I would give this store 5 stars. They can blame the 3 stars for the bad attitude that comes from the produce manager and the frozen department. They have this oldschool union employee attitude. Get out of retail if you can't handle customers.The customer service front-end and courtesy counter are outstanding employees that go out of their way for customers when need so.The deli, seafood, and meat employees are also very helpful.

First off, it's just a grocery store, an Acme that's just the same as any other... Except, the employees and manager at this location are rude and nasty. They also have different pricing from the rest of the chain and often refuse to honor the pricing on the distributed flyers if they are different that this locations pricing. The pricing on all items is higher at this location and if you can just go over the bridge to other stores on Fischer Blvd or Route 37. We are within walking distance bit get in the car and go elsewhere instead...s

Plenty of fresh produce, well organized and reasonably priced. A very good deli with meats and cheeses from several top brands. A large Dairy dept with lots variety. All kinds of canned and packaged items to make any holiday or summer event great!

Friendly staff! Our son accidentally threw his hacky sack on the freezers (yeah I know, 11 year olds) and someone helped us to get it back. Made our day. Great groceries too, lots of choice.

Very racist. But that’s just the demographic of the area. Old, antiquated white folks, who can’t handle any other people who don’t fit their own description. Soon as me and my friends walked in the employees called a code 200 (shoplifting watch) we were followed through the store and made extremely uncomfortable although we were just shopping. Horrible experience.

Great store, some items are overpriced being its the only store on the island but do BEWARE in the off season food is often expired, especially frozen food so be warned. Little kbown secret is tbey always have a big variety of (unexpired) clearance itens so its usually pretty easy to snag a deal on something!!

Local yearly… and I’ve liked the staff I interact with - and the store. Off season, the pricing with 2/1 deals are better than the lower by little pricing over the bridge.One huge flaw.Your hours are whatever you want that night.Making it really suck when you can’t get there till 9-10pm but it says you’re open till 11pm and I coulda stopped in TR on my way home.Awesome 🤘🏻I do however get the bonus and rad experience of watching the employees stand there on their phones waiting for 11 but not wanting to do their jobs and ignoring me. 👍🏻(If only I were the 20yr old me.)Then again, this wouldn’t happen back then.But enter post covid ethics…. and we get the present social norms. (vomit in my mouth a little)It’s wrong. Inconvenient. Laziness.Other than that… great place and I have definitely dropped my wallet and have the cart guy bring it in so I didn’t have that nightmare.This man deserved a tip and this deserves to be said; because it shows not all are rotten apples.

The two ladies at the deli were extremely nice and helpful they even let me try out a few cheeses and slices of turkey which was amazing! First time at acme and it was awesome! Very well kept organized and clean.

Some sales are very good. Beware of meat and produce. Not fresh. Also watch dates on milk. By far the worst super market I have ever been in. The store is dirty an needs to be cleaned. Some prices are very high. They do not have all the items on sale unless all were purchased but I doubt that as I was there early in the day. The place was much better when it was an A&P. I have friends in Little Silver and they speak highly of their store. We are on a barrier island and there are no other stores close by. Perhaps they don't feel they have to take care of summer rentals. My last time in this store. I don't care how far I have to drive.

Very clean. The selection is ok. Produce is fairly fresh. The prices, however, are astronomical. You are definitely paying for convenience. Stop & Shop in Tom's River isn't that much further away and the prices are a little better there.

Unfortunately many of the items are priced significantly higher than the nearby competitors. As an example Tropicana orange juice gallon size is 10.49 vs 7.59 at the competition. This is not a slight difference, this is 32% difference..

I Always find What I need, So Clean, their Produce is the best. The Bakery, Fish Dept, Deli, an the Meat Dept have Quite a Variety to Select from..An always Fresh. Their Prices are Reasonable and have many Great Sales. All Their Employees are so Friendly an So Helpful. It's a Pleasure Shopping at the Acme Where Ortley beach & Seaside Hts meet. Very expensive. Carts in each aisle made it hard to maneuver. Packing your own bag difficult with layout of counter. Cashiers very pleasant. Digital coupons slowed the older folks down who were trying to access.

Arrived at store at 7pm June 5, 2020. Must wear mask. Was not crowded. Plenty of hand baskets and grocery carts. Employees cleaning carts, doors, shelves, checkouts, floors and counters. Stocking the store with fresh produce, meats, dairy,etc. Employees were very helpful and happy. Some items like paper plates and plastic utensils were sparse but they were being stocked. Very good lighting. Wanted a foam cooler but I'm way too short to reach the top shelf. Employee ran over and got it down for me. At checkout the cashier greeted me and started a nice conversation. She was very happy and friendly. Curbside pickup and delivery are options. This store has been a great experience.

Good and convenience place to buy food, water, fruits and other snacks, but be careful of being overcharged or not getting the discount specials, cashiers are bias towards Latinos and minorities. Check your receipt b4 leaving. And make sure you got the posted discounts.

I'm new to the area and have to say I love this Acme.. Selection is good. I didn't ask the manager's name who was on the closing shift.. she was extremely patient and helpful as I fumbled to download the digital coupons at closing time..Thank you for your patience and kindness..

Clean, very helpful staff. Butcher, bakery, deli etc. Very well stocked . Feels like the Nordstrom of food stores. Everyone I tell to go there since we only have two choices Shop Rite and Stop & Shop say that is where they will go from now on.

Love the quality and selection of all food departments. Staff at the bakery,seafood,deli, and pharmacy have been very helpful and polite. The cashiers are also well trained and friendly. I have a son on the spectrum and they never cease to amaze me how nice and socially conscious they are in speaking to him. The store in Sea Side Heights has convinced me that I do not have to go in land to get quality and value for my grocery needs when we are at the shore.

It’s such an unpleasant experience when the employees hang out smoking at both entrances. This happens every time I go so I will no longer be shopping there.I’ve also been touched and taken hold of on both arms by an employee when asking where to find a specific type of food. (Because they felt like turning me around physically in the direction of the product.)The berries are usually sitting on the shelf moldy. They have produce on the shelves, not at all inexpensive, which is rotting away.The fresh baked department is very helpful and sweet.The cashiers are generally very helpful and kind.But the management is severely lacking and makes it such an unpleasant store.

Ok store. Prices kind of high but understandable for a resort area. They use digital coupons to get the better price for sale items, making you jump through hoops and sign up for an account and install an app for a one time purchase...

This location is very convenient for vacationers heading to the Toms River Barrier Island areas, Ortley Beach, Lavallette, Ocean Beach(s) and Seaside Heights & Seaside Park.Located just after crossing the Mathis bridge from rt37 Toms River, the plaza is easily accessible from rt35 south or north bound.There is more than ample parking, and the large liquor store in the same plaza make it a very convenient stop for vacationers or folks heading to the beach. The McDonalds in the plaza recently closed.The store itself is very well stocked, more than adequately staffed, clean and organized.The store offers much more than groceries: bakery, deli, butcher, produce, tobacco, pharmacy, lottery, and a large selection of seasonal items and beach supplies.The only negative about this location are the prices. Prices are significantly higher than most any other grocery chain.Shoppers visiting the area far outnumber the locals who often choose to travel a few miles to a ShopRite (Fischer Boulevard or rt37) or a local Walmart.

The place is fairly nice and clean. Good employees. The two main issues are that it is slightly pricey so I would go here for odds and ends but not for my main shopping. Also it is on the small side so there is no salad bar and some departments are small. .

This ACME gets very busy during the Summer season, but they handle it well. It's clean, has a very good variety of well stocked items. Only issue is pricing. It's on the high side, with exception of specials.
