Sandwiches, Omelettes, Pancakes Wraps, Burgers, Cheese Steaks, Chili; you name it, the best place to get it is here!The dish shown is a cheeseburger w/ porkroll & a side of garlic parmesan fries 😋

I took my 13 and 11 year old kids for breakfast, and this place did not disappoint. The food was amazing. Look at the photos yourself. The back was crispy, the pancakes were fluffy, and my avocado toast was full of flavor. We are definitely going back.

A simple cafe adjoining a bait and tackle fishing shop which has been here for many decades...serving excellent breakfast and lunch specials and sandwiches in-house or to go. Counter and table service is usually friendly and prompt. The locals know each other and make guests feel comfortable should they choose to chat.Prices are necessarily a little high when the season is only a few months yet they're reasonable because the food is ample and well done and there aren't many other places. Among breakfast choices are eggs with a nice slab of ham or deep fried very crispy bacon, sausage and gravy over biscuits, large pancakes (blueberry is popular) or large variable omelets of your choice. Lunch special sandwiches are listed on the blackboard and the modestmenu. They are usually nicely constructed and filling. You will probably like your visit if your expectations are for a down spot a block from the beach.It's often a very busy place during the summer season at peak times of the day and week. Dining at tables outside on the sidewalk is also available.

Expensive. Very limited stock and small. Dose not carry a lot. Seems like there going out of business. Bait is very limited. Empty shelves and never open anymore. Haven't seen updated fishing reports in a while too. They were better 5 to 6 years ago. Business seems to be changing ways.;Update: Owner appears to be a rude person and this is how he treats his customers. Dose not seem to care about customers. You Also have a nasty attitude and your business reflects that. There are other 4 to 5 star reviews for other businesses just not yours.Update 2:Owner seems to have his mind in the dumpster. feels that he cant take honest reviews from honest people. Y'all see what he wrote here and see how he treats people. Wont shop here again. Go somewhere else for bait.

Ill give two stars just because last year everytime we came here it was delicious and the service was great . So there was never anything to complain about. So i was excited to come here our first beach trip this year and the dissappointment was uncanny. It feels like they lost all their nice and friendly staff ive came here 3 times this summer and probably wont go back. Everytime im there i stand and wait even though my food is ready and people are walking around. And my food has not been satisfactory, homefries taste like straight butter and arent even cooked fully. I wanted spinach with my eggs which is a simple request, and they told me they couldnt do it. No breakfast place in the history of breakfast can not put spinach on their flat top and heat it up, absolutely absurd. Ive worked in numerous breakfast places and the owners of those places would have a heart attack if one of their employees said that to a customer. Probably wont be returning, very unfortunate):

Place is going downhill, fast.Empty shelves and at best C+ rating in their reel service dept.A couple stars for food. There is not much positive feedback for any anglers’ needs.—It’s a standard grading chart - don’t look too far into it.Some advice, stop making yourself look so defensive with these reviews. Take that energy and put it into simply doing better.—I can’t believe I’m wasting more of my time, this is for the public to see.It was a Penn Battle III 5000 - you may have replaced a spring but did not grease the drag or anything else. $25 for a spring, thanks.Your obvious defense on any negative review shows that you’re hiding something. No empathy or drive to make things better. simply calling people that have spent their money at your business names.From your responses, you act like the guy at the bar that thinks everyone likes them, no one really does.Feedback is important and it matters how you accept it, you clearly can’t.

The food was fine. However, the owner? Was yelling at the waitress and getting hostile and nasty in front of customers. I was so uncomfortable for the entire encounter. It was so unprofessional and unnecessary. Then one of the cashier waitresses went and finished the sandwiches after touching things outside and not once washed her hands. When you’re in an open kitchen especially, you should be making a point to follow simple health code standards. Definitely will not be back.

The rating is for the breakfast. We stopped there after seeing people post about the breakfast sandwiches. We got two bagel sandwiches one pork roll, egg and cheese and the other bagel with egg white and cheese. Both were not good. Bagel was not fresh and a bit stale. It ruined the flavor. We could not finish it. The pork roll was without flavor.Definitely a great place for fishing and beach supplies but pass on the food.

Nick is a great guy and a knowledgeable patron. I took his advice, bought what he suggested and caught some fish. Need I say more? Betty & Nick's was recommended to me and I recommend them to you. Everything you need a bait shop to be. Good selection of tackle. Excellent selection of live bait. Reel service to keep your gear in top shape. All this and a nice little restaurant attached, and did I mention the professional and knowledgeable staff to help you with your questions.
